The "8chan thing" will follow these guys everywhere regardless of what name they happen to sail under. And good, so it should.
Nobody should forget heinous shit like that.
Can no one read in this thread?

But Koch/Deep Silver, for example, is based in Bavaria. That's not very Nordic. And they may want to acquire more companies that aren't from that area. That being said, I'm sure they could come up with sth better than... this.Embracer is a very weird name to go with regardless of how many studios they've embraced into their collective @_@
Stick with Nordic, or just THQ Nordic. One is a known brand, the other is Representative of the region they are from and also of their origin.
Excuse me?
The justification for not letting it go is absolutely clear, righteous and logical.
I didn't namedrop any sites. If they have taken action (other than "jeez, ok, we won't do 8chan AMAs anymore"), it should've been publicly, clearly & strongly communicated.First you don't know that they didn't take action. .they just didn't take the action that you personally demanded and required to satisfy your take on this.
I'm all in favor of awareness do not agree with what they did what is the same time constantly name-dropping the site that they promote it isn't helping either. If you search for that site right now on here you find did reference buy more good members trying to do what's right than anything and unintentionally advertising it
I didn't say you personally did. I mean that we as a community have though. You can see it in this thread even.I didn't namedrop any sites. If they have taken action (other than "jeez, ok, we won't do 8chan AMAs anymore"), it should've been publicly, clearly & strongly communicated.
It's a bit of a ridiculous notion, though. Should we also not use the word nazi anymore in fear of promoting nazism? 8chan is never mentioned in a positive or neutral way on this site, so there's no promotion going on.I didn't say you personally did. I mean that we as a community have though. You can see it in this thread even.
looks like they're gonna become even bigger, dish out more games, I wonder how long the distaste for the company will last.
I think that's a little different than unintentionally promoting a website for people to look at with way more than just Nazi rhetoric on itIt's a bit of a ridiculous notion, though. well that site is gone now so I guess it works outI think that's a little different than unintentionally promoting a website for people to look at with way more than just Nazi rhetoric on it
that's what everyone was trying to do before you came in here with this "8chan is voldemort" shit
that's what everyone was trying to do before you came in here with this "8chan is voldemort" shit
... That's what happened. That's what you were saying is a bad thing to do.If you really want to make them pay and you're really pissed make them irrelevant. Send a message to every website that covers them. Cut off their exposure. I promise you they would take action then publicly.
What I said was bad was constantly advertising the website in here..... That's what happened. That's what you were saying is a bad thing to do.
In what world has "just ignore it" ever worked? Never. This is that whole "if we don't talk about racism, it'll just go away" nonsense. Please get this out of here.I do not believe we need to forget it or let it go. However what you just did is part of the problem that we are currently creating. if you search for the website you mentioned on this website here there is over 1000 results. That means that we have indirectly advertised that website over 1000 times while trying to send a message that does the exact opposite.
They are a shity website. I would bet you that they know that they are a shity website. We're not giving them bad coverage. We're just giving them coverage.
As for THQ Nordic it's okay to be upset with what they did and never forget it, but if you want to do the most damage to them not talking about them hurts way more than talking badly about them.
I don't like to beat this drum but I can't but to think that our current president wouldn't be where he is right now if we didn't give him free coverage every time he did something stupid. His entire platform was wrong on free press from the other side.
with that said they have stuff true to their word so far and nothing like that has happened since. We don't need to let it go, but we can move on and watch out for this s***.

Don't mischaracterize what I said.Corporations websites and racism are not the same. Not promoting something doesn't mean you're ignoring it.
Please don't simplify what I'm saying
What a stupid fucking take! The whole "Just ignore it and everything will solve itself" shit has been proven bullshit since 2016 and that hasn't changed.I think that's a little different than unintentionally promoting a website for people to look at with way more than just Nazi rhetoric on it
one could argue that we have done a better job promoting that site than THQ Nordic has
it's not advertising, it's the way you achieve what you were talking about. What I said was bad was constantly advertising the website in here..

Is this a bot or script that runs when a thread has THQ in the title sis? Literally this entire thread has been about this subject lmaoDon't forget about all the things you're supporting when you consider any THQ Nordic games.
Here's a helpful summary post of all the events for the uninitiated.
Mod statement: "To address a few recurring points: We will not be banning games published by THQ Nordic and subsidiaries like Deep Silver. You are instead welcome to continue raising the issue in threads relevant to the publisher and its games."
If you use Steam and want to ignore all games that THQ Nordic publishes, go to their publisher page while you're logged in, then click on the little gear icon below where it says "Beta" and choose "Ignore this creator."

These games are being published by THQ Nordic. For those who may not be aware or who may have forgotten, THQ Nordic had a marketing effort where it intended to gain attention using a website that is known primarily for its support of child pornography, as well as for support of Neo-Nazism, doxxing, and other extremely damaging behaviors.
THQ Nordic's provided no response to this fiasco except for an apology claiming they did not do enough research. As the website is unlisted by Google, they had spoken to the board owner about removing "nasty stuff", and content was viewable both before and during the campaign, this claim is beyond belief. The individuals responsible are known not to be rogue PR interns, but go up to THQ Nordic's board. THQ Nordic has not dealt with the individuals responsible, and they released an embarrassingly bad "apology" that addressed nothing.
Consider that by supporting their games, you are supporting a publisher that is complicit with child pornography.
