Yup, I find that the channels that appeal more towards the mature older gamers crowd are covering it.
There will be an internal investigation following with anyone involved all being fired, no matter how high up, followed by an official statement saying the company doesn't condone/support their actions.

I believe this is mostly because the other channels are too piss afraid to "alienate" their audience who is all about "BUT MUH FREE SPEECH". Good on Jim for covering the issue.
I don't know when you last checked, but we have had around 4-5 developers anonymously come out to say they are embarrassed to be linked with it. Nothing really public.
The most public we had were the Satisfactory devs, who quickly uploaded a map of the company structure to show they had nothing to do with it.
I think Jim went a bit too easy on them but meh, good signal boost regardless and I do appreciate tying it in to the larger structure of desperate bullshit PR by idiots.
We are talking about aligning yourself to CP'ers, Nazis and Doxxers. The list of games I ignored yesterday was pretty huge even if many were not my cup of tea, you'd expect someone would go on the record with at least a "we don't agree with out publisher's stance in this".

This game is being published by THQ Nordic. For those who may not be aware or who may have forgotten, THQ Nordic had a marketing effort where it intended to gain attention using a website that is known primarily for its support of child pornography, as well as for support of Neo-Nazism, doxxing, swatting campaigns and other extremely damaging behaviours.
THQ Nordic's provided no response to this fiasco except for an apology claiming they did not do enough research. As the website is unlisted by Google, they had spoken to the board owner about removing "nasty stuff", and content was viewable both before and during the campaign, this claim is beyond belief.
The individuals responsible are known not to be rogue PR interns, but go up to THQ Nordic's board. At least one of the individuals involved, (Reinhard Pollice) has large stakes in THQ Nordic AB, the holding company responsible for THQ Nordic as well Coffee Stain Studios and Koch Media. THQ Nordic has not dealt with the individuals responsible.
Consider that if you support this game, you will be supporting a publisher that is complicit with child pornography.

Philipp Brock's the one who apologized. When Waypoint reached out to Reinhard Pollice and the CEO, they both put the blame on Philipp.
I think there's definitely an intentional effort to protect Reinhard, and he especially is due for scrutiny.
Far more useful to simply have live discussion in any THQ threads. People in those threads will deserve to know that they're dealing with a company that chums around with child pornography and words like nigger and faggot.
Other places on the internet can be safe havens for those attitudes and for their products, but this one doesn't have to be.
THQ Nordic GmbH is a publisher. Any development studio they own will be published by them, so a list like that wouldn't really be useful.
The parent company of THQ Nordic is also called THQ Nordic, and they own other companies (like Koch Media), but those companies are independent and have nothing to do with this.
Real easy to sit from a distance and say the unrelated rank and file should go on social media and fire themselves.
For all we know they've already been told that public statements are career ending. Leave them alone.
Absolutely, but that requires people to maintain vigilant and be informative for every single THQ Nordic topic, so having a prepared statement might be easier to encourage people to broach the topic. After that it's up to how people react to the statement to keep the conversation going, and I'm taking the mods on their word and expecting that it will not be buried in other threads.
I am personally a believer in lowering the bar to entry, so we get more people involved with activism.
People copy and pasting a statement does not stop them from then engaging with people. The existence of such a statement also doesn't stop people from making their own statement if they wish.

That hasn't been the case so far for developers who traffic in racism and misogyny (well, Western developers, at least).
I feel pretty confident that there are enough people here who take offense to it that it would come up whenever they try to push one of their games onto an unsuspecting audience.

I believe the parent company is just a holding company, and the person holding it is the CEO of THQ Nordic GmbH.
He's the CEO, but he never engages in anything. The companies are mostly self-governing as far as anybody can tell.

I'd also add that the comments that they made were in line with 8chan's vile community, agreeing with bigoted and transphobic posts.
I was really hoping they would get their shit together and publicly condemn everyone involved in this fiasco. Unfortunately, I no longer feel like they are capable of doing so. I had most of their Switch releases in my wishlist, waiting for both discounts and larger storage options. I removed all of them today. Unfortunately, I have already purchased Sine Mora EX. Biomutant is now completely off my radar. Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire was definitely going to be a day one game for me, but I'll be passing now.
The only way I could see myself ever buying a THQN game again is if they apologize, get rid of those involved, and make a charitable contribution to a relevant organization (RAINN is the first that comes to mind). I already have more than enough games to play, so it really doesn't bother or inconvenience me in any way to skip all of their future content.

That person, Reinhard Pollice, is not a board member. He's director of business and production development, and also holds a large amount of shares.
Lars Wingefors is CEO, founder, board member and major shareholder. He had nothing to do with this shitshow as far as we know, but he's the one who decides how to respond to it. And this is it, so far. One could certainly hold that against him.
Watching this unfold has been equal parts horrifying, angering and disappointing. I wish I could support the devs that had no say in this and livelihood is now threatened until they find more sanely managed employers, but good god this is disgusting behaviour from the execs

A lot of Youtubers and media are unfortunately utter pieces of shit who know that next generation THQ will be flooding the market with all these IPs they have recently been buying and developing. They don't want to be blacklisted and lose clicks on early access to all these games. They can go fuck themselves.
I just looked into it. The Quatering DID do a video on it... and it is largely focused on defending THQ Nordic, because of course that is his position. He is mainly upset at all the journalists for being "vulgar puritans". It is a mess. Don't watch the video. That guy is a piece of shit.
