I love the hot weather, although my hay fever has been pretty bad for the last couple of weeks. Although, things seem to have improved in the last two days as most of the grass is going yellow and drying out by me.As a hay fever sufferer, I'm loving this hot spell, as the grass pollen levels are really low for the season. Everyone is stressing about how uncomfortable they are, but I've not been this comfortable in the summer in years!

Its settled in the last few days but I've found this grass season to be one of the worst - almost everyday was listed as Very High in LondonI love the hot weather, although my hay fever has been pretty bad for the last couple of weeks. 32c is what you guys get to in a heat wave? Oh man, thats a regular May for us. But yeah, ACs are the best.
There are no windows in my house that those work in. Most people have casement windows.
The one I got is a rated for energy, tho they go up to a***. Frankly I'll pay a few quid in electricity for a few weeks to keep my kid cool.
The few that I can find would not. They sell casement window ACs idk if the would work in your situation.

Long term if I decide to i'll fit proper units through the wall. Not that big a job and not that expensive.
Ehat makes portable ones less efficient than the ones that sit in the window?
I see.
Nice. Is this a simple plug in and switch on? Or is there more involved? I want one!My room has been reaching 32c lately and it has been making me feel so ill, plus I suffer with clinical depression and honestly my mental health always suffers during summer so I finally forked over the £300 and bought myself a portable air conditioning unit and my god, it's heaven! I'm currently sitting in my ice cold bedroom freezing my ass off, I should lower the cooling but I'm just sadistically enjoying the cold for a little while first.
I can't stress how much better a proper AC unit is vs an air cooler, or a traditional fan, even those with compartments for water and ice, this is just on another level and worth every penny. I am so excited for night time so I can maybe get a good nights sleep, which hasn't been possible for so long.

Looks like another 2 weeks of heat at least. AC still not worth it?
