Yes
No, because then a 'cloud' icon shows up next to the archived game's icon.Couldn't they just have used the "Archive" option to delete the game's data from the system but retain the Home page logo?

There actually isn't even any proof of VC in the video, just a custom folder that the guy created that was titled "Virtual Console Folder", lol. Still, I agree that Virtual Console ever coming to Switch is very unlikely at this point, as I've said several times in the past.Three things put me on #teamfake:
1. Virtual Console
2. Twitch app
3. Virtual Console
Also, YouTube and Crunchy but no Netflix? Lol.
Okay *criesSources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
keyword is "indicate" not "confirmed"Sources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
Nintendo has multiple times confirmed that video streaming services are something it will eventually look at for the Switch.
Plus the 'no hints so far' argument hardly holds when Hulu and Nico Nico were both added to the Switch randomly one day without any announcement, leak, rumor, hype, or fanfare.
This is pretty much confirmed fake, as other people have already stated, but it's worth noting that Hulu is available on Switch if you want to use it!
Hulu is actually already on Switch. It's the only US video service currently available on the system. But that doesn't disprove your argument, because the rest aren't.
I think the assumption is that they would be announced at the mythical January direct, since Nintendo has said in the past that more video apps would be coming post system launch.
Why so cruel. just close the darn thing.Sources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
posted on /v/, so take it with a gallon of salt
- themes
- cloud storage
- icon sorting
- party chat
- virtual console
- media apps
- system level microphone support
- internet browser
allegedly launches in feb
I've never felt so hurt from a fake before ;_;Sources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
Yeah months before as well/v/ have been right before. Didn't the plot of FFXV leak there as well as some other huge announcement?
Mostly because there's no confirmation either way. There's a possibility, however small, that this could just be real. Best to believe it's not.

From Youtube comments:
"I don't want to crush your hopes and dreams, but this is fake. The console has Mario Kart 8 DX downloaded digitally (no game card symbol next to the game title while he hovers over it in the main menu), which takes up 6.8 GB of space, but only 2GB of System Memory is taken up, less than 3.2 GB of the SD card storage is taken up, and only 0.9 GB of Cloud storage is taken up. Makes no sense."
Edit: I was not the first to post this, not even close
Even if that is the case I'm skeptical about this, it would be nice but with the system being opened up to homebrew recently I think this is just someone messing around.

That sounds way too contrived though lol, and we have no indication of anything like it being true.I think a scenario that works would be that this console is purely for testing firmware updates, so every icon is a dummy icon except for the one that corresponds to the game which is physically inserted into the card slot. You'd need to test a game card for a new firmware update after all.
Still team fake, but it's just a thought.
Awwww man. I was almost convinced till you pointed that part out. Theres no way Nintendo has an "Add VC folder" button.
You definitely thought wrong.Furthermore, I thought Switch owners didn't want all this bloat and wanted to play games only and nothing else?
It's sad how worked up everyone is over basic features that should've been available on day 1. Even more sad is how this is probably all fake and we're still not getting these. Furthermore, I thought Switch owners didn't want all this bloat and wanted to play games only and nothing else?
No, Switch owners would like to have bells and whistles. But none of the features that this fake update would supposedly add were day one required. Everything that the Switch absolutely had to do out of the box at launch it could already do.It's sad how worked up everyone is over basic features that should've been available on day 1. Even more sad is how this is probably all fake and we're still not getting these. Furthermore, I thought Switch owners didn't want all this bloat and wanted to play games only and nothing else?
How many indications do you need.
Homebrew isn't a thing on Switch yet, not at the level that would let something like this happen. I have to assume this was made using Adobe (and the important thing here i that we never saw the OS running on an actual Switch, either).Y'all do know that Homebrew is a growing thing for the Switch? Right?
Although I'm curious to know how this video was made. I wanna learn something tonight!
Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I wonder what's taking them so long in that case?
Thanks for clarifying.Sources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
It is sad. These are features that should be standard on a Console being released in 2017, but... I don't know, the now three delays for their online service seem to indicate that they might be reworking things. How many indications do you need.
For me it was the party chat. Nintendo hasn't given me any reason to think that they're even considering any other voice solution that isn't tethered to their dumb app.
No NoA tester would be that cheeky though. Just like no employee would publicly broadcast their unique "NoATester" number, if there were such a thing. And I doubt a test unit could be easily stolen. The tester could've just created his own folder and named it Virtual Console
That's what I'm getting from this along with the February launch in the description.
That the game icons/folders/themes and such are just placeholders to test the UI of the firmware to be changed later with the final content.
Oh alright, nevermind discussing this then. We over and done with nice and quick, lol.Sources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
Wow, definitely one of the more elaborate fakes ive seen if it turns out fakeSources we consider reliable have come forward to indicate to us that this is fake. We're leaving the thread open for now, but take it with more than a grain of salt.
Nintendo deliberately wanted to keep the emphasis on the Switch squarely being a 'games only machine' around launch, for good or for bad. Netflix, for example, even said that Nintendo had for the time being passed on a Switch app. For their own inscrutable reasons, they wanted to market this as a games machine for now.Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I wonder what's taking them so long in that case?
It's a really strange leak.
You'd have to perfectly replicate the Switch UI including all the subtle animations either in some Adobe app or HTML.
Then you'd have to insert in your own edits, add the sounds and the tactile feel to it with the differently timed loading screens and such.
Not to mention all the additional overlays and animations.
I mean, to fake this would take a lot more effort than printing a 3D controller or faking a Smash Bros. select screen.
The Switch can in fact handle mic chat in game; Splatoon 2 even allows this for LAN matches.System-wide mic chat is also bs. The Switch can handle mic chat in-game, but they locked it to a phone app to start just to piss people off? That makes no sense. It's a not a feature for the same reason the Wii U didn't have Twitch streaming.
