Good guys with a gun who are untrained run and hide when actual shooting starts. You know why? All open-carry folks have fantasies about being a hero, but few have fantasies of being a martyr. I would say it was more than a lost summer; it's actively hurt his re-election chances.
I mean, if even career soldiers face heavy doubts and get traumatised during active combat, I don't think Jake-from-next-door will handle things too well either.

Sometimes I think people forget Trump is essentially an actor and was involved in television for years. He has the mindset of using makeup, exaggerated clothing, and physical acting to alter his appearance and project a certain image.
