I get your point but every game outside of a few indie passion projects (and even most of those) is just a means to get money. It's why products get made.Remember the real money auction house in Diablo 3? At this point Blizzard sees games as a means to an end ($$$)
Wow. Screwing consumer choice, killing the second hand market, killing retail competition and thus bumping publisher profits AND saving the environment?! You're a fucking saint.
But you would still have to sign into battle.net to play. I have physical Frozen Throne CDs and those are now obsoleteSeeing Warcraft 3 Classic be disabled and not even work anymore is exactly why physical should live forever.
How can people have any hope for d4 and shadowlands with shit like this and wow 8.3? Both of those products are glitchy messes amd 8.3 also includes some absolutely terrible design/balance decisions with completely RNG armor effects (think legion legendaries) doing 30% of your damage. What happened blizzard.
This looks like a fan project, which is something I never thought I'd say for a blizzard game.
Blizzard was on life support from the end of Wrath of the Lich King to Mists of Pandaria.
After Mists, they just...died.
At least Overwatch was cool for a while.
That is what i am thinking, the classic version has more characterSo maybe I'm crazy, but the "old classic version" looks way better to me? It has texture and character, the second one just looks pretty...bland. The lack of shadows and AO doesn't help either...
mists was really well-received after it was over. It's one of the most fondly looked upon expansions in WoW. For modern WoW, MoP, and Legion are the probably the most liked.Overwatch wasn't only cool for a while, it was an incredible success that demonstrated pretty much exactly the kind of polish Blizzard is known for. WoW: Legion was maybe the best received WoW addon ever, at least since Wrath. After they released Diablo 3 they managed to turn the ship around and turn the game into a well-liked success. I think you are really oversimplifying things if you're trying to point this as a steady progression like this.
It's just that Blizzard has a lot more blind spots and misses these days. And right now - with WoW: Battle for Azeroth, Diablo: Immortal, the Blizzchung debacle and Warcraft 3: Reforged they are on a fuck up streak that's pretty much unseen for the studio. But arguing that it's been this way for close to a decade now doesn't ring true for me.
You like Overwatch, that's cool. I don't like it so much, but please don't misunderstand what I said to mean I was saying Overwatch is bad. I had fun with it, and never picked it up again. I said it was cool for a while, I didn't call it a failure or a bad game at all.Overwatch wasn't only cool for a while, it was an incredible success that demonstrated pretty much exactly the kind of polish Blizzard is known for. As far as Legion is concerned, I'll defer to you on that. I didn't fully experience it, I played a bit of Warlords, hated it, played Legion for a few months but it just didn't grip me like everything before Warlords did, and came back for BfA and was sorely disappointed.
Diablo 3, even after Blizzard removed that god awful real money auction house is still widely considered a let down from Diablo 2.
🤨I'm guessing they have a bunch of juniors and interns sitting on this and saw that doing cutscenes this way is a bit too elaborate, so they just cut it all and made it super basic...
Classic graphics in Reforged client look worse (shadows are missing, saturation is off, some spells/effects are missing)
for fuck's sake
I don't want to fuck with reforged at all, so this forced update to one of my favorite classic games is boiling my piss. Booted it up and I was logged into a general chat with no clear way to turn it off.
What an absolute mess. Hoping for blizzard to return to WarCraft RTS has been some monkey paw shit.

They really should have waited, especially when this release messes with the original game. Now no one is happy because people who didn't even buy the remastered version took an L.Why wouldn't they just wait until it was on par with the demo? I don't think the general public were chomping at the bit for this. Mostly just long term Blizzard fans if I were to guess.

Also, the beta did not require me to forward my ports and shit like I have to do with release client.
I'm getting mixed reports, apparently some people have had to do it and some haven't. Games are still not working for me but I don't have the patience to go home after work and tinker with all that shit. They didn't even fix the port forwarding stuff?? So basically my only hope for ONE small improvement with Reforged is out the window. All blizzard did was waste 30gb of space on my drive and fuck up one of my favorite games. Great.
I still can't get over the fact that it's impossible to play the old version online now.
A warcraft 4 by current blizzard would look like thisYeah you know what? Forget anything I said about wanting Warcraft IV. I don't want Blizzard touching anything to do with RTS games anymore.
I've never played WoW so this series lore has been frozen to me since frozen throne lol.A warcraft 4 by current blizzard would look like this
2 races, alliance vs horde, rehash every single old villain and story line from WoW (hur hur remember THIS character? how bout this one?!), fisher-price level mechanics to appeal to garbage players to rake in the big bucks. It's better off letting the series die.
