The Metroid Prime series was 2 to 3 generations ago and the industry has changed a ton since then. Nevermind that the reason we are waiting so long for a new game from them is likely because they had a canceled project they struggled to handle.

I don't agree that Retro is best positioned as a mid scope dev. I can't comment more on that because I don't know their goals for their company. I don't know what their expectations and financials are.

We know they've worked on a new project besides this Star Fox GP game. The new project may have been a new IP.

All those studios suck and their outputs pal in comparison to tropical freeze.

I want more Donkey Kong precise platforming, brilliant level design and stellar music either 2D or 3D.

It feels so painfully obvious there needs to be a third one with a return of K. Rool. It just feels incomplete and I imagine there is enough creativity they could squeeze out for one final game to end the trilogy.

Unfortunately, people hate the idea that Retro makes DK and they probably moved on ;(

Good Feel is a great developer, but I think having a western dev work on DKC is best for the series. Paon's games always felt off and Jungle Beat was amazing but not DKC in the slightest.

That's what I'm saying. This new IP they were working on got canceled and they moved to Star Fox. They weren't able to handle seeing through whatever this game they were making asked of them.

The time between Tropical Freeze and their Star Fox Racing game will be longer than the time between 3D World and Odyssey, and pretty close to the time between Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild. The time between their mid-scope games is nearly the same as how long the giant scope games from Nintendo's best developers are taking.

I'd be fine with it if they actually tried to address all the criticism that people raise at the series. Like if they went back and tried to get a DKC2-ish vibe going, made unique bonus rooms, bring back K. Rool and Kremlins, etc.

HAL is good too. I didn't want to comment on them since I don't play Kirby games. I wished HAL did other stuff. They should branch out.

I literally couldn't care less about Kremlings in the next DKC game. And they're rather ugly.

It took them 4 years to drop Tropical Freeze so 5/6 years to drop the dong for a third time seems appropriate.
