Weirdly enough, after Mirage. I think I like a bit of both, so this be like 120 hours - and then 18 months down the line we get another 15 hour adventure of a more classic style.

Origins length seems like my preference for these AC RPGs. I barely eclipsed 100 hours after completing both expansions, clearing the entire map, and getting all trophies and enjoyed every second.

If Ubisoft Bordeaux makes another AC similar to Mirage then I wouldn't mind them staying around that 30 hour mark.

20-30 hours MAX. I'm sick of 50+ hour games and even worse... 100 hour games.

No wonder the industry is circling the drain. Make more polished, shorter games, thx. If I can play more games, I buy more games.

Origins for me.
Even Origins at the end, started to feel like too much.

Odyssey and Valhalla are on another level

Because of the setting. 100+ hours, coming off of the Shogun high makes me want to take my time in that era.

I loved every minute of my 130 hours in Odyssey and I didn't enjoy any of my 12 hours with Valhalla. So if it is good I want it as long as possible and if it is bad I won't finish it so it doesn't matter.

Like I said in that thread yesterday about game length/Odyssey, I feel like the AC rpgs generally let you go at your own pace, unless you're one of the completionist types that have to do every little thing (which, surprisingly to me sometimes, is lots of people).

so like, they can go hog wild with it for all I care. but if they pare it down to a leaner experience, then that's fine too i guess

Obviously if it's fucking amazing, I won't want it to end.

With that said, I hope they bring it back down to Origins length. I've only got so many hours to play and I do want to play other games as well.

I know i am on the minority site on era but after Odyssey/Valahlla i won't even touch a short or classic AC game. Give me a massive open world, give me a ton of skill points and a million things to do.

I've both platinumed Valhalla and 100%'d it on PC. One of my favorite AC games.

25-30 for main story… 40 hours for all side quests.

Anymore than that and I am not buying.

I got my worst burn EVER with Odyssey and Valhalla.. thanks to them open world games has been ruined for me.

One more BIG game. People have been waiting a long time for AC:Japan. Hexe can and will be smaller.

Just one more.

the bigger the better. we don't often get this team at the helm of an AC, so they should be free to make solid huge open world game.

While I don't mind long games in general, I think it clashes terribly with Ubisoft's template-based approach to game design.

They've always struggled with gameplay variety, so the longer games are loaded with bloat and tedious busywork. Neither the gameplay nor the writing are deep enough to remain compelling for that long, even if I enjoy the first ~30 hours or so.

The new ones all wear out their welcome long before the ending.

The lenght doesnt really matter to me. I can enjoy 100+ hours game and feel wanting more after finishing them and get bored of 10 hour ones midway.

Obviously if I enjoy it as much as say Odysseey then I want it to be as long as possible. I have 140 hours in Odyssey, 100%d the main game and dlc's and could've easily gone for more.

i only play the entries i really like the setting of. last two ive played were black flag and origins, so im not that burned out on long asscreed games.

that said ill be happier if its 30 hours or shorter.

Mirage was garbage, while Valhalla/Odyssey ruled. Not sure length has anything to do with that though, I want worlds as big as those but more focus on the main narrative and main characters development through relationships. So less random side quests and more companion quests, proper romances and character arcs.

IMO the problem isn't the length. It's the bloat and diversity of content.

I put 150 hrs into AC Valhalla and it's DLCs but I honestly couldn't tell you much in terms of distinct gameplay. The whole thing just blurred together because you are basically just doing the same thing for 150 hrs.

I think Origins was the right amount of content and story length for an RPG

2nd option for me.

I'd happily plug away at a long game that ends up lasting 100 hrs if the 100 hrs is quality. What I definitely do not want is a game that is 20 hours stretched to last 100 by various means of padding, both subtle and obvious.

Somewhere between origins and odyssey for critical path. Nothing close to Valhalla.

80 hours for major side content

120+ for completionist.

Somewhere in between Black Flag and Origins for me. Odyssey is one of my favorite AC games but it is filled with bloat and it definitely needed to be cut back. Valhalla was one of the biggest slogs I've ever played, so I hope they never make a game that big again.

Closer to Origins. Odyssey was too long and Valhalla was straight up a chore by the end. Probably the second longest game I've played behind Persona 5 and I couldn't tell you a thing that happened besides the ending

Honestly, with Ubisoft's skill in creating these vast worlds combined with this setting in particular, I'm a-OK with it being one of the longer ones for sure.

It's been a long enough since Valhalla that I'm ready for another bajillion hour effort.

Longer baby!

Dang I just realised I've played another AC in the meantime to 100% and it didn't even touch the sides lol

Black Flag and Odyssey are my fave AC games, so I'll split the difference and say Origins length.

I'm def in the camp of a little shorter. Give me that 20-30 hour, preferably in the middle.

25-30 is ideal for MQ for an open world game like AC imo. 40 being the upper end for my tolerance before my eyes start to glaze over.

i like big maps and I dont think 20-30 hours playtime could capture the ambience of map as big and detailed as odyssey and valhalla world

so 50-60 hours, 100 with dlcs

The shorter the better. The AC games are not good enough to be as long as they are...

Probably on par with Valhalla. I want to explore the entire island of Japan. Give it to me Ubisoft!

possibly a hot take but as long as a game is good enough to hold my attention i don't care how long or short it is. i don't personally play games just for the promise of a credits screen
