Not played. If it's been in your backlog / collection for years I don't wanna hear about it!

What old game did you buy recently?

I just picked up Lost Oddysey for Xbox 360, to play on Series X. It's on sale for £5. Series X is my first Xbox so I missed this one. It's the oldest game I've bought in a long time.

*I have played some games recently of the same age on GamePass but I'm not counting that.

Doom, I guess. I suppose the most recent was Doom64 on Switch. But I guess those would classify as "new" releases, depending on how you looked at it.

In terms of actual old games.. Probably Super Mario for the Game Boy Color, picked that up a year or so ago to go along with the new backlit LCD I put in it.

Roko-Loko into Ratozinger's Castle on Steam

Roko-Loko into Ratozinger’s Castle is a platform-styled action game. You will explore a huge castle with several dangers, enemies and dungeons. If you succeed at rescuing the rockstars and unlocking the castle doors, you will finally face the evil boss, Ratozinger.

last week i also bought the 2020 remake of a 1995 game but i guess that don't count

There is a huge chance that the next game that i will buy is a 2021 port of a 1999 game

Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition for PS3. I've been wanting to replay it, and while I know the PS3 version has issues, I figure I should be able to get through enough of it to make it worthwhile.

If nothing else it can't be as bad as Battlefield 3, which apparently has an unpatched bug that prevents campaign missions from loading. I can't even get past the tutorial mission thanks to that :/.

I bought Ninja Kazan for my Switch the other day. I've been waiting for a home console release of this game for decades. It was originally released in arcades in 1988.

I bought that Fire Emblem port on Switch, but that probably doesn't count.

Hmm, I think Vanguard Bandits then, I bought it from the PS3 store when the playstation store was about to change and I panicked. Bought a couple others there too, but I think that's the oldest one.

I bought Goemon 2 for the SNES, er, Super Famicon when those English patches came out a year or so back. I think that game originally released in 1993?

Does the Core Grafx Mini count? It's full of old games although packaged in a new system. If not then it's Uprising 2 or Perimeter, I bought those on Steam just for nostalgia reasons and because I couldn't get the original media to work anymore.

Bionic Commando Rearmed. It was on sale on Steam, I had an old interest in playing it and then I forgot to take it out of my cart when I looked at it and realized it wasn't for me. $2 confirmed that I didn't like it. Also bought a bunch of the old Legacy of Kain titles on there.

Bought the PC version of FF7 last year for modding/upscaled backgrounds etc, but still only ever play on PS1 Retroarch with CRT filter.

Authenticity wins

Ecco and Tides of Time for the Mega CD. US versions because the PAL ToT is crazy expensive.

Bought a digital copy of Alpha Centauri last year cause my ancient CD wouldn't install on the new computer, and I didn't want to figure out what was wrong.

I bought Final Fantasy IX on Steam recently after playing it a bit on Game Pass and deciding I wanted to play with the Moguri Mod.

The original Half Life. Still holds up, except for the dancing around ladders bit.
