A trope starts to really be a problem when it goes too far.

The only good JRPG hot springs scene is the one in Zestiria because Sorey just sat in that sauna and refused to engage in shenanigans. And so no shenanigans were had.
Come on people, that's obviously just a charging port! That would be a Yep on the shiny lycra cameltoe. Wannabe-Bayonetta keeping it classy.
It's possible it's just a costume seam, but it didn't get there by accident.
I was surprised they actually showed it in the event. Did they not actually watch the trailer or something?I'm incredibly dissapointed that a big company like Sony decided to give a trailer like that spotlight. It's one thing to have a game with those elements but not actually present in a trailer.
It's another that makes those elements one of the primary focuses.
This one stood out the most and the devs knew what they were doing with those angles.
Fortunately in the PC version you should be able to replace her with Paddington Bear or something
How are these two things related in any way?I find it extremely telling that in the Eve thread posters are telling us to look past the character design and camera focus...
And in the Forspoken people are telling us it looks/sounds cringe and they muted the trailer.
🤔🤔🤔
People excusing sexist character because horniness/fun gameplay.

So awful and so out of place.
Lmao, i didn't even realize that.I find it extremely telling that in the Eve thread posters are telling us to look past the character design and camera focus...

People dismissing character because not sexy enough/talking too much for their liking and therefore ignoring what looks to be a fun game
I have seen a couple of the same names show up in both threads yeah.
Haha, I immediately thought that too.So is the OT3 title "do you have a problem with female anatomy or what?"
Christ almighty that thread is a dumpster fire.
lol it wouldn't surprise me if they tried something like this. When we'll play the game and get to know that she's a sex doll that rebelled agains her owners we will Feel Ashamed of Our Words & Deeds™

Yeah that sounds weird.I find it extremely telling that in the Eve thread posters are telling us to look past the character design and camera focus...

That used to be bad but now it's hopelessly quaint in the face of weebs going "if you hate sexual harassment jokes it's because you hate Japanese culture.""Why does a sexualized character embarrass you but not all of the violence?" Guys stop, I can't win bingo this many times.
I know the vagina-seam and "metal legs as latex" have gotten all the attention, but what stood out to me on that Project Eve design is that her top is reminiscent of the Japanese school girl sailor suit.
Which is A) a completely intentional reference on their part and B) fucking YIKES based on every other part of that design.
I think this is a bit of a stretch.People excusing sexist character because horniness/fun gameplay.
People dismissing character because not sexy enough/talking too much for their liking and therefore ignoring what looks to be a fun game
Gary Whitta is a treasure and I will not stand for this blasphemy
I don't think I can look past the character design for Project Eve. Gonna have to be a skip for me.I find it extremely telling that in the Eve thread posters are telling us to look past the character design and camera focus...
The same people?
I personally dislike the character design in the former, and haven't bothered to check its thread because it looks like "we already have Bayonetta at home". On the other hand I love Frey's design, yet still find the dialogue to be cringe inducing (although to be fair, it might not be representative for the writing in the full game). It seems to be a trend in many games these days, to keep the protagonist talking at all times no matter how little it adds to the game or how stupid it sounds (Guardians of the Galaxy also seems to do this, for example).

This feels like a monkey paw moment. The end result of this will be a a new hair pulling feature in the game. It's hardly the most egregious element of the Project Eve trailer (my eyes feel offended watching whatever that was) but the person's stream I was watching brought up how utterly unrealistic it is to have hair that long and be fighting like that, hair is cumbersome, there's a reason people tie it when working in factories and such, it's basically just an extra weakness in a fight.

I think it is made by the same developer Project Eve...I can't remember the name of it, but last year, a small Japanese developer showed off their game and it was a 3rd person shooter in fantasy world war two, where little girls dressed very similarly were running around mowing down fake Nazis with the camera basically shoved up their butt. I wanted to post the trailer as an example of how this sort of extremely generic oversexualized representation is about to hit us in a new wave we're not prepared for, but without the title, I was just left left awash in poorly made porn games on steam.
Time well spent...
For a bit of the trailer I thought her hair was her armor flowing behind her like it was liquid armor or something.
Its silly but I don't mind some fantasy/aesthetic even if unrealistic. Not all of it has to be realistic that's the fun of fiction and art. Largely the issues is here for me is the skin-tight outfit or heels and the camera flying close to her crotch because those elements tend to be sexualize more than a person's hairdo (good and bad hairdos aside).

The same developer (SHIFT UP) is developing a mobile game, which makes Eve look tame in comparison.

Agreed, if the hair was the only issue here it would be a massive improvement, thought I do like the idea of a game that punishes you for having unrealistic hairstyles/clothing, sure you can wear that if you want, but don't expect to get far.Its silly but I don't mind some fantasy/aesthetic even if unrealistic. The Project Eve thread was the first time I've been legitimately, full-spec angry on Era in months. I had to step away for my own sanity.

I like the person who got mad at me for being mean to the now permabanned member who was just wildly sexist (and who it turns out had previously been banned for defending underage sexualization).
Fuck decorum sometimes.
