Gaming 2021: $3.533B
Gaming 2020: $2.349B

Content and services grew $739M, or 34%

Hardware grew 232%

Software 2021: $2.896B
Software 2020: $2.157B

+$739M / +34.26%

Hardware 2021: $637M (Total Gaming - Software)
Hardware 2020: $192M

x 3.318

$637M

Series X: $500 * 1,000,000 = $500M
Series S: $137M / $300 = 457K

Series X:S = 69:31

Total Q1 2021 = ~1.45M
That puts Xbox x/s around 4.5-5 million ww ?

What is the reasoning behind the belief that Starfield is going to do gangbusters?
If I told you Sony tried to moneyhat it for exclusivity
And pointed to their track record of solid third party investments that paid off and games sold like crazy
Would you then understand why this game will do gang busters? They would know better than any of us. For all we know Sony and Microsoft saw part of it running already.

This is the IP everyone wanted to bring to the dance, just so happens Microsoft is bringing them to the dance now, but also taking them to the after party (Steam, Gamepass, Mobile)

it's going to hit numbers for sales, for pushing hardware, pushing Gamepass and pushing xcloud. That's a lot of avenues that can benefit from growth.

Holy moly, no wonder there are tons of small teams and independent studios solely making MC marketplace content.

Xbox revenue guidance for next Q : "expect revenue growth in the mid to high single digits", Xbox Series X/S: supply constraints will continue & Xbox content and services: "revenue to decline in the mid to high single digits" (due to strong Q last year)

Not that surprised. Who isn't on Linkedin at this point?
Me and everyone i know? I guess we dont work in industriea where its standard. Or its just not very common where i live. Im not the person you're replying too. Just giving my perspective. Personally i dont know anyone who has it. I know its popular so the numbers dont surprise me. But i wouldnt be surprised if they were a lot lower too just based on my surroundings.

Great numbers! And they haven't even started with their first party titles. Numbers will be bonkers in 2022 and the years after that.

Man, and to think they were almost ready to sell Xbox off after Mattrick.

I sometimes wonder if Mattrick, with his TV TV TV and Kinect obsession, and Terry Myerson, who seemed to have tightened the belt on Xbox while it was under his Windows division from 2014-2017, see results like these and think back on their decisions.

In any case, it's so great to see Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo all doing well with their own approaches.

I have 4 casual gaming friends that want an X but probably not until they can pick up in a store. I don't see that until a year from now.

Those revenue growth numbers are great and all but as long as they don't Talk about profit I don't really care.

By far their best console, and the OG and 360 were no slouches either.

Profit is boring for a $2t company and doesn't speak to growth.

The big takeaway from all of this is this may be the first time in history 3 main platform providers all look to be doing very good. It is about time we had some strong competition all around.
