I'm impressed that Fallout 76 seems to still be topping the sales chart on Steam despite it having been like, a week, since the sale ended... it's $40 and it's only behind Manor Lords and Helldivers 2

I rarely play games while wearing a headset, but the sound in Hellblade 1 is amazing. All of the whisper voices are well made. I can only imagine how good Hellblade 2's sound will be.

No way they meant for it to pop off like this but people saying they should have had a remake or two up and ready for season 1 are wrong. They didn't need to do a damn thing and now they can get some remakes or remasters up and going to coincide with future seasons.
yeah people should just chill a bit and play other stuff too. everything's about "the market". let them cook on their time. fallout will still have more seasons, people will still be interested.

I was like "isn't this the normal price?" but that's how much the 1 TB used to cost lol... It's like 40% off (down from $360!!!!!). Still absolutely fuckin nuts.

$230 is the normal price just like $150 is the normal price for the 1TB even though Seagate says it's $199. Seagate just has a "fake" MSRP they maintain so they can advertise discounts. Western Digital doesn't though, they always show the normal price. Don't ever buy for more than $230/$150 and ideally less than that on sale.

If anyone wants a card, last holiday had 1TB for like $90-110 which is almost reasonable.

People see everything that isn't perfect like a missed opportunity that Microsoft has (again) failed to capitalize on. They completely ignore all realities and blame management for not getting it done, like normal.

Outside of art, PG has not many positions open. I swear they used to have like 60 open at any given point lol. Which is good if they were filled.

Also surprisingly few contract roles whereas before it seemed like a lot of contract positions

Before the Micrsoft hiring freeze (in iirc the start of 2023) Playground consistently had over 100 positions open. It sharply dropped to something like 20 at that point.

No one knows. It won't be long before they are on PC but it's completely up in the air when and even if they come to Xbox.

I actually think one of the few advantages from Microsoft not competing any longer, could be that Sony won't have to defend themselves as much and won't have the same need for timed exclusivity. Will probably take some years, but they shouldn't have the same need to pay to keep games away from Xbox, since it's not a threat.

Eventually they'll get timed or full exclusivity for free with some titles, just by being the platform that sells the most, so might not change much in the end, other than the size of the titles being exclusive.

On the other hand they could also try and crush the platform completely, take its share while they have the chance, which would lead to the same or more deals..

I agree. This attitude really annoys me. There's no sense in getting outraged about something when there are perfectly reasonable reasons why it is the case. A lot of stuff is Microsoft's fault, but not everything is, and not everything can be properly anticipated (especially with how long, expensive and complex game development is now).

Is Sony doing any big deals other than Square? Haven't seen nothing lately. Also, the most succesfully publishers are leaning towards PCs, like Capcom.

"Can NetEase replace Mihoyo? What is Microsoft's partnership with NetEase?"

In the announcement, it became clear that Microsoft Gaming and NetEase have partnered and are considering providing games for Xbox.

Currently, titles such as "Star Rail" and "Genshin Impact" by Chinese Mihoyo are gaining popularity on PlayStation, but these games are not available on Xbox. Now that China's NetEase has partnered with Xbox, you can expect NetEase's popular titles to appear on Xbox.

Netease has games such as Wilderness Action, The Fifth Personality, and Life After, and has the potential to reach users who prefer Chinese games.

In recent years, Xbox has gradually expanded its offer of Japan games, but it is said that there are still few games developed in Asia compared to competing hardware such as PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. These partnerships are expected to strengthen Xbox and Game Pass.

On the other hand, Microsoft has a policy of not monopolizing game software, including its own first-party studios, and there is a possibility that the titles developed in this partnership will not be exclusive to Xbox / PC.

At this point, there are still many details of this partnership that are unknown, but we will keep an eye on it in the future.

Huh? When did this happen?

That happened when they ported the four titles. It wasn't Pentiment or Hi-Fi on their own that tanked their mindshare. It was the assumption that everything will follow that did.

Let's be real. This is the Sony way. Always has been.

Possibly and would only be smart. Now is the time to pound on the system.

There is no other obvious way for Sony to continue growing but to further erode the Xbox marketshare and take users from that ecosystem. The MP focused users are pretty valuable because they are willing to pay for online play.

I think 7 WILL come to Xbox, it's just whether it's in the next 6-12 months or five years when the full trilogy is out.

The Smurfs: Dreams - Official Reveal Teaser Trailer

Watch the reveal teaser for The Smurfs: Dreams, an upcoming 3D platformer adventure game coming to PS5 (PlayStation 5), PS4 (PlayStation 4), Xbox Series X/S,...

ok, this is the second game I'm interested in from the smurfverse hahaha (the other is that smurf party game, I really wish MS had a studio just focused on these types of family games )

I think most of Sony's partnerships/agreements have gone:
  • Persona and Yakuza went from PlayStation exclusives to multiplatform releases with first showings at Xbox Showcases and most releases put on Game Pass.
  • They tried getting closer with ZeniMax with the Deathloop and Ghostwire timed deals but they're now part of Microsoft.
  • They had the Call of Duty marketing but come the next release that is likely gone.
  • Final Fantasy's closeness with PlayStation looks like it has eroded to the point of the games no longer being on PS+ and will probably be at the Xbox Showcase - my prediction is the FFIX Remake will be announced there too. I think it'll only be a matter of time before Xbox ports of FFVII Remake/Rebirth are announced and the only way there'll be exclusivity of the third installment is if Sony made a deal for it before the new SE CEO was put in place.
There'll still be exclusives in the shape of games made under the various Hero Project initiatives but outside of that I can't see any major paid timed exclusives and something that I don't think Phil Spencer/Xbox have got enough credit for is how they've eroded those exclusives piece by piece.

This sort of stuff is what I can see MS doing more and more, going higher than just talking to studios but going to big publishers and signing big deals that brings games over. I assume these deals will include cash, revenue split, game pass deals, marketing. The thing that helps them with getting these deals is they don't want exclusivity so they can still sell on all platforms.

The SEGA partnership has been great and they should continue to try get more partnerships like that. The best thing is no one loses out as well, it's not like they'll become exclusive, the publishers get support and are able to still build a fanbase for their IP everywhere. Win win win for everyone, MS gets guaranteed support and some marketing/game pass inclusions and we get the games on Xbox and a chance in GP.

I don't think Phil Spencer/Xbox have got enough credit for is how they've eroded those exclusives piece by piece.

I agree, people just take those games for granted now and is expected but surely it was tough for them to get it done. Obviously need to continue to work on it but their progress should be mentioned.

Finished up Starfield yesterday. While it didn't hit the highs that I had initially hoped for it's still a good game and I enjoyed my playthrough. Really liked the overall story, but the writing wasn't spectacular and I really didn't care much for the characters. If I had to rate the game I'd give it an 8.5. Looking forward to more story in the Starfield universe.

Yo I seem to be unable to download a back-compat game on my Series X, anybody having the same issue?

I bought a disc copy of Ace Combat 6, but when I put it in it says it needs to download a 5.7 GB file but it just stays at 0%.

I'm able to download other game updates. And the disc seems fine as I put it in my Xbox 360 and it works,
