Warren said "more games than 2023" would be shown at the show case. I know one of you has the 2023 number locked and loaded, so what's the minimum we'll see this year, based on that?

They're just running out of ways to make the Xbox logo glow lol. 🫂
I certainly don't expect Everwild.

The Xbox side of the showcase does give off Everwild vibes.

I saw this trailer yesterday and thought, "Where can Everwild go now that a handful of these types of games has been announced/released?"

And despite that reservation, I still want to see what they've come up with.

no one expected fable last year either...

Everwild is quite different from that, though. That is a Monster Hunter like game. Everwild does not have any kind of hunting.

I don't know the number but I think we see basically every announced game besides TES and Blade, plus Gears and id.

Edit: Maybe not Everwild either. Hard to judge.

I was under the impression that it got rebooted.

Even more recently, I thought I saw something about it bearing some resemblance to Viva Pinata now? I haven't been following too closely, admittedly.
It was rebooted but a few years ago now. They should have the new vision well under way by now (not ready for 2025 release but they could probably show something if they wanted).

After 5 years, I have finally finished Gears 5 (on Insane as well).
I really need to go back to the original trilogy but want them remastered lol

June 9's double-feature broadcast also kicks off a week's worth of coverage here on Xbox Wire and The Official Xbox Podcast, featuring updates and deep-dives on a ton of games.

This is cool. I guess no Showcase Extended this year? Instead they are gonna spread it out over the week and in the podcast (which is like, as long as an Extended anyway lol)

"week's worth of coverage" could include a Showcase Extended that they announce later. But yeah maybe they decided a different format would get more attention.

On the other hand, it means the showcase should be light on Call of Duty content - and should bring in a ton of eyeballs for Xbox and their upcoming games. Can be a powerful tool to change some mainstream narratives

I am not a big COD person but I think this is exactly what they should be doing from a business perspective. Like you said, tons of eyeballs incoming. Not to mention start building that association again that Xbox is COD.

Including games and expansions/seasons:
  • 2023 showcase: 27
  • 2022 showcase: 32
  • 2021 showcase: 32
  • 2020 showcase (including the May and July events): 35
  • 2019 showcase: 30
  • 2018 showcase: 29
30 - 32 would be my guess for 2024.

I read Tom's remark as meaning first party games, not games in total? I could be wrong though.

Hey guys, can I generate some absolutely unwarranted hype about The Elder Scrolls VI? Please? I've always wanted to do something stupid like this here! Yes? Ok.

So, May is upon us, and with it a new batch of daily rewards in The Elder Scrolls Online. They're going big this time, and at day 3, players will be awarded a house -- for those that don't play ESO, houses are expensive, so this is kind of big.

Now here's a quote:

You'll receive the unfurnished house on just your third day of logins this month, starting things off with something spectacular. Speaking of spectacular, this house could be hinting at something special! You'll have to wait and see…

Well, it turns out this house is located in...

Make Hammerfell your home and get comfortable in this brand-new in-game house situated on the border of the Alik'r Desert and Bangkorai.

And Hammerfell is the rumoured location of the next Elder Scrolls...

The Elder Scrolls 6: Everything we know so far

The Elder Scrolls 6 is still happening

You know what this means, right? Yeah, NOTHING AT ALL!

Yeah, super cool, I know!!!

I'm having log-in issues on Fallout 3 through BC. I'm logged in on the Series dashboard, but when trying to sign in on the 360 dashboard in the game itself, it just spins a while and then freezes. My old gamer picture has also been replaced with a regular one..

Anyone else having issues signing in to BC titles?

EDIT: Hmm, can't sign into any BC title. Guess I'm not playing Fallout 3 today :(

People in the other thread saying Fable is still far off… like, do people just think these games aren't going to ever come out? Fable has been in development for 6 YEARS!

That sounds about right.

Pretty confident Avowed, Gears 6, Indiana Jones, and Starfield DLC will be there based on what Tom is saying, and obviously one of them will be the reveal of Lost Odyssey 2. Can't wait to find out what the other 25 odd games are.

The studio with two Live Service games having more employees than the mainly single player devs is really surprising for you?
Not to mention 343i had, just like Mojang, hundreds of employees that worked exclusively on managing all the IP licensing and novels publishing, TV Show and all that stuff for Halo.

Didn't think about the publishing rights management, but I figured that stuff was handled Xbox corporate size. And obviously Obsidian is an anomaly with how productive it is, but in general, yeah still somewhat surprised.

It's one of the reasons for the somewhat slow pacing for updates in Sea of Thieves.

They said in the last season announcement or whatever it was called that they're finally bringing in a dedicated Live Ops team for SoT which is gonna allow the content team to focus solely on that instead of having to pause everything whenever they felt the need to fix stuff in the game or work on the basic mechanics and QoL updates, not to mention bringing in extra manpower from external studios.
