It's simple-ish but that's exactly what I wanted tbh. I'm done with Fortnite and the MW games and this is good enough to fill that BO:CW void.

Love it personally having a lot of fun with it.

I don't mind the abilities. I feel like they're less of a pain that killstreaks in Call of Duty. I like that it's just you and your loadout, no deliberate mechanics to snowball players forward.

I think the abilities all seem powerful too. On paper the wall hack seems strong but actually the constant healing of the Far Cry faction or the ballistic walls that you can shoot through are all very strong abilities too.

I'm excited to see how ranked plays out and people synergies. The only thing I would say is that the characters from the game aren't very interesting. Which says a lot about Ubisofts franchises lately.

They state there's SBMM on the welcome playlist

Does buying the season pass substantially increase the speed in which you level up? Cuz holy fuck. Lol

Anyone else concerned that weapon attachments have so much stat benefit with no negative? I worry that newcomers will get wrecked by everyone with their upgraded weapons.

Didn't realize this game had no SBMM. That's a huge win - more excited to jump back in and play more now.

Played a bit more, unlocked the ACR. Seems fine.

Overall the game is fun enough, like it's well made on a level that it would be hard for there not to be some level of enjoyment.

The ACR also looks... off? Like it's just similar enough to invoke that nostalgia MW2 look but just off enough to feel like it was made from someone memories of what it looked like, so it gets parts right but other parts wrong. I feel like that kind of is what the game is in a nutshell for me, it has a lot of things that make me feel some level of nostalgia for Old School CoD but still feels off in a way those games didn't.

Like the controller aiming just doesn't feel right for some reason, it's not as snappy as Old CoD's where.

I'll probably play for a bit longer, cause again as I said on a level it's fun enough, but I'm not really convinced to put down any money on it. Doubly so with those prices in the cash shop, like holy fuck $10 for a single gun skin???

The slow ass weapon lvling is terrible. I don't care about BP lvling, whatever they made that grindy so you play more, but having attachments locked behind slow lvling sucks.

its almost laughable how slow it is. They just must not have much content to push out if they have to pad the basic stuff like weapon attachments, fearing people will get bored if they dont have a new carrot to chase.

Today's session was lots of fun. I am getting used to the movement and gunplay, which I prefer to MWIII. but they need to release this on steam. So many of my friends are ignoring it because it's not on steam.

Nice impressions. I'm curious to try it out with some buds.
Regarding the characters, I have zero investment in this so just floating a thought, but I wonder why they didn't do like a "Ubi All Stars" thing featuring some of their more well-known protagonists/NPCs, rather than Generic Squad from each franchise.

But then they could not sell legendary or even another tier of skins featuring those named characters.

Just played a bunch tonight with my buddy. Had a great time. The ACR is a great AR. Really having a great time with that.

Been mostly playing Phantom to unlock Gorgon, and I'll probably start unlocking Rafa via Echelon now.

I was a little iffy on trying Echelon because I'm not an "invis/flank" player, but the intel suit is a great active ability for my general playstyle.

Im not sure how to feel about the game so far as it's not hooking me so far.

Also the characters are so basic with no personality that I couldn't care less about skins or the BP atm.

Why not? Surely decking out your favourite Ubi star in even cooler gear would be an enticing prospect, no?
It just seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, considering that even CoD went from playing as Faceless Military McGruff to actual icons from the single player campaigns, etc.

Probably won't impact my personal enjoyment in the slightest (if I end up playing it) - just thinking out loud.

I agree, just feels like something they will monetize later on.

I'm in if they prioritize ping over everything else for matchmaking.

I have no issue getting wrecked if I have a fair chance. Cod has becom terrible and it all feels scripted

It's okay. Don't really have any issues with the game. It's just that these low stakes 4v4/5v5/6v6 mp games just aren't doing it for me anymore these days. Maybe playing ranked it would be okay, but at first glance the game doesn't really have the depth for it to be really cool or engaging. Overwatch I can enjoy, but other than that the stakes and excitement of BR games have killed these kinds of games for me I fear.

Also, the spawns are way too close on those escort modes. You literally push into the enemy spawn to try and get it over the line. It's a bit silly.

I've enjoyed what I've played so far, movement feels a little odd sometimes and I'd hope they improve how weapons feel. Otherwise I really like how they are utilising their IP, it's a fun gimmick having maps, factions and even weapons that are inspired by different games.

I bet they could tie in with new releases as well if this is successful.

Lastly I'm still surprised ubisoft didn't relaunch spies Vs mercs in a similar way to Siege as I think that would be a great original formula rather than all the failed battle royales they've tried to launch.

Really enjoying it so far, my only complaint is that even though I could have 2x the amount of objective points I am nowhere near top of scoreboard, but I have that complaint about every game these days.

I wish a games would prioritise objectives when it comes to the scoreboard like Battlefield 2 did.

finally got a chance to try it out on pc last night.

i agree with folks about the hit detection/reg is weird. the game has the same issue with most recent release of cod, where as soon you ads, the hit reg is not working. even tho your crosshair is right on them as soon you scope in. you need like 1 or 2s to be fully scoped in then upon fire, the shots will reg properly at where you aimed.
dont feel like theres any aim sway but it probably had that weird ads rng some ytber talked about on the recent cod.

well also add the fact i was using the preset marksman, the repeted shots also needed to be timely spaced or theres that weird aim jank. like the recent cod games too.

overall, minus the aim jank, game does feel very classic ps360 era cod. the movement speed, no crazy slide cancel etc. i do like that.
ttk feels slower than the usual fast ttk cod but not as slow as the recent mw3 due to more hp. i hated the current mw3 because the more hp making it slower ttk, really highlights the issue of ppls' latency that effect hitreg. (which i end up just playing hc when i got mw3)
xdf's slow ttk is atleast somewhat acceptable for me. just wish there wasnt those quick ads aim jank going on.

also tried on ps5 for 2 match, been a long time since i played competitive fps on controller. so not sure if its me or the game but yea, aim sucks. i thought i had better controller aim than what im performing right now lol
combination of most recent game having strong aim assist? but probably me needing to get use to the aiming.

i do feel matches on pc, ppl got better shot than the ppl i encounter on ps5 lol. you know, the moment you run into ppl and them needing , amount of time to kill you or time from visual contact into a shootout and dieing.

Having played more today, I can confidently say that whoever is leading map design should not be in that position. Almost every map is straight up dogshit.

I think the problem with hit registration is more to do with the feedback rather than the actual registration.

If we take this clip as an example

View: https://youtu.be/IKL9t2xL220?si=6C7SYkmugM5IUGSS

You can see that the game is actually registering every shot and the damage for each shot, but the health bar isn't updating to reflect that until the enemy is killed. So instead of seeing the health bar slide down, it appears as though the enemy took no damage, until they took all of it and died. But the hit was registered on each individual shot, the hit reg is clientside so of course it's being registered instantly.

But it makes it look like the shots aren't being registered... they are, but they have to call to the server and back before they are confirmed as damage. The fix for this could be that they calculate the damage display on the client side too, and that might change how players feel about the hit reg but the actual hit registration would be the same.

Anyway, it's not that the hit reg is off in the clip above. The hit registration is actually it's just no registered in sync with the client, so that the 'correct' outcome can be resolved. That might create some odd feedback at times, a mismatch between client and server that the player observes, but in most cases it's not off or unfair.

If the player here had died without seeing the damage of his shots, it wouldn't have been because the game wasn't registering, it would because the game recognised that the other client, hit their shots first and instead of registering a trade, it determined the correct outcome.

Not saying these are the types of experiences that everyone is having, but I think a lot of what people complain about is that mismatched feedback rather than lag creating scenarios that are genuinely unfair. If anything, at least to me in instances like this it seems like the server is doing it's job correctly.

It might be that they could improve this, and reduce the mismatch by having the game run at a higher tickrate, or perhaps it gets better as the servers ease up a little bit and more bandwidth becomes available. But as is, it seems unlikely to me that this gets a lot better anytime soon, but also on my end, it doesn't seem like this is a huge problem for the game. Yes higher tickrate servers would be better, but I believe they're running at 60 already which isn't terrible by any standard.

Kinda crazy that you can rack up 20-30 kills on a level 1 gun with the XP boost on.. And still not go up a level

Also, looks like there's 4 year one factions to unlock. Wonder what they're gonna be.

Seperate IP would be AC and Prince of Persia, but their other IP just don't fit.

Played a couple rounds, gotta say that the netcode in this game sucks. Was constantly stuck with 100+ ping and dying around corners and from enemies I never saw...

That said the game seems pretty fun, although it sucks that the objective modes I was playing were filled with people not playing the objective...

I'm level 22 I believe on XBX, and have unlocked all the AR, SMGs and shottys. Started off a little rough mimicking my experience with the beta, but I feel I turned a corner and really enjoying this now. Call me crazy but I think the maps are fine, reminds me of early day COD. Recent years all the recent CODs feel like a honeycomb with a bajillion lines of sight in every direction. This one feels a bit more "lane-ish".

Also, folks are ABSOLUTELY sleeping on the shottys AND the shield.
