FYI i posted it here because that game was ported by the same company that tried porting Ys8 at first and from what i understood remnants of their code is still in the games code. So yeah that and other threads i saw on other releases by NISA gives me the impression the support is going to be shortlived.
I don't understand why it crashes so much. I can play a couple hours without any problem and suddenly the game crashes no matter what I do. I disabled graphic options, replace the shader folder with the Steam version, set high priority of the app, I even tried to let only 2 proc cores (it worked for Nier Automata PC ver) but nope, when it happens, my only solution is to go elsewhere in the game and do something else then retry the area.
I really hope for a patch. I think I'll not buy the Switch version. I can't support this work.
if shit liek this takes 1 day to fix, may i ask why it wasnt fixed prior to release after 8 month delay?the daily updates actually have me feeling optimistic that this thing'll get figured out. Hopefully.
Seriously, they delayed it twice already, they might as well had delayed it again. Giving it a date while work was ongoing also made no sense.if shit liek this takes 1 day to fix, may i ask why it wasnt fixed prior to release after 8 month delay?
if anything, it raises more questions
Maybe they developed it on a machine with a one-core CPU, and never tested any controllers?if shit liek this takes 1 day to fix, may i ask why it wasnt fixed prior to release after 8 month delay?

Wow this fucking sucks, I would have been super pissed if this happened to me.I just lowered the difficulty to NIGHTMARE to test and suddenly the monsters do much more damage.
Apparently my save file is just bricked. If I try to change the difficulty off of INFERNO it warns me that I won't be able to set it back to INFERNO, and then I can't. There seems to be no way to fix the game's difficulty back to INFERNO. The options screen shows it correct, but when I save or load it says <NORMAL>, and the enemies stay on NORMAL difficulty despite the options saying otherwise. I've probably been playing with it on this difficulty for quite some time without even knowing.
What a way to ruin this game. I ignored and didn't care about all the little bugs I've found up to this point, but this one is just unacceptable.
EDIT: Found a big post about it. Yep. This is apparently a thing.

I heard some rumors of it being 128kbps. Apparently that's true then ;_;
That's a royal screwup right there. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised actually...
Preview branch is update obviously could have issues but issues fixed are
Issues addressed in the preview branch:
-Shader optimization
-Resolution list display bug
-dinput8.dll crashes
-Joystick input improvements
It's nice that they're doing that, but it's a bit annoying that people on GOG are getting left behind.Preview branch is update obviously could have issues but issues fixed are

I have had a history of screwed saves, so in games that let me I always made 2 alternating saves. Hopefully this shitty event gets that habit started for yourself too x.x
Considering they (seem) to have fixed the biggest issues, the question is even more apparent:
Why was released in this state instead of delaying it a couple of weeks?
Ah, the true Ys experience.Someone (Sorcerian) on the Falcom Discord was trying to run Ys VIII on a low-end laptop
Now everyone looks like Smurfs
Cool title screen though

Have we started another email campaign? I don't think they care or even know otherwise.Has Falcom said anything worthwhile about this so far ? I'm going to start to be disappointed in their silence after a while.

they won't release a statement about this themselves, it would probably scare away potential publishers for the future if they see how public they take a stand against partners. But they certainly know between the abysmal review score on Steam and big Japanese media outlets picking it up from the get go.Has Falcom said anything worthwhile about this so far ?
