Truer words have never been spoken until now.

He probably got DS2 and Elden Ring DLC.
That alone would make people watch his show

Yep. Don't have much to add right now, other than that exactly reflects my thoughts on the game. One of the best narratives in gaming ever, from a character point of view anyway.Yeah, I don't subscribe to the philosophy that the game is misery porn. It's absolutely intense, and the characters are put through quite the ringer both mentally, emotionally, and physically, but ultimately, I don't think it's misery porn. Spoilers!I mean, even for Abby, her and Lev get to escape with their lives, thanks to Ellie saving them both, and it's heavily implied that they reach the Fireflies in Catalina, and then Ellie is obviously alive and can follow her own path towards healing.
It's undeniable that a lot of dark, horrible things happen throughout the game, but I never got the impression that the game was reveling in it. It's not like Payback or Man on Fire, where each time the protagonist gets their sweet, sweet revenge, you hoot and holler and clap. I mean, the first kill, sure, because you're early in the narrative, and as the player, are actively seeking revenge, so it feels good to kill that jackass in the baseball cap who almost killed Dina lol. But the rest of the game isn't really framed like that. Each time Ellie encounters a bit of Abby's crew, it's less and less satisfactory to kill them. A pit in your stomach begins to grow, and you stop feeling as enthused about the mission as Ellie is. But Ellie isn't in your direct control, so all we can do is watch as she goes down this dark path, and hope that she snaps out of it. And she does, but not without cost to her and those around her.
Even so, both Ellie and Abby have a chance to live a better life, and be better people. That's not misery porn to me at all. They both went through hell, came out the other side alive, and now have a choice in where they want to go moving forward. That's hopeful.
Pretty much. Setting up a new studio, doing their new cloud thing and developing an AAA game? 5-6 years. This is probably from the studios aquired teh one that the game is probably further away right?
My favorite Ratchet and one of the best PS3 games.
Really hope they expand on the space exploration and moons and stuff in the future.
I've beaten Kena.
Literally nothing has prepared me for that final boss. Nothing.
Someone was fucking in a bad mood at Ember Labs when they designed it.
Game was really good but that was horseshit, they went too overboard. And I played on normal difficulty.
I want to be in team May 25th, please.

Kojima needs to see his friend.no way DS2 would be on his show instead of PS showcase. no way
that would be insane to me. its not a charity! but we'll seeSony already got a lot to show at their event. Them not showing DS2 there and instead give it to Geoff's show isn't that far-fetched imo.
Massive dub here! Some personal news: Interview went extremely well, and I'm now on the company Slack and begin working tomorrow!
Unless there is no showcase lol.no way DS2 would be on his show instead of PS showcase. no way
sony doesnt need him to promote their game, c'mon! if they didn't have a showcase i would agree but it doesn't make sense to me when they're going to have one right before his show. It's not charity, yeah. Sony also gets something out of it. A first party trailer reaching a different audience than their PlayStation showcase audience.

I mean I think they'll want a big showcase to show off the next couple years of games.Y'all are setting yourself up for disappointment with all this showcase hype based on a single rumor lol.
I'm morbidly curious to see the reactions in here if they just announce a Spider-Man 2 State of Play later this month. Then a third-party SoP in June.
I'm #team no showcase. I still think most of their first party stuff is too far out, and they could just use SGF and the VGAs or other State of Plays for a couple reveals like Helldivers and Factions.
I mean...it's not that early. The fact that it seems early to see new games from most of Sony's studios doesn't help either.
The studio have 130 devs
I seriously am shocked how good the game was considering it was their first game, they get "it". From decent writing to simple but frantic combat they avoided many missteps, not to mention how good it looks and how fluid the animation was.LOL, I'm laughing not at you, but with you, because I came away from that final boss with the same feeling.
I absolutely love the game to pieces, and am just blown away by what the small team at Ember Labs was able to accomplish with their first ever game, but that final boss was infuriating. I was also playing on Normal difficulty.
I can't remember where I said this, or if I said it in conversations with my friends about it, but your sentiment was pretty much word for word what I said. From Software games (which I think were an inspiration for Kena's boss battles and combat), tend to teach you the "rules" of the game, and the mechanics you need to master in order to overcome what the game is going to throw at you. Everything that a boss pattern does against the player in a From game, is an extension of what normal combat encounters in the game are like, just amped up a few notches, because Boss.
Kena, though, doesn't do that. Most of the enemies in the game can be bodied with little to no effort, so, as a player, you aren't really being encouraged to explore the deeper and more complex combat mechanics and systems, so when you encounter your first boss, and they're pulling some Bloodborne shit on you, you're completely unprepared for it! I remember being so cocky and confident during that very first boss battle, only to fuck around and find out real damn quick lol.
The final boss is even worse in that regard. It made the final moments of the game for me really sour, which sucks, because it's a beautiful game. Two other games have made me feel that way: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (loved the game, but the final boss was incredibly frustrating, and I was just glad to be done with it by the end), and Dying Light 1. That final run up to the final boss was just incredibly unfun and frustrating, and soured me on it as well, despite me really enjoying the game up until that final boss encounter!
It's funny how that is sometimes, where a poorly executed final battle can really bring your experience down. I'll always recommend those games, because I do love them, but I admit I warn folks that the final boss of those games was frustrating for me, personally, just to give them a heads up in some way lol.
But yeah, I adore Kena, and I really can't wait to see what Ember Labs does next (and I'm suspecting Sony is also very keen to see how their next game does...), but man, that final boss...
what? sony haven't announced anything from their studios since... 2020? it's not early at all!The fact that it seems early to see new games from most of Sony's studios doesn't help either.
Some personal news: Interview went extremely well, and I'm now on the company Slack and begin working tomorrow!
remember, sony didnt have a showcase right before TGA lol.I mean the reveal for DS2 was at the game awards. Different audiences, larger reach outside your core platform etc. Plenty of reasons to show games at other events.
I'd expect it to happen more, especially for their live-service games.

Yeah Sony seems interesting not only in the game but the tech they have. Some really interesting things going on across Sony studios.Very excited to see this team grow. Can't wait to see what Jade is cooking.
To be clear, I don't know what Sony's exact plans are when it comes to a showcase or State of Plays and all that. But I know a good amount of teams are at a point where things are certainly ready to be shown. That's exciting.Congrats!

Ghost of Tsushima 2 likely next year.
Probably something from Team Asobi.
Firewalk studios.
Helldivers 2.
Some XDev games.
A good place to announce some PC ports potentially.
I would trust Shinobi on this:
Yup its going to be something unique. Kind wild to think that Jade is under PS. She is underrated in the industry I feel.Yeah Sony seems interesting not only in the game but the tech they have. Some really interesting things going on across Sony studios.
Congrats man!!! 👍👍🤗Some personal news: Interview went extremely well, and I'm now on the company Slack and begin working tomorrow!
