Were the witness reports confirmed? Sounds like they significantly change the context of the situation and would make the firing of the guy very unjust.

Honestly the appropriate reaction from the store would be to kick the kids out, not throw soda at them. from the business's point of view they can't have employees assault a customer no matter what, it just looks bad on them. though if I were the manager in that scenario I would have scolded the employee and told him next time ban the kids from the restaurant there rather than his reaction.

As has been stated previously, he didn't work for the resteraunt.

Just to clarify, the person who threw the soda was not an employee of Whataburger. He was a part time door man at a bar. He was fired from that position though after he was identified in this video.

This post is a bunch of horseshit.

Apparently you can only react when atrocities are being commited.

And separating children from parents and putting them into camps is not as evil as Isis! They need to start throwing them from the rooftops then the moderates will allow us to be upset.

Pathetic. Moderates are the most pathetic bunch in existence. Useless group of nothing. Nothing of value would be lost if they wouldn't exist.

Politically, moderate is just a nicer way to say coward.

Talking shit like that... would really deserve to get slapped, doesn't matter that he's 16. Getting soda thrown at him is nothing, he did the worse thing (allegedly). And while it sucks the man was fired, I understand that they had to. Though if it was just the hat, then it's bit different. But reading what he allegedly said is sickening.

Edit: It's ridiculous to call this an assault, throwing soda at someone and taking their hat. Though if it's true that he said what the witness claims, yeah that would be a verbal assault.

Taking the MAGA hat reminded me of this

Ignorant posts at best. If you guys actually understood the term you'd realize how ridiculous it is to apply those specific accusations to such a diverse (in terms of motivation and support) group of voters. Get specific and call out the people you have a problem with (white republican voters) if you truly find cowardice disgusting.

When I thought the kid's main offense was wearing a hat, I thought throwing pop at him was a bit much (though understandable). Now that I know what they were saying, I think the kids were lucky he didn't do more.

I'm not advocating violence, but some people are just horrible people. That they get a whit of sympathy online makes me ill.

Getting fired. Okay, whatever, we live in a society where you're never off the clock, and businesses can probably legally fire you for sneezing funny. It's awful, but it's the truth.

The arrest is just nonsense.

Here's what I can't figure out: Why would a 16 year old kid give a single shit about politics? When I was 16 I was listening to punk/poppunk and hated the concept of politicians. How the fuck are kids in San Antonio who aren't even old enough to vote stumping for Trump?

How is this happening?

Well this makes me sick. Fired, sure, I'm not surprised about that. But arrested? For fucks sake, this kid and his idiot friends were being openly racist, not only that but it was egregiously over the top racism in a public space. And for some reason being mad about that makes "The left" intolerant and we are babies for not walking away from that? Fuck that man, this country is such a shit hole now, I don't get how people like this even exist it's baffling how little empathy people can manage to have.

The guy getting arrested just shows he didn't go far enough. Should have given the lil shit a beat down and snatched that phone and thrown it into a fucking river.

Take solace in the fact that this motherfucker learning the wrong lesson from this means that the next time he mouths off it will end even worse for him.

Ahhhhh... nevermind. Though if those kids were making racist remarks the store should have kicked them out/banned them regardless.

The ironic thing about your point is that the state we're in this climate because POC and LGBT have been subject to this blind eye for years, and now people are fed up with this treatment and will no longer tolerate it. So yeah, you get the social norm you erect by fucking over people for centuries.

But let's criminals shoot up a churches:

Rob people of their land:

Fuck over people's healthcare:

Imprisoning children:

Murdering children in the street:

And all of this still being the norm in this day and age.

Asking for civility when civility was never, ever, given or shown in the first place. Please.

Thank you for this truth.

Violence is only okay when white people commit it. The origin of the US is bathed in violence and it's celebrated dearly. Pissy White Men tired of being taxed and spilling blood for it.

That's perfectly okay for some reason. The same people would shit themselves during Nat Turner's revolt. A man who decided enough was enough and took his fate into his own hands just like those Pissy White Men.

Weak people and the moderates who fill this thread instantly hide behind "No violence ever!", "2 wrongs don't make a right!" completely ignoring the brutalization and the bloodiness that Turner witnessed of American Slavery that called him to action.

You simply wouldn't even have this country existing (on multiple occasions) if it wasn't for violence.

If someone is talking about the genocide of my people, and making extreme terroristic threats, they are gonna get the hands.

Because people have a right to defend their existence, and people absolutely don't have to tolerate someone who wishes for your extinction.

And because they aren't as bitch made as some of you are.

That would have been good. In addition to losing income for his wife and kids by getting fired he also should have gotten a felony, further endangering future employment opportunities for the rest of his life and cementing the teen's victimization complex.

Wow, some people here are OK with group of people openly talking about violent acts against minorities in front of other people and thinking they can get away with it. Plus, it was a drink, sure it's startling to have someone react to you in an aggressive manner, but this kid could have, and probably should have gotten it worse than that.

He was talking a bunch of racist bullshit and a black man walked over and confronted him. The kid didn't stop, so he got soda to the face.

The alt-right people need to chill otherwise they're going to piss off the wrong people. This dude was relatively composed.

I stand by what I said. I have issues with both the deplorables and their unprincipled enablers.
