Sorry but the current build of Comrades is a piece of crap. The game is INSANELY bugged and they should have delayed it again.
-sometimes enemies in a mission won't spawn, forcing you to quit.
-matchmaking issues. If matchmaking won't find someone and you decide to retry, 99% of the time the game will switch to offline mode. You need to quit to the main menu and load the game again to go online. In 2017 this is bullshit.
-grindy, grindy, too grindy progression. I'm level 7 and I have level 23, 28 etc missions. It's stupid. And it's stupid because to unlock missions you need to farm Kw, to farm Kw you need to repeat missions you already beated. To beat the level 20+ missions, you also need to grind for exp.
-too many loading screens. Come on, it's insane. It's even worse than XV, but at least here was partially justified by the fact that, when you load the world, you only see other loading screens if you fast-travel or finish a chapter. Here you have a loading screen right in the beginning (of course). You have than another loading screen when you select a mission. You are now in the cactuar fight, when it ends, another loading screen. You are in the (second) hub, guess what? Another loading screen. You finish the mission, loading screen to the dinning scene. You finish to eat, loading screen. What the fuck. You spend more time watching the screen and doing nothing than playing.
-stupid level up system for weapons. Why a weapon has 30 or 50 levels if I can max it up right after I get it? Why do I need to select ingredients to power it up if you can always max it out in one sitting? Give each weapon like three levels, but do it so the way each power-up is actually worth.
It's not listed as an add-on for the main game, so I couldn't find it on PS Store. Thanks for the link.
Chocobo Carnival was closed at the end of September, so you can't get the Dream Egg there that you needed to get Noctis' special AC costume anymore. You can only still get the AC:O costume for the whole party if you play the Assassin's Festival DLC (until the end of January, iirc).Just loaded up the game in forever lol. Never got to do the majority of the Carnival stuff. Is there any way to get the Dream Egg in the Assassins festival? Is there any way to get the assassins creed outfit without the Egg?
---
Also, what is the recomended way to play the DLC chapters? Should I play them in order of release or just however I want? Thinking about playing through the game again on NG+, should I wait and play the DLC chapters when they occur in the story or just play them first since you get some good items from them?

If you wait for the PC version you might as well wait for the free story updates next year to come out so you can play the "definite" edition and compare. Thanks for the info guys! Really want to replay this game again soon but cant decide if I should wait for the PC version since im not getting a PS4 PRo anytime soon lol. This game would look and run soooo good on a PC that would be a huge benefit to the overall experience.

Throughout the next year. Will be new cutscenes and editing of existing cutscenes in the main story. The concrete road map is supposed to be revealed this month if plans haven't changed. Also possibly a second Season Pass (likely with DLC for Luna and Ardyn going by recent comments by Tabata about the June survey's results). The first bit of the free story updates came with the September patch (new cutscnes in Chapter 12 explaining more about the gods' lore and the Astral War, and an extended scene with Luna and Gentiana talking).Oh man I thought those were done already lol. Do we know when they are coming or what they will cover?
- Tabata and the dev team has been thinking if it's really okay to just let it ''end'' with Episode Ignis. With the survey that was done earlier this year, taking in the feedback of the players, everyone including Tabata, Ofuji and the development team thought about what they should do. FFXV has been to many different events all throughout the world and Tabata has been to each of them, meeting and talking to the fans. He asked what they liked, what they wanted and what they disliked. He thanks to all those that supported him and he says that after speaking to everyone, the biggest voice was ''Please don't let it end there'' and ''We want you to continue''. The demand for a bigger expanded story was big. Tabata wants to respond to these demands from the fans. They want to continue expanding the game through 2018 next year. He clarifies that as a company there are set plans and schedules and changing them is difficult. He apologizes that as a developer, their goal is to create new games. And he states that BD2 already has finalized their next big project, considering that, they thought about how they could balance this and continue to support FFXV next year. After after overcoming many obstacles and changing the structure of the development team, they are able to say that they are able to continue development next year.
- They already have plans for what to accomplish next year and that is delivering on what fans want most. They will continue to and further development the story, filling up missing information.
- It's not going as far as a sequel, but it's about the strengthening of the existing game and story. Tabata acknowledges that there were lacking aspects of the game. Not just the back stories of the characters or character development, but also with the world and lore as the world itself has a story of it's own. They have received much feedback on these fronts as well as in the survey and they worked hard until now to create a development structure to be able to deliver with everything we got. And again now, they are able to say, that this will be happening.
What deal?Damn, I did not expect the Black Friday sale to be so damn good. I should have waited to get the season pass.
Oh well, supporting the art, right?
They recently anounced that they're gonna do free story updates throughout next year to try to fix the narrative issues and possiby also do a second Season Pass because of fan demand. So... I don't know. If you waited this long you could maybe just wait another half a year or how long they're gonna work on it next year to have a (hopefully substantially) better experience.Do you guys think now is a good time to pick up and play the game? I bought the game at launch and as soon as they started dropping massive content updates on a regular basis I decided to stop playing and wait for them to finish adding stuff to the game.
Are they still adding content on a regular basis?
I was hoping that maybe with a literally reset on a new forum, XV threads would be less embarrassing and obnoxious but they're not it seems.

I just watched kingsglaive for the first time, was this supposed to come before the game?
I get Chronologically how it fits with the timeline but my god trying to watch that without knowing the overall plot of the game would be mad haha.
Also is it confirmed that Comrades will be getting any additional content? Has square commented officially at all?
Honestly, you don't really need to know Kingsglaive at all for FFXV. They should just add a few cutscenes in the main game of the bros mourning and talking about their home more. That you lost your kingdom and father is all you need to know.I just watched kingsglaive for the first time, was this supposed to come before the game?

Eh, deaf ears and all that. Don't let haters steer the discussion. The FFXV team has shown more resolve and grit to acknowledge their downfalls and try to fix them when most other dev teams would have left it to rot by now. If people can't recognize and respect that then shame on them. :)
It's like some people either go out of their way to be assholes or literally can't imagine that anyone else is different from them. Also love the multiple people who showed up who haven't played the game, but just "heard" about it lol.
Oh well... Maybe after FF7R comes out people will move on to that.
Yes to both. The extent of what is coming to Comrades is unknown but there is still a lot of possible content (and Sigils) that are not available at the moment.

Outside of the fact that a future update will make the bros playable in Comrades, they haven't said anything yet, but it's obvious they're gonna add new missions, costumes etc. I mean, even the main game has weekly timed hunts.
Or calling Tabata a sociopath and snake oil salesman etc. :DTrue. I don't think anything will top one post basically comparing Tabata to Trump and Nomura to Clinton though.
It really is addictive for me, which no online RPG so far managed to do for me, heh. It's just a shame that it's held back because of some of the really badly thought-out design decisions like not being able to easily play with a set group of people or friends e.g. through a party invite system, the unnecessary pre-mission camp with a long loading screen, too long cooking/result menu after missions, forced return to Lestallum after every, often short mission with a long loading screen and with no option to instantly repeat a mission or select another one without returning to Lestallum, having to return to the title screen after losing a connection/returning from Sleep Mode to reconnect to servers manually etc. If they fixed those I could see myself play this quite a bit longer if they kept supporting it with content. I wouldn't even oppose purely cosmetic micro-transactions/loot boxes in that case, which I normally don't care about at all, but it's a way to keep supporting service games unless they do paid expansions (or subscription fees, which obviously is highly unlikely).Yeah I meant the other way round, knowing FFXV is essential to actually enjoying Kingslaive. Im at about 70 hours in FFXV and I think I'd have no idea what was going on during the movie if that wasn't the case.
Also thanks for the updates on comrades guys! Its super addictive isnt it, Im at level 13 atm. Sort of fucked my lightning katana though as it's 5 levels under max and the strength is slightly under max, too late to save it imo. That's what I get for recklessly levelling I guess.
And the thing is, I don't really care if people dislike the game but it's this attitude some people have where they think because they're a Real Final Fantasy Fan™ they have superior taste than everyone else and when they say something's garbage then everyone else needs to fall in line and agree. Like people can go into a XV thread and literally give a one sentence reply saying the game is shit and all its characters are shit (which has happened) without any reason why and people will accept that but XV fans are expected to write essays on why they liked the game.
Also the fact that people try to argue that the FF cycle isn't a real thing is just...lmao.

Absolutely. I feel like I get stuck in a loop of:
Person: "FFXV sucks because of a, b, and c."
Me: "Actually, I thought a, b, and c were cool, and here's a brief reason why."
Person: "No. You're wrong. The game is bad because of a, b, and c."
And I'm like... okay, I guess you're more interested in proclaiming why you hated it than in having a discussion. I'll just leave you to it. It really does feel like some people are upset at people liking the game at all, too, like it disturbs the narrative in their head. So then they keep insisting you write a novel "responding" to all of their points. It's exhausting.
I've witnessed too many gaming cycles to think they're not real lol
Exactly. I was never interested in Versus so nothing about it (except for maybe the Insomnia Invasion being reworked into a movie) being scrapped really bothered me but there are things that were scrapped (or at least concepts not fully delivered on) from once Tabata took over that I'm definitely salty about and/or disappointed in but it never really seems like people who dislike the game are interested in hearing that. On the other site for instance, both men and women would talk about how much Luna sucked and even when I, a woman, would say 'Hey, I don't mind this character!' I was usually ignored and men who liked her were pretty much talked down to. Like Luna's character has problems that should be discussed but again, either everything is awful or you're a fanboy with no taste.
(Off topic but on my blog I was discussing about how I truly don't feel that Stella would have been that great considering Nomura's track record -Kairi hasn't had development in 15 years despite being the main female character of KH- and so I ended uptalking about how there's been something bothering me about how characters like Stella, Agni, etc. are received by the fandom from the viewpoint of someone who hasn't had representation in these games at all. I would be interested in hearing you guy's opinions if you read it.)
Oh yeah, absolutely. I actually adressed too yesterday that I doubt they have the ressources to keep on supporting and patching Comrades substantially, but who knows... Maybe they're gonna take the feedback and reboot it as a standalone full-blown FFXV: Online someday if they see it being potentially popular enough :DTo be honest I was pretty surprised to see 9.5 hours play time flash up on the pause menu, I just don't know if it is popular enough for Square to bother doing that much more. You got to think this is DLC for something else, sure the game sold 7 million copies but what is the cross section of those players which also have Plus/Gold, are likely to buy DLC/season passes and have an interest in multiplayer content on what was advertised as a single player experience. It has got to be low.
Even if a lot of people jumped on board to start with, I could see the long ass loading times and complexity of playing with friends putting people off. Not to be a negative nancy I love the game I just fear for its future.
Yeah, they commented the results at a fan-event during gamescom and said that Luna and Ardyn were the most popular choices. Then during TGS they announced that they would do free story updates throughout next year and also possibly a second Season Pass. The road-map for the new content was supposed to be revealed this month, if plans haven't changed.Did Square Enix reveal the survey result? The survey where you had to do on the game, selecting only one of the many selections. Is there going to be a second season pass? And is there a chance there will be a Complete Edition/Gold Edition/Game of the Year Edition for this game?
A while ago a survey asked about which kind of content we as fans would like to see in the future - so, who won the race?
A: It was Ardyn´s backstory that the majority voted for - so we clearly got the message he´s the person fans want to know more about. We´re not sure as of yet how we´ll do it though - it´s a lot of story, and telling a character´s story is always the most difficult and detailed part of a game. So, we don´t know yet whether we´ll make it another game, no dlc though, it would be a full game, or a movie, comic etc. We really want to tell his story though. Second in the survey was Luna´s story by the way.
