Can anyone help me with my HDR issue?

I have LGC7P and while it should support HDR, XOX is telling me it doesn't.

Is there any way to fix this?

I went from my 360 to the x, skipping the x1. How do I transfer my digital games? Some of them it did automatically when I logged in with my account but others not at all. Umvc3 is on my 360 for example but it didn't transfer. Same with Rayman Legends. Do I have to tranfer them to an external hd?
Your digital games are automatically available on the one (games & apps -> ready to install; it might take a few seconds to display all the games).
But not all 360 games are playable on the one. Full list of compatible games -> https://majornelson.com/blog/xbox-one-backward-compatibility/

If you want to transfer your savegames you have to use the 360-savegame-cloud (requires gold account on the 360).

Check the drive on the pc with a software like crystal disk info -> https://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html (7.5.0 standard zip edition version is enough; direct download link -> https://crystalmark.info/redirect.php?product=CrystalDiskInfo ). Sounds like the drive might be faulty.

Thanks, you were right, there was a bad sector or corrupt something. Did "first aid" on it using my macbook disk utility, then formatted it to OSX standard, copied 200 gigs of random stuff to it from the macbook. No issues came up. Then I plugged it back into the xbox one, success! Recognized the drive instantly, xbox formatted it in less than 30 seconds.

Much appreciated!

Also to the fella who thought the USB bus speed may have been the culprit, a good thought too given the "start-stop-start" while formatting. The front USB port shut off (or power down?) when the console is off, while the rear port stays on. So keeping it in the rear port.

Does anyone else have an issue with the Media Player app just not successfully streaming movies from other devices on their network?
To get specific eventually it just crashes.

I have a Synology NAS device that I store movies and video on.
I also use Universal Media Server on my gaming PC (Win 10) and store videos both locally and on an external drive on it.

It seems to only be an issue with the One X. When I break out the PS3 and use Universal Media Server it works no issues.
It does not matter the type of encoding of the video file.
Eventually the Media Player app just crashes. Sometimes it happens after 15 minutes. Sometimes it happens after 90 minutes. I can always go back and restart the video, and when it does crash again, it will be a completely different part of the video.

I do not believe it is my network as I can successfully stream an entire video file via my Macbook Pro to my Chromecast using the app Videostream, so if it was an issue with my network I believe I would encounter issues here and I never do. And again, it works via the PS3 no issues.
Another note, all of the other devices I mentioned above (My One X, NAS and Windows PC) are all hardwired.

I am not necessarily looking for a solution although if someone has one I am absolutely all ears. I am wondering if it is somehow audio related so if someone can share the audio settings they use while using the Media Player app I am down for trying those. I do have a Denon receiver in the mix, etc. I just feel like if it was audio related, I would see it more consistently and it would also be the same parts of the video files, etc.

So what I am looking for just as much as help is just confirmation from others they also encounter issues. If that is the case I will just give up on trying to figure out what is going on and call it a day as I do have the Chromecast solution as I shared, just the audio through it is not as good as going straight through the X.

TIA,
DL

Is RE7 getting an X update soon? I read it was an enhanced game but I just popped it in and it looks bad compared to the Pro version so I don't think it's 4K, though the HDR is good.

I have a strict NAT type out of nowhere and these options I've never seen before have me choose a port on the One X. Is there anymore information on this or how to do it.

I was really skeptical with the device before launch, but playing AC origins on 4k HDR surely looked amazing.

Finally playing through Catherine using BC was also nice.

From 'quake area to big OH.
My X is going to arrive next week. Can someone explain to me how the Dolby Atmos App works? I don't have an Atmos ready sound system yet, but it also works with any headphones plugged in the controller?

Also, is there a list of compatible games somewhere? I got FFXV during the recent sale to test an X enhanced game, but I'd also like to get a game that demonstrates Dolby Atmos well. :)

Nice avatar ;)

Excited to use Play Anywhere with Shadow of War. Instead I went 400gigs over my cap because the Windows 10 store is such a huge pile of shit that after multiple issues trying to download it, after resetting the Win10 stores Cache and letting the game download overnight, I came away with a 600gig Game download that was allegedly only 90% done. WTF this shit just cost me 80 extra fucking dollars, not to mention any additional charges now through the rest of the month! I know this isnt EXACTLY related to XoneX but play anywhere was a huge deciding factor in me getting it, and I am really fucking pissed about this.

The Windows store is so bad. I have had so many issues in the past that I had given up, but I figured my reinstall around the Coffee Lake release would fix everything up. Nope. I still can't download any Play Anywhere games that I bought over these past sale days. I don't have any caps so that's not a problem here, but damn.. I want my freaking games installed MS.

I currently have 5 games failing to install over multiple days, plus 2 failing to update.

Anybody experience issues while watching a 4k bluray movie? I've had audio stop randomly at times and sometimes the movie freezes. This occurred on different movies.

I just got my X and I'm thinking of opting out of the Xbox Beta program on my current One before I start the X. The frequency of updates are annoying me, I get updates once every few days at times and take some time to download and install.

Debating on it though, any suggestions?

You can chose to move from beta group to delta or omega. Omega receives may be once or twice a month the update, just before it goes live for everyone. Or you can simply decide to opt out completely, knowing that if you wan to come back later you will start in omega group (or delta, I'm not sure about that).

IMO if you are not ready to accept updates (and bugs) you shouldn't be in the insider program. It was called "preview program" but it's a real beta program testing with all the problems and annoyances that could happen in this kind of process.

Debating whether or not to pull the trigger

I would be doing it entirely for Halo 5 and whatever they're gonna do with the Master Chief Collection update.

Edit: Was trying to figure out why the $15 off for using the app wasn't working, hit confirm pay, and without asking for any of my payment information or confirmation, it confirmed my order. What the hell. And cancelling literally seconds after ordering doesn't seem to be working either.

Ah okay, I was pretty eager about it when it was first launched but lately I've been getting annoyed at the constant updates.

Like you mentioned, I'll check out the Omega and see how it goes.

I popped my my brand new Forza 7 disc in last night as I was going to bed and left my console on so it could install. Woke up and it was only at 30% and paused, and whenever I keep trying to restart it pauses almost immediately and says the disc is dirty or damaged. Brand new game, not dirty or damaged whatsoever.

Yes, I have the same problem (I reported it through the console / insider app).

I managed to break it down (at least for me) that the problem only happens with videos with a high resolution / bitrate. SD content plays fine, but HD crashed the app after X minutes.

Could it be pulling game updates from live? I doubt the 4k assets are on the game disk.

I just saw that they don't give you a headset anymore with the console, I wonder why. Does the X have bluetooth?

they stopped including them after they added the 3.5mm jack since you can use pretty much any non-apple headset now.

exchange the game, it's rare but occasionally a game wont be pressed correctly and you get problems like that. I've seen it happen with a ps1 and a dreamcast game.

Glad I can join the club!

Use the Movies & TV app. I have been using it to view videos on my QNAP NAS without any issues. I think the media player app is no longer supported.
I just opened the Movies & TV App for the first time. I had no idea it existed. If the Media Player app is no longer supported, would be nice if they indicated that somehow.
Thank You. If that is all it is, I will be a damn happy camper. I prefer to now use the One for everything if possible. I have always used a mish mash of devices to achieve certain things. If I can get it to just the One, especially for my wife's sake, that would be great.

Yeah, I pretty much only use high resolution stuff, I have my TV for a reason is the way I look at it. So I would like to be able to stream it like on other devices. Thanks for confirming you also have the issue though. Makes me not as crazy trying to troubleshoot it as if it was only myself.

Thanks again Spanic. I am watching a file that crashed the Media Player app multiple times last night through Movies & TV, and it is playing right now and seems to be solid.

Yep, the Windows 10 Store is beyond awful and they can't even get a simple UI with important yet simple info like download speed and the amount of data that has downloaded compared to the overall data amount to complete the download, etc to display accurately allowing the user to make any sense of it. I've been trying to download updates for Gears 4 and Halo Wars 2 unsuccessfully for the better part of the year.

Just another reason why I decided to get an Xbox One X so I can reliably play Halo (other Xbox exclusives as well) and keep it updated if not on my most powerful system (PC) at least one similar to it with a reliable download/update frontend and backend in Xbox Live.

No problem i was in the same situation a while back. I can also confirm that the Movies & TV app can also play local 4K HDR videos. You may only have issues if your on Wi-Fi as the file sizes may be very large.

So can Atmos work with any games w/ a surround soundtrack or is it supported with Atmos games? The product notes seem to suggest the former?

Completed Wolfenstein 2, and looked through the Xbox One enhanced games I haven't played yet. I decided to buy The Witcher 3 in anticipation but for now it was a choice between Titanfall 2, Super Lucky's Tale or go and replay Fallout 3.

I chose fallout 3.

Its like nostalgia, when you remember a game being amazing graphically and go back to it to find its awful... But this wasn't the case.
The graphics are so much improvement now, the framerate hasn't dipped, (and I remember the crawling along at 20 fps if you were lucky when it originally came out). The resolution boost is amazing and it's like playing a game that only game put a couple of years ago. It just cements how bad fallout 4 fell with the rpg elements. But I want to mention one thing:
Load times.
Original game going in and out of settlements or basic houses could sometimes take a while. But now they are so much more improved, the small analogue timer for the loading screen goes away so quickly, there are times you dont even have enough time to rearrange your underwear!

Its an amazing game and in my top 10 of all time and it amazes me how well MS have implemented everything and because of this I am going to be staying with the Xbox ecosystem, yes PS4 has some great exclusives, MS just seems to care about legacy titles.

Reading about how nice Fallout 3 is really has me hoping they do he same improvements to New Vegas also (I still need to go back and finish the branching quest lines)

Suddenly my Xbox can't connect to wifi. I know is a router problem because all of my other devices can connect to it without problems. Also, I put my cellphone as a wifi hotspot and it can connect to it flawlessly.

The thing is that this is a shared wifi router, and I just cant switch it on and off as I please. Is there another way?

Its on Best Buy's page but its been updated slightly. Theirs is a LG 27UD69P-W
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-27-...c-monitor-black-white/5770300.p?skuId=5770300

Its a 60 Hz,HDMI 2.o monitor, with a display port for PC gaming also. The inputs are 2 HDMI ports(both 2.0), one display port(think its 2.1 but not sure sorry. No HDR though, those are seriously expensive, very near the $1,000 range. There was suppose to be one or two out there for $650 I believe but the reviews were abit mixed, claiming the HDR wasn't the greatest in them. But I don't really know for sure, just going by a few impressions I read awhile back.
Anyways the one I bought was infact at Best Buy, almost a month ago now. There are suppose to be two versions of this monitor.

LG 27UD69P
LG 27UD69P-W

Not sure what the difference are between them. I tried looking up the differences but never found out what it actually is,probably something minor. Even went to LG's website and they don't say the differences, maybe its a previous model that has been discontinued?
The One I bought, and also the one in the first impressions video is listed at BestBuy.
That being LG 27UD69P-W

I'm thinking the price may drop so best to wait abit. It was $500.00 a month ago but dropped to $429.00 for a week only, thats when I grabbed it. Its $500.00 again but it'll probably drop in few days so just wait it out if youre wanting this monitor.

Overall its an IPS monitor. Suppose to have amazing pixel density and the colors, contrast, and clerity are amazing. Its also a freesync monitor, meaning it'll help out games with troublesome frame rates. But from what I've read it can only do so much,it'll help give you frames back but if a game is horrid in frame rates that count be helped.

I've had no trouble with the monitor at all. No ghosting, no input lag at all. Has lots of pre set game modes, cinematic modes for films, picture viewing, web surfing, etc. menu are easy to navigate, and the build overall is really nice. The monitor is built on a sturdy base,so no rocking back and forth, very stable. It even swivels, or spins, in that you can adjust the monitor (turn it left to right) so that it can be positioned to play games like PacMan or Japanese arcade shooters in the proper screen viewing mode. Its overall a damn good piece of hardware and am very happy with it.

If it is shared and is somewhere you can't access, you may still be able to access the router's admin settings and reboot it.

Few things you can try:

  • Forget the WiFi network on your console. Make sure you actively remove it as a remembered device and have to reinput your wireless code.
  • Set up a static IP for the Xbox on your router. It shouldn't require a router restart and coukd solve the problem.
  • Failing those look at using the DMZ (a quick Google should provide a good guide).
When you say it can't connect, do you mean the Xbox isn't "seeing" the router at all or it just doesn't have internet connectivity?

If nothing else speak to whoever you share the router with and ask if you can restart it. Often solves these kinda of issues.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Accidentally ordered from eBay due to one-click ordering they didn't warn me about, cancelled immediately, and now it's shipping because they couldn't cancel it.

What the hell even is eBay.

Now I've gotta like... Transfer content and licences, sell my old Xbox One, and see if I can turn this around and make it worthwhile.

No worries with WiFi. All my devices are hardwired so I am good there.

Just wanted to say thanks again. I used the Movies & TV app this afternoon and got through a whole movie. I did get a spinning circle twice for about a second or two twice during viewing, which was a tad disappointing as I have never seen it with the PS3 and it was only a 9 GB file and I know without any doubt my network can handle that size without any interruptions, but I will take a second or two delay over crashing any day of the week.
I am actually going to give the local 4K HDR a go as I was never able to stream that on my network. It always crapped out. Considering they are 45 GB files I just figured I would never stream them, but local I am down to give a shot.

Germany
Got an Xbox (an S but whatever, hoping for a hardware upgrade program next year) - I have a question though: Can I redeem US game codes on a German Xbox Account? Or will that be a problem?
Can I play physical games I buy from the US on an EU system?

Seems like the best thread to ask, since there are so many Xbox users active atm.
