Congrats man. I just got mine a few days ago.
Oh boy, you're in for a treat. FH3 looks amazing on the one X!
So I have the 4k Netflix plan and 4k everything else working fine on my Xbox One X, but how come there are no 4k badges next to shows that should be 4k, it just says HD? Doesn't look like they are outputting 4k either. What gives? :S
edit: Oh wow, it's because the Onkyo port wasn't HDCP 2.2. Everything else works fine in 4k. Switched to a different port and it worked.

My X runs oddly hot in instant on while idle. While on and playing games runs relatively cool. Also after a prolonged period of being idle in instant on, I somehow lose my internet connection and have to unplug the wired connection and full shutdown and restart. This doesn't happen when in energy saving mode which sucks because I want background downloading/uploading while off. Anyone else running into this? Thanks

Don't call. The refunds are for the web site and you handle there directly. The call center is for when you are above the limits for refund but still want one, they'll grant you once a year at least.
I guess it's just me and my luck with devices, whether it's headsets, controllers or even systems. People speak of X being quiet and yet I constantly hear mine whenever I don't have my headphones on.
Whether it's Monster Hunter World, Halo 5, PUBG or even Fable Anniversary.... mine is almost like a jet engine. It seriously is nearing PS4 Pro craziness now. I doubt this is reason for the store to give me a new one though.

Obviously, it is your fault LOL. Seriously, the only game so far I hear my One X was with the TW3 in the main menu after played it some time. Other than that: dead silence! And my One X is not even standing in an open space with much room to breath!
Well damn, man I just don't get it. It's not like it's blazing constantly, there are moments where it quiets down for a short while and then it's back to hearing the wind again. Mine has all the space it can need. :(
Just now I thought it was simply Fable's audio, the wind, turns out it was the X. Sigh.
As soon as I quit the game though it's back to quiet Xbox.
How far away you are usually located from your console while playing? Can be a reason too. I sit around 3 meters away while playing. Add the confined space my console sits in to the mix and you may have a reason why I literally can't hear the console most of the time. Even in a dead silence room. I think i would notice it more if I would sit less far away from it and the console would sit on top of my furniture.
I sit about 2.5 tot 3 meters from my X. Maybe it's a good idea to check next time if my brother's console gets this loud as well. It's not a huge deal because most of the time I have my headphones on and as long as it doesn't get too hot it should be fine.
Monster Energy Supercross is the one game I own that makes the fans get noticeably loud, and it only happens at the title screen, which tells me they sloppily coded it to run at an uncapped framerate, which means the console basically maxes out load when it sits there for long. The moment I press the start button it quiets down. I was surprised at just how loud it can get. It was definitely comparable to my PS4 Pro.
But playing any other game it's really quiet. I can hear it from 9-10 feet away in a silent room, but only just slightly.
Yay just got my X finally yesterday! :D I don't have a 4k TV, but Xbox is the main non-Nintendo system that I game on so I'm still hoping it'll bring me the 'best' versions of my games I can currently possibly get.

Welcome to the club! Even without a 4K TV you will gain a much cleaner picture with the enhanced games. On the other hand you will miss all the HDR glory. Recommendation: Save money for a TV upgrade as the next step ;)
How is the X 4k blu ray player? I am mostly in the market for a blu-ray player, but I realize selling my one and getting an X is sensibly similar to a good 4k blu ray player (I was looking at the ubp-x800). My only qualm is that it's not region free. How commonly region-locked are blu-rays / 4k blu-rays ? (I can deal with the dvd zones).
I haven't had any issues with it. I've used it a few times, but primarily use my sammy dedicated player.
It's fine, but no match for a dedicated player. I believe all UHD Discs are region-free (or all regions).
Thanks for letting me know - is the main issue with IQ? Reviews I can find find a bad IQ before a patch that was supposed to come out (and I assume has come out since )
Question for fellow OCD types--disc drive makes a wee bit of noise on start up (when empty/sans disc). I think it's always done this and I think my S and OG did that as well.
I assume it's the drive checking for a disc?
P.S. this is why I mostly prefer digital lol.

I'm not a programmer, but I'd really like to know technically, why the YoutTube app on my PS4 Pro is so much snappier than YouTube on the X1X. Like what the hell is going on with the universal app framework on Xbox? If I'm not mistaken, the X1X CPU is clocked a bit higher right?

Yes, the X has a small CPU advantage. So it's definitely strange that an app like that would run worse on it.
The OS on the X1 is likely more complex (more layers) than what is running on PS4 the other thing is that really much of the UI is dependent to online services which takes time to load. The UI for me on the One X is snappy enough to be not a big issue.

I just got my new X delivered today. I have a question before I set it up.
All my game's are on a external HD. Do I just plug the external hard drive into the X and play? Or do I need to transfer everything onto the old Xbox One internal drive and then transfer to the X? Sorry, I'm kind of new to this.

just plug in the external and start a game. the game starts to re-register itself for the console and your cloud saves will be downloaded again further in the process. that is all you need to do.

I feel like I'm the only one that uses Ebates, but they are offering up to 10% cash back for Ebay currently. Video game purchases qualify for the full 10%, so it should stack with the bundle / coupon deals. Should ultimately drop that X deal to $359.99.
I use a Chrome browser extension to hunt for Ebates deals when I shop online. It pops a clickable notification if the site is offering an Ebates deal. It's legit.. have received about $455 lifetime back from them.

All you need ist just to login with your gamertag(s) on the new console. You will need your password though.
What about my old console? Should I just reset it before selling?
I would recommend that. It is also better for the new owner as he will be guided thru the setup process!
I've been having issues with my one x lately.
On the Xbox one I would play R6siege without issue but on the oneX I frequently see the internet lag symbol even though my ping is constantly around 25 and the Xbox is the only thing connect via LAN.
Now if I try to download/install a game it stays stuck at a certain percentage forcing me to do a hard reset.
Today I played a round of rocket league and as soon as the match was done it crashed sending me to the home. Ive been trying to open the network settings but it doesn't let me :/
Edit - I may have resolved the issue. Just unplugged everything and connected it again, all runs fine again for now.

Having not used an Xbox since the original, what are my options for account creation. Do you really need a Microsoft Account? I'm an Apple user myself, so wouldn't use it for anything except to login my Xbox.

You need a MS account. Just use the same email address like you did with your Apple Id and chose a gamertag you like (and is not taken already).
Not sure why this happens but for some reason it has happened a few times now that I exit MHW, but I don't quit it. I fire up YouTube during dinner and then I want to get back to MHW. Usually the game would still be running, but just now it had quit the game by itself and this happened yesterday too. Why? Used to be fine all this time.
Got my X A bundle from the $400 Newegg 20% off deal last week. Haven't done much with it, got it hooked up and updated and moved the external drive on my S over to it. I did fire up Fallout 3 to check it out and the enhanced version looks really nice. Hopefully they give the same treatment to New Vegas at some point.
