I'm paranoid even with new construction - it's just not worth it. Get a good surge protector and live a happy life lol.

--

My only concern with the X is a potential problem on the technical side. Hopefully no surprises like the red ring of death.

Me too lol

I am scared shitless right now that mine is going to die/brick on me. Mine's plugged into a multi-plug should I plug it into the wall instead? My PS4 Pro is also plugged into the same multi-plug.

I dunno, i had my S in the wall and i had no issues. It apparently has an internal surge protector now in the new consoles.

Anyone in LA waiting for delivery?

Also what the hell is AMZL US does that mean its coming from a courier or what? what kind of delivery service is this?

My Scorpio has been sitting at the carrier facility since 3:30 am with no movement. :(

That is Amazon's delivery service. I have had them deliver a couple packages and have not had any issues.

This is odd. I can't seem to find the option to DL 4K assets. Isn't it supposed to be in the back up and transfer section?

Ok my unit is still broke but I could connect it through Xbox app on Windows. The system seems to perform fine everywhere and loads games. My take is the HDMI output has blown or something.

I'm about to do a full factory reset through the OS because doing it with the buttons did nothing.

This happened to me one the past, buttons don't work. I have a white OG X1. I'm in the preview, so I thought it is always glitches from the OS. Basically when there's an update and when the console disconnects itself from the internet or can't log in, this happens. After repeated attempts for an hour or two, random it works, sign in and if there is an update, finish that up.

Hopefully you sort it out man.

its been unplugged like 20mins. will try again later but i think its broken.

Any luck bud? The thing that is worrying me is I'm getting this shipped all the way from America to India and if it doesn't't worked, it's fucked because the console is not launched in Asia officially. So hopefully it is a rare thing.

Pretty interesting that the Xbox One X is already the best selling Xbox for the year on Amazon and ahead of PS4 Pro for the year on there as well. Not that Amazon is a perfect predictor but it seems the X is having a pretty solid launch

Man I can't handle not having the Scorpio edition so I just ordered one from amazon even though I picked up a regular one at Target this morning.

I imagine the Scorpio will hold resale better and it just looks cooler, plus I will use the vertical stand when I plug into my pc monitor from time to time.

Also once all the scorpios are gone and if they are reselling for $700 or something I'm not opppsed to making a couple hundred bucks.

Solution 1: Reset your internal power supply

The Xbox One S console has an internal power supply that works in all regions worldwide. If your console won't turn on, it may simply need a power reset. Often, power issues are due to the power supply resetting after a power surge.

Note Because the console has a built-in surge protector, you should not connect it to an external surge protector. If you connect the console to another surge protector, the console cannot reach the full power that is needed for optimal performance.

Thanks for linking to the support page so I don't look like some insane person telling people surge protectors are bad for their Xbox haha. I'm on my phone so I didn't bother with trying to link it directly.

nor can i, i saw it in my xbox one OG before I unplugged now I cant find the option lol

Brehs once you are on the X it always downloads the 4k assets and X patches if available. This was solely meant for OG and S to make switching to the X easier.

Is that documented by Microsoft? I assume most would plug into a surge protector without knowing.

That looks to be directly from their official support page. Even when I was working with them for Kinect issues one of the first questions they asked was if I had the Xbox One plugged into a surge protector or directly into the wall.

Yup. Worked for about 2 hours then video signal went. Worked out that the HDMI output has blown. System works since I could screen stream through the Xbox app on Windows.

I remember part of the first Ps4 batch had the same problem.
Bad HDMI port failing.

Lets hope this is not something widespread and in the 0.0X%

From 'quake area to big OH.
Hooking up the fat box upstairs now. Now I can't tell which is quieter. It's in a larger room, different stand, so that may play a part. But it occasionally fluttered, and the X doesn't.

I've always had my Xbox One plugged into a power strip..I don't think I can afford to take up a spot on the wall just for it with the other stuff I have plugged in.

So I ordered an Xbox One X today, should be arriving next week. Question for those who have it, can you just hot swap it out with an Xbox One S, e.g., are the power cords identical for both the S and the X?

Same here, I have a feeling they didn't honor a lot of the "In-store" pickup orders. I'm supposedly getting a $50 Gift Card out of the ordeal but for someone who spends thousands of dollars at Best Buy per year (Elite Plus member) it is quite disappointing especially considering I just bought a 4K TV with HDR from the same store just for the Xbox One X. Hopefully Amazon comes through...
Did you argue with them to get the $50 gift card lol? Cause I might do that.

So I just got mine delivered (GameStop came thru after all, lol) and really, it's tiny. Not as easy to tell in pictures but it's definitely smaller than the S even to the naked eye. Loving the Scorpio edition. Personally I love the slight two tone look and looks really nice in person. Now to finish the hookup....

Yeah the ports are in the exact same spot as the Xbox One S. Microsoft had a few videos talking about the port layout being the same as a nice bonus!

Hey guys this is probably going to sound like a very stupid question but what is the difference between just logging into my X and redownloading everything and doing the system transfer?

On my way home from work now. Can't wait to plug it in and see the difference it makes in person.
