Shame they don't seem to carry these in Canada (or at least, they're hard to find).

Man, I was really hoping for reviews to be up by the time I got on lunch.
Yea it looks like we'll get a flood of user reviews before a solid number of publication reviews haha. Let's hope some of those Saturday delivery windows some people got, are indeed coming this weekend. Preordered the 55 inch at B.B. just in case this thing is the second coming, since I don't want to have to wait since it's selling out like cray.

I feel like I'm playing with fire waiting to see if BB adjusts the 65 inch's price.

Yeah, I don't have the money until next weekend, but in my area, Best Buy is allowing pickups on Saturday, the 28th.

Does anyone know the distance between the legs of the 43" TCL S405? I've got a 32" table I'd like to put it on, but am not sure how wide the spread of the legs is.

update - I asked on amazon and TCL responded very quickly saying it's 30"! So it should fit. :)

Really wondering if it'll be worth upgrading from the X800D. Will probably impulse buy tonight when I get paid, just hope it's a big upgrade.

Scheduled delivery for May 2nd on the 55" through Best Buy. It was showing as "unavailable" at the two stores closest to me (no option for pick-up), so I hope they get it here next week!

I have a P607 but waiting on reviews for the 65" 6 series before I bite on it. I love my 607 but wanted a 65" so hopefully it reviews well.

damn can't wait to hear user reviews compared to a 605/607 if the 6 has evidently increased real life HDR gaming image before I move from my 605 to a new 6 (maybe even 65 even though Im only 5' -6' away from it lol)

The 5 series having a wide color gamut for as low as $350 is pretty amazing. Too bad they couldn't get any local dimming zones in those things.

I'm guessing the new 6 Series doesn't have eARC? Bummer realizing now that I have 7.1 hooked up that I can't passthrough Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, some research lead me to ARC not being able to passthrough this from the internal ROKU to the audio receiver but eARC can.

Thanks for the page. That is interesting, no eARC but it does indicate it can now pass atmos compared to the P605 only indicating Dolby Digital (which is the TV I have and my current experience). This definitely is tempting, I'll wait for impressions and to also see if the roku plex app will be able to direct play h.265 as well. If I can direct play h.265 and passthrough atmos I'm probably going to have to pick up the 65"

It's possible they cherry picked part of the HDMI 2.1 spec to include in the 2018 sets. That's what Samsung has done with VRR. The 2018 QLED's are HDMI 2.0a, but will be updated to support VRR (and Freesync) since they decided to include that particular part of the 2.1 spec.

I'm not saying that's what TCL did with eARC here... just that it's possible. I'd also be interested to know that.

That's only lossy Atmos though and not lossless.

Just ordered the 55 from Amazon, should be here Saturday. Gonna put off playing anything with HDR till then.

$30 for Saturday shipping but you can't put a price on a great weekend.

The 65" is such an amazing value. I really was expecting $1200. Soon as I saw the $999, I had to pull the trigger. It would be nice if Best Buy wasn't being so greedy and charging the same price as the model with the voice control remote, but I got to go where my credit allowance dictates. Lol. Now it's just waiting for May 9th. Ugh. First world problems, I know. Lol. Now it's just a matter of moving this 12 year old Sony lcd rear projection beast to the bedroom.

Amazon has at least the 55" model up for sale already and says it can arrive tomorrow with expedited shipping. Wonder if that's accurate. Can't wait to jump in on the TCL bandwagon

So is it looking like these are worth while upgrades? I'm ready to buy one or last year's model...

It's good enough to not jump in too early. Stay strong for HDMI 2.1 and VRR =)

Ugh. Keep wanting to jump on a B7 OLED but when I hear stuff like this I figure I should keep waiting. But then I hear reports that these won't drop until late 2019 at the absolute earliest.

Then I'm sure once those finally drop, the next big thing will be right around the corner. I should really just take the plunge...

Just curious if there's been any impressions on dramatic improvements over the P605/P607 series.

Hoping to hold onto the P607 for awhile.

I'm currently in this boat. Can you explain what HDMI 2.1 is and why it's worth it to wait? And when do we expect those TVs to come out?
HDMI 2.1 will bring VRR to TV's. Freesync on your TV, basically. Xbox One X will take advantage of it, as will all next gen consoles.

TV's are updated yearly, very similar to cars. The 2018 have just released. The first HDMI 2.1 sets will come with the 2019 models, so roughly one year from today.
