Anyone knows any good base locations with decent plots? 1500k-2k morale budget. My community is getting a little angsty

So finally bought it. Got problems and questions.

The problem is that for some reason in PC, my friend gets random crashes to desktop after 15 or so minutes playing, no error message. Any ideas?

Now game related stuff.

Is there a way i can promote my friend to outpost master so he can also admin the outpost?

And last one, how the fuck do I destroy the plague heart? I hit it but it will only drop gas and ended up killing one of my survivors.

Oh yeah and how do I cure traumas/broken bones? Sleeping doesn't seem to do it and theres nothing in the infirmary for that :c

Plague hearts seems to be vulnerable to bombs and guns. Yeah, don't melee these things.

I don't think the clear jam path was my other option on this guy. I can't quite figure out if it's just random or based on something about the character.
Heh, I'm not sure about that as I never really considered it.

Well for the game related; A coop partner only exists in a "body guard" sort of way, they can neither change your outposts or command your survivors. They do get resources from their backpack and stuff as they deposit, and rewards for playing X amount of time in someone else' game when they return to their game.

Plague hearts got like 3 stages, on audio and visual queue upon damage they spew poison cloud and plague zombies rush to it. Just move away, kill the zombies and repeat or stand at a distance with guns/explosives.

At least for me, the infirmary have a option to heal the selected character and cure it of traumas for something like 2 med supplies. I do have a dedicated doctor tho. You can also find some consumable items IIRC that can cure traumas. I'd save them for emergencies.

Didn't have bombs yet and didnt think shooting in an area with over a dozen plague zombies was a good idea.

Will try hit and run next time.

From what you guys saying looks like I've got to stock up and grow a little before rushing to the main objective.

Also kinda sad my coop partner is not able to manage my community since I intended to play this fully coop.

Was going to wait and try it on Gamepass but broke down and got the UE. Downloading!

Btw, I bought the gamecard at Walmart and the redemption code did not print on the receipt, I had a manager try it again on a second card and the same thing, I ended up just buying Xbox Live money. Weird issue that has never happened to me before.

If you help certain survivors or build a sniper tower and have them use one there you can call in sniper support anywhere on the map for some influence points. They will act as cover fire and kill zombies around you which might make the plague hearts a bit easier.

Thank you. Im realizing that since I didn't play the first I probably should spend a few minutes reading the ingame docs to know that kind of stuff. I know what influence points are but I have 2XX and I don't know how to make more, so yeah, need to do some reading.

Ah, you get influence from killing special zombies, or just killing an amount in general. You can get it from the quests that show up as well, the "help me" ones for instance.

There are a lot of ways to get it, albeit it might take some time to generate high numbers but for that you could help someone in coop to generate while not worrying about your base :)

Whats a good base in the valley to move to? Also 1500 rep seems expensive

I'm at the drive in theater now it looks like a castle. It has a bunch of space but no indoor sleeping areas. Watching movies on the big screen improves moral.

Edit - Actually never mind I'm on a different map I think theater isn't in the valley.

This in addition to survivor with Halo Champion trait, good luck other survivors.
Duke controllers? That should lower morale. edit: Actually looking closer at it it's definitely the smaller, revised one, so you're good.

While I wish the co-op was more fleshed out, it seems like the benefit of it is that you can get loot and that bonus without having any timers or resources tick down in your game. Could be wrong though.

That, definitive.
After experiencing one extrem stressful day in your own savegame, joining someone just to help a bit is like having a vacation.

I had such a crazy day in my game, almost restarted cause everything went wrong, when I'm back on my PC I will tell you my story. Jesus Christ.

Now I have time to tell you what a f'n day I had.

First, I did my very first character quest, where I helped someone who had problems with a different group that stole stuff from them. I tried to solve it without violence and when they gave me the stuff back, I thought everything would be fine, but then they attacked me when I stepped out of the door. I had to kill them but they killed my partner and the guy that needed help. It was on the other side of the map and while I had a car with me, it was hard to drive back, but at least I had a massive amount of items with me. I thought everything would be ok but then it got worse and worse and worse.
Because someone from the team died, they were mourning which gave -25 points. Then they all had stress together and that also gave minus points.
Since I started the game they also had minus points for "no tower" so I destroyed my workshop and built a tower, that doesn't really helped because I instantly ran out of ammo and it gave so many minus points my medic wanted to go. She even wanted to talk with me but I could persuade her to stay under the condition that I have to occupy a specific building she wanted that gave us +1 ammunition per day. that building was, of course, on the other end of the map.

I was at a record low at this point:

Af65BDE.png

I drove to the place with 2 people and when I arrived I saw that this exact building had a plague heart. Fantastic.
I had 3 Molotov with me which was a bit lucky and successfully finished it with close combat. This one wasn't that hard but when I tried to return, I made the mistake that I tried to takeout a horde of plague zombies a few hundreds meter away from my home, I was too slow and 2 of them jumped on my car while I also drove over one of the fat gas zombies at the same time, I had to get out and from every side they encircled us and almost killed another woman from my team, one of the starter girls even, I think. Somehow I managed to save her in the very last second, she already gave up and said "I don't want to die" right before I saved her.

This is her returning at my base:

skHYvZZ.png

Yes, holy shit, it's as close at it can get.

And somehow, even after my camp had the status "Hopeless", I manged to get everything fixed and now they are happy again. For now.

6089IF3.png

But still, I have only 4 people, nobody asked me to stay so far, my currency is always at under 200, yes I occupied some places and buy something new whenever I have the right amount, but it's not like I'm swimming in currency, not even close, it takes a while to even get 300 hundred. I survive, somehow.

I think the next thing I do is help randoms a bit in co-op, there I don't have to care at all what's happening at my place. Like a vacation.

I am playing on Xbox One X, and have noticed everyone's hair is dark blue in-game. Anybody having these issues? It's proper bizarre and gets in the way; perhaps I just have not set up HDR correctly.

how do you aim bombs? Do you have to slot bombs into pockets and aim with right click and hit q?

No
Plague hearts are best flamed out. Normal weapons take forever.
Your infirmary should have the option to(when you are the character) go to it and heal them and it will heal health and a number of injuries each time you do it

Also had my first major bug today.

At 1:20.

Annoying, but the car problems are probably the most easiest to fix in patches.

Trying to play co-op with my brother but man there are a lot of bugs. His base doesn't render any of the stuff he's built, doors look open when they're closed, I can rest as an option even though my character is dead tired. When he picks up a rucksack it doesn't render on his character but when I do he says he can see it. This feels very rough in co-op

Additionally we're playing as the same exact character model

Also regarding the PC version, was anyone able to get the Nvidia GeForce Experience to find the game?

They're on the same menu as your health items. They can be in your backpack. Select the one you want. Hold down left trigger as if you were aiming your gun. Point in the right direction and press rb to chuck. I cleared out an entire infestation earlier with a single fuel bomb. I just wish I could make the bloody things.

Wow, trying to help other random people who uses the flair gun is one of the best and most favorite things that I do at the moment. Anyone, DO IT TOO.
Now I can confirm, you keep all the items in the Inventory + the Rucksack if you have one on your shoulder and you get bonus items the more stuff you do in one session all while you don't have to worry at all about what happens in your home.

It's fantastic, so many "free" resources you can get. You could, theoretically, if you just want something quick, join one, go to his car, take one rucksack out and go back to your world with it. :D Fantastic feature.

I got around the non loading game bug by going on pc with my second account, clearing the tutorial there and reloading the game after on Xbox One with that same account.
I played with my son for about an hour and co-op is pure trash. Actions weren't in sync (There were 3 zombies attacking me on his screen while I had cleared the same room we were standing in). He couldn't get in the same car as me and ultimately I drove away he appeared back at the base on my screen yet on his he was in the car with me. It ended with the Xbox One crashing.

As far as I recall, the Microsoft Store said that it would unlock at 2 pm today for Ultimate Edition. I was surprised that it was working at ~2:00 am.

Played on PC for about 1.5 hours on a GTX 1070, Core i5 4690K on ultra [edit: at 1440p]. Frame rate was very inconsistent and depended a lot on where I was looking: a lot of the time, it was locked 60 fps but looking in certain directions would drop it down to 30 fps with only 50% GPU usage (Vsync was disabled in the options)... so I suspect that this was a bug. Gameplay-wise, it feels a lot like State of Decay 1 but with a nice graphical boost (particularly the lighting and darkness: so dark! And the eyes shining in the darkness!), much improved animations, and seemingly a lot more options and bonuses from various buildings and outposts. Combat feels a bit better than in SoD1 so far possibly due to the smoother animations.

Definitely a bug. I'm having the same issue on a Titan lol

Like I said in the Xbox Inside thread when they talked about the co-op mode, I feel bad about them. They were so proud to have that in the second game but I have the feeling if they wouldn't have done this and if it still would be a 100% single player game, they would be easily in the low if not middle 80s on metacritic now.

It's crazy if you think about it, this little mode that doesn't even have much attention in the game itself, because, it's still just "a mode" while the whole game is still to 95% a pure single player title, killed their review ratings and maybe have a negative impact on the future of that franchise or future patches.
Just because they wanted to implement co-op.

Question: Should I restart my game? I lost 3 of my 6 Survivors to an Act of God.

I lost my survivors in about 20 seconds today through no fault of my own. It was clearly a bug but I am shrugging it off as "fucking nature" I parked my car, removed the contents, and stored them. I parked in the designated parking space on the southern side of the Hillside encampment. While inside my home I heard some strange metallic sounds but shrugged it off. However, after leaving the house I made a discovery. To my right, in my Outdoor Beds where my folks were asleep was my truck spinning in circles upside down murdering my people. When I close my eyes I can still hear their screams.

I've been debating if I should restart since I'm not that far in and I lost my best friend, my sherrif, and my first neighbor to Maximum Overdrive.

Do you mean that by not implementing resources towards co-op it would've left them more time to crush bugs?
From the reviews I've read that's been a bigger factor than the limited co-op. Co-op seems to be a footnote.

I forget, does taking an outpost over with supplies in it get you those supplies daily or no?

Also, are mods reuseable?

Definitely a bug. I'm having the same issue on a Titan lol

I actually solved that issue. It turns out that they're using double buffered vsync (at least, if you turn off vsync in the options: I haven't tested it with vsync turned on) which only allows for multiples of 1/2 of your refresh rate (60, 30, 15, etc), thus, the moment that you can't keep it at 60, it jerks down to 30. You can force vsync off (or at least switch it to triple buffered vsync: I haven't extensively identified whether vsync is still on) using the Nvidia control panel. My game is pretty smooth now!

Edit:
I forget, does taking an outpost over with supplies in it get you those supplies daily or no?

I believe that this time around, you only get resources per day if the outpost explicitly mentions that you get the resource (ie. on the screen where you can claim it), whether or not it has rucksacks of the appropriate resource. I like this change because it means that there's more reliability to getting outposts with resources (eg. you know that a restaurant outpost will give you food even if there are no randomly placed rucksacks there) and you can actually make use of any rucksacks that are there, which is more streamlined rather than having to explain that "those rucksacks that you always want to take? You have to leave those here".

For those playing on the Xbox X. What did you set the in game minimum and maximum brightness for HDR? And how about contrast. I'm on a TCL if that helps.

What'sthe best map to start on if you're completely new to the series. Thnx for any info you might provide.

While the single player has bugs too, of course, specially car stuff, most and biggest and craziest bugs seems to appear while playing co-op and without implementing co-op at all, that wouldn't be nearly as critical and wouldn't got nearly as much critique as it have right now.
It's just a feeling.

That they maybe would have used these resources to make the single player more bug free have I not even meant, but yeah, that also came to my mind.

There's a sub option in that menu to call for supply drop which will be called Ultimate Edition or whatever else the pack you got was called. They're free, the vehicles if any, is not.

Hmm. I don't seem to have a sub menu. I go into find resources and then all the options for supplies, fuel, etc. are all paid influence. Nothing called UE or prepper's.

Nevermind, looks like when it preloaded the game it didn't install the separate file for the pre order bonuses. Gah!

So I made it to the "Foothills". Just claimed my first base/house. My AI companion just left me after claiming though. (She's still a member of the community, just not tagging along with me beating zambies up)

Is it solo play only now (unless I play online coop), or can I get an AI partner back?

Thanks in advance! :)
