I mainly use PPSSPP, Citra, and Dolphin because they work so well on Mac. I do have a PCSX2 wine setup, but man that was a pain in the ass to get running. What I wouldn't give for a good set of Cemu Mac code ...

I haven't seen any threads about this, and I haven't played it in a while, but from my Youtube feeds, I get the impression BoTW nows supports high refresh rates (ie > 60fps). So it's the gift that keeps getting better and better.

Yes, most people even on lower end machines are finding it playable now. At 1080p it runs like butter over 60fps but at 4k I get around 30-50fps with the occasional stutter, but it's so infrequent now that it doesn't detract from the overall experience like before.

I decided to post a downscaled to 4k screen here to be considerate. But the full fat original size can be seen here: https://abload.de/img/kimpossible12x9zk5z.png

And people say that BOTW didn't look as good as the pre-release footage :P

Heh, I couldn't tell the difference to be honest from the Switch version. The official trailer seemed to have a bit more fog in some areas but that's about all I noticed. We can now change the fog parameters with Cemu (first shot):D

Last bunch for this page. Same settings as previous shots. BOTW on Cemu.

That second one would make a good wallpaper if my computer used that aspect ratio (may use it anyway lol)

It's a bit of an odd aspect ratio (4300 x 1800) but for BOTW I use a 21:9 resolution on my 42" monitor so I can take panoramic shots (and if feels way more cinematic too), otherwise I'd use a standard 3840 x 2160 resolution.

Thanks. It's nice to see you're keeping this thread moving along too with a variety of shots from different games..

Edit: A few shots where I played around with the fog settings. You can also control dust, wind particle effects..etc. The plethora of tweaks available in the graphics options alone is simply mind blowing.

How did you achieve the fog effect in the game, while using the hardware accelerated visuals? That was missing for the longest time in this emulator, and was the main contributor to the overal 'wrong' look of the game, and the reason I'd play it in software mode only. Although, I see that the effect still seems to be missing in that other outside shot you posted later.

I think the fog effect has been restored for quite some time now, though i'm not sure if it has been restored everywhere in the game. It's important to use the latest git builds with opengl and set the blending unit accuracy option to high at least. For my screens i changed default fog and dof values, so they don't reflect the actual experience.

That second shot is incredible. So much beauty lost on Wii U and Switch's hardware. Thank goodness for emulation.

What was the emulator/plugin released some years back that was removing the summery graphics or whatever from PS1 games? Just randomly popped into my head and I was curious where it was at these days.

Do you mean PGXP (Parallel/Precision Geometry Transform Pipeline) which corrects the infamous wobbling geometry?
There's already dedicated thread here. Afaik, nothing really changed since the last time i've checked. There're still two ways to achieve it using PCSX-Reloaded emulator (via either Pete's OpenGL v1.78 plugin or Tapeq's Tweak extension to Pete's OpenGL v2.9 plugin) or Bettle PSX HW core via RetroArch.

Dug up some of my old screens from PCSXR-PGXP (xbrz/reshade)

Never thought pc-98 titles could be upscaled so beautifully. Does this core require a lot of custom configuration for such output?

A couple of leftover sh3 shots. I think i'll give it a rest until some proper camhack appears.

This is absolute insanity, how the hell was this game even running on the PS2 without burning down houses. Since I played this game 5 years ago, I still can't get over the fact how amazing this game looks. My eyes are melting. Thank you for the screens and keep this thread alive! I just love the beauty of yesteryear come to life at higher resolutions.

Thank you for your kind words. Uploaded some more, cause why not? Btw, you should definitely check early developement screens from Lost Memories dvd, they show drastically different lightning and angles, much more dramatic and intense, almost chiaroscuro-like. Always wondered why they changed it later. I still haven't figured how to replicate it though, need some heavyweight stuff like enb for this.

It's really amazing how much art is hidden by the low rez. I would by a game today that looked this good. To bad Konami will never make another Silent Hill again, or hell, even a Resident Evil 2 style remake to show how much we have progressed. Thanks again.
