Wow, American Gods probably has the greatest amount of backstage fuckups I've ever seen on a show. They fired Fuller, lost two great actors because of that (Gileon Anderson adn Chris Obi), fired the second showrunner midseason and now fired Orlando Jones, while hiring the "Stay Woke" guy.
I absolutely love the book, but I abandoned the show at the start of season 2. Now I have absolutely no reason to go back, despite really liking the Lakeside chapters.

Pattern seems to be that there's too many people of "color" that's sending a mixed message to the audience.
Showrunner wants to aim the show at the Bible Belt with a title like "American Gods".

With that said, the new showrunner, a 60+ year old white man that "writes from a black male perspective", and the loss of Orlando, (And Gillian from season 1) and now the Jinn... yeah, first time in a while I might actually drop a show I've liked so far.

I liked the first season and even liked the changes they made, but my roomie and I stopped watching season 2 midway through because the show was just bad from the get go of episode 1 for that season. It did not help that two of my favorites (Gillian Anderson and Chris Obi) left and made me not like the show as much anyways.

I dropped off season 1 the second Bryan Fuller left, which seems to be the right thing to do based off the reaction to season 2, but it makes me incredibly sad to see Orlando Jones treated like this. His character was one of the best parts of the original season.
Fuck, I knew about Gillian (who was great, and her replacement paled in comparison), but no wonder I never saw Anubis again. The little we saw of him was fucking great, and left me wanting much more!

What the fuck at all these departures. I liked season 2, though it definitely wasn't as good as the first. Might as well not even watch season 3 at this point.
