For our international readers, its probably worth noting that the US is currently experiencing a golden age of craft brewing, where you can generally find a solid micro brewery within 30 minutes of wherever you are in the continental US and just get something fresh instead of mass produced lagers/pilsners that make up this list.
So while this list is naturally going to skew towards larger brands with a national distribution presence, if you went down to a state and local level you'd probably see a much higher preference for regional players that aren't going to have as much of a presence on the other side of the country – though there are exceptions, like Dogfish Head or Goose Island.
What I mean to say is that despite this list being fairly boring, there has never been a better time or place to be alive if you even remotely like beer.
