Mostly Origins is different enough to other AC games to be it's own thing in the series, but I'd say Black Flag is the "closest" for the focus on environment exploration in a huge open world. Is this AC more for fans of Syndicate's key ideas or more like Brotherhood or??? Help me get some more perspectives on who would enjoy this among the sea of people who got burned out
If you like The Witcher 3, Horizon, and BotW, you'll definitely like AC Origins. Stealth is still the main focus of this game and it seems that AI is vastly improved. Combat is like the combination of The Witcher 3 and Souls. You can lock on targets and dodge with hitboxes, but there's no stamina system here.Should i buy this game? I enjoyed Assassins Creed 2 and Black Flag quite a bit. Bought Wolfenstein 2 at day one but it is a dissapointment for me.
My plans for the next months are purchasing Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Xenoblade 2, but after all these very positive impressions i might consider to give this ain try.
The Witcher 3 is my GOAT and Horizon probably my GOTY with Zelda BOTW i don't know yet. Love this type of games. But i have to know if the combat is good and with wich game it is comparable combat wise and if stealth is rewarding. For the rest i think this game is a no brainer for me..
:(

So what legendaries have people gotten so far? I have a hunters bow that has fire arrows(love lighting enemies on fire lol) and two shields, one with health gain on parry and the other that applies poison when blocking.
Practice. Yes the move you're talking about is a parry. Is there a way to figure out what exactly the differences are between weapons? I had a heavy weapon briefly and the Heavy Attack did some sort of flashing gray feint, then attack. Couldn't figure out what it was meant to be doing. Makes me think it was meant to be like a parry but couldn't work out the timing (and was replaced shortly but a sword).
Check the sound settings, there's an option to increase the voice sounds.Hello, everyone. New guy here. I'm playing on ps4 pro and I have issue with sound quality when it comes to VA, it sounds like really compressed, low bitrate issue. Do you experience any of that? Could be a bug too.

If we talking about perfomance, I suggest you to watch Digital Foundry lookup of the game. Find out on youtube. It runs great, anyway.
Yeah, I've been burned to death 3 times so far and it seemed impossible to stop the fire unless you're close to a water source. So how do you deal with catching fire?
Surely you can put it out but I die every time. It just keeps eating my life until I'm dead.
I just let it burn out. The fire stops after I lost around 1/3 of my health. Don't know why it doesn't stop until you are died.So how do you deal with catching fire?

About the photo mode, it can be better, all the filters are trash. But most importantly, PLEASE LET US CHANGE THE TIME!! Like in Horizon.
Oh wait, I notice the time does not change unless you have the dusk til dawn skill, or only change in a cut scene. Does that mean there is no dynamic day and night cycle in this?

Cool! I haven't read that tip and never spam the dodge button so I never knew that you can actually dodge roll.Tap the dodge button 3 times. The first is a little dash, the second is another dash and the third is a roll. Stop, drop and roll as they say. :)
I think there's a loading hint about it as well.

Great OT.
Just one thing I noticed... In the gameplay section it says 'Imptoved'. I think that's a typo ^^
the setting for this game is the biggest desert on the planet. how prominent do you think can it be lol?The only AC game I've really played through fully and enjoyed (quite a lot) is Black Flag. I felt like sailing with your own ship was so freeing and gave a grand sense of adventure.
So gang, how integral is seafaring in this compared to Black Flag? Is it as prominent of a feature? Is it as satisfying?
Not as far as some in this thread, but there's nothing close to Black Flag's sea traversal in here. You can ride small boats, but I haven't seen anything similar to a sea battle. Most of the game is on the ground (mainly because a big part of Egypt is a desert, you know lol)The only AC game I've really played through fully and enjoyed (quite a lot) is Black Flag. I've got around 3-4 hours with the game on a base PS4 and it runs decently. The cutscenes are pretty choppy, but the gameplay runs fine enough around the 30 FPS target. It dips quite often but it's nothing compared to the slideshow we got with Unity.
In the modern day? The Templars wanted to find the Pieces of Eden which were made by TWCB to control humanity and bring peace and order to the world through control.I'm enjoying this game alot, I'm also trying to remember the lore as well,or at least the basics
What is the relationship between the Assassins and Templars and the TWCB?
The combat is different. I think it's worse, but some people really like it, it's closer to The Witcher 3's combat.Advice if i should buy the game or not, i am like 2 clicks away from buying this after everyone's impressions.
Hated the combat in past AC and did not like the standard open world marathon of go capture the tower of get that collectible. Did this AC fix those things ? I love me some rpg elements and i like the setting.

I Know My Land is for defogging the whole map. There is another achievement called Old Habits, which requires the player to complete all locations, meaning go to every single question marks on the map and complete the objectives there. So, after 4 (!) Hours I finally got the "I know My land - Unlock all the map -" Achievement. It's super rare so far, only 0.4% of people have done it.
If you like the setting, you'll adore the game. Egypt's open world, scale, wildlife, and insane attention to detail is the star of the show. If you enjoyed The Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn, those are good indications of whether you'll enjoy the core gameplay loop of exploration and side quests. Past AC obsessions with collectathons, hunting down the nine billionth chest in each sector of each city are mostly a thing of the past, replaced mostly with side quests that have decent writing and twists with multi-stage design. Writing is somewhere between TW3 and HZD for these. And while there are still treasure chests to collect they are part of stronghold clearances (so FAR fewer of them), which might be too similar to "capture the tower" missions for you, but basically require you to assassinate an army/thug/smuggler leader and loot the main treasure chests in his camp. But those chests contain meaningful loot, and the camps vary well in design and layout and, most importantly, by day/night cycle. So there's a lot more depth to the side content than not only all previous AC games, but more side content depth than most games full stop.Advice if i should buy the game or not, i am like 2 clicks away from buying this after everyone's impressions.

Towers are really secondary in this one, you can complete the game (I think) without climbing one. The focus is on secondary quests this time (again, like The Witcher or Horizon)
There's no collectible junk at least. All the side content seems to have a purpose like EXP and Unique Gear. Combat is absolutely the best part, aside from graphics and Ubisoft's realization of the setting.
Unfortunately towers are still a thing. There's like 58 of them. Given the size of the map though, one should be grateful it's only 58.
