That was amazing. Absolutely loved it, was my favorite MCU film yet. They nailed the pacing and the humorous parts were very well placed.

I never felt like the movie was too bloated, everyone felt relevant.

This isn't just a Marvel vs DC thing anymore.. this is MCU versus everything else. Avengers IW even has James Cameron somewhat shook.

Fiege and crew pulled off one hell of an accomplishment, and it's great to see their hard work and passion pay off. I just think throwing the other guys under the bus is not at all necessary.

And, yeah like Disco said, WW was a huge hit that was bigger than most of the MCUs solo flicks. The potential is clearly there. Let's see what Wan brings to the table.

But yeah, I'll stop now before someone brings BvS into the thread and this thread really goes sideways
Funny thing is people said this same stuff about Marvel at the height of Nolan's Batman. Iron Man came out in 2008, the same year as TDK! I'm not even a huge fan of those movies but they were definitely unprecedented. In 2007, the Raimi franchise had ended on an uneven note and X-Men TLS had shit the bed. A year before that, Fantastic Four 2 gave us this masterpiece

So yeah, Marvel wasn't always on top and won't stay ahead forever. I hope this current run of hits continues for a long time though

WW was a huge hit Financially as well as history making. Quality wise it wasn't better than The First Avenger for me. Now DCEU Has a long ways to go to catch upto Marvel. But if they get a guiding hand like Feige, I'm sure they can catchup.

Ehh, I wouldn't count those movies since they aren't a apart of the MCU. Hell, the MCU weren't even a thing then.

Somewhere.
Likely brought up already, but how was the black order? Kind of doubt I should expect much regarding them.

Welp. Is all I'm gonna say.

Not Hickman good, but good designs and i certainly felt like they were a danger to the heroes.

Utterly forgettable.

Eh, well they still look pretty cool at least. Guess it was for the best not throwing in Supergiant also, even through it would have been nice to see all 5.

Incase anyone is wondering. As a fan of 3d movies, while it isn't mind blowing depth, the 3d works well in the movie. :) Enough that I'll probably get the 3d version of the blu ray over the 4k (although why you can't get sets with both is just super annoying and beyond me).

Reviews seem to be mostly what I thought.

I will say this, I think over time people may sour after the hype dies down. Don't get me wrong, I as a casual MCU fan enjoyed it, but it does get a little messy due to how much is going on.

I actually think the opposite. The movie has zero fat in it and people watching it multiple times will enjoy it even more because they will be able to follow everything more easily.

Best spoiler free review on the internet. Very good points were made.

Lol, that was funny.

See, even spatula loved it.

going to see it on Sunday in Imax 3d, but damn the hype got to me so I bought a ticket for Thursday night in a regular non-fancy theatre, it works out since i can go right after work and the theatre is like 5 minutes from my workplace.

They did it for GotGv2, but that was probably the last time, unfortunately.

I am going to guess on it not having as much replayability mostly because it seems like the story highlights are mainly "major shocks" or "twists" that have maximum impact the first time around and when you know its coming they lose some impact. Same for the jokes that you will laugh at the first time you hear team. But of course I could be wrong, I am not the best at these box office predictions. I already know I am watching it multiple times with different people so whatever happens is fine.

This could also end up being like TDK. Crazy top tier villain that you love to watch, twists that you can't get enough of and edge of your seat entertainment.

These marvel movies are getting tiring. I always leave the theatre feeling somehwhat unimpressed, and all these superhero movies start to melt together in my head. They're fun but forgettable. Spidey 1 and 2 are unmatched in terms of quality. Rami is a god.

How bad is the joke per minute? Is it movie ruining like Thor Ragnorak or GOTG2 where there's big moments put on pause or serious scenes drag to insert a joke? I bring Thor's ending and like half of guardians as my example.

I think that was only for the US though. I considered importing but it was just way too expensive. Also I literally just quoted you in another thread. What a coincidence !

Here In europe, there are a few movies in 3d 4k packages, but it's almost exclusively in france. So I'll often import from their amazon. They have english language as default anyways. And non of them are disney. It's a few sony movies, and a few warner brothers movies (or so it seems).

Ragnarok is a terrible example as the movie is a comedy, pure and simple.

But most of the jokes are in the first third or so.

Spider Man and the GotG have a few quips as excepted but that's about it.

But I thought Ragnarok was possibly the best film in the MCU so maybe they just didn't faze me enough to notice.

I disagree. I went into the movie knowing the whole plot and all the major beats beforehand (I don't care about spoilers) and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's still surprising to me that Civil War isn't higher on people lists. After a repeat viewing, it jumped into my top 5 MCU. It just comes together so damn well. It does feel a bit like watching a movie in fast forward though. Sooooo much happens.

Yeah. I'd honestly swap CW and the first Avengers movie in the list above. I haven't seen IW yet, but CW is by far my favorite Avengers movie.

Civil War
Winter Soldier
Black Panther
CA: First Avenger (first movie I watched in the MCU, and I was hooked, and honestly gets better every time rewatch it, and it got me into comics).
Avengers (these 2 will always be here because of sentiments)

Civil War would be in my top five as well along with the first Guardians, Avengers, The Winter Soldier and Black Panther.

It's the MCU film I've watched the most over the past few years by far.
