She wasn't officially based on her but they clearly modeled the character after he and ended up changing it before release.
Liked her a lot in GoT, but I agree about HDM, didn't care for her at all
Certainly looks the part. Her brief time in GoT was pretty good. Hopefully she's up for such a big role.
It's already difficult to find experienced teenage actors. If they wanted one who looked exactly like the game character they'd never make the show.
She was decent in GoT, but I don't see it at all. Then again I didn't see Cavill as Geralt either, until the costume and makeup etc was done.
Dafne Keen could've been a good choice, but obviously she's busy and I have no idea how her American accent is.
ffs the actor/actress does not needs to be 1:1 in likeness with the character, she is a young white girl, boom here is your Ellie.

I mean... she has to. There would literally be no situation where Ellie could be born in the US following the outbreak and have an English accent lol
This x1000. People need to stop acting like actors of a video game adoptions should just be whatever actor looks the most like the character in-game.
I mean, how old was Ellie when the outbreak happened? Either she is American or lived basically her entire life in America. This is assuming they didn't switch the setting to Britain, of course.
