What's different between this version and the Nintendo 64?
The single player content is primarily the same but with additional censorship, improved controls and significantly enhanced visuals. The multiplayer is largely different form the N64 game with a smaller selection of modes and a lack of the more unique gametypes in that version.

Is it worth playing the 64 game in Rare Replay or this version for a first time player?
While Conker in Rare Replay is running at a higher resolution than the original 64 release I, personally, find the better controls/performance in Live and Reloaded to be worth the trade off of worse censoring. Comes down to personal preference really.

Isn't there any option to play the game uncensored?
From what I understand the only option to disable censoring was for the multiplayer modes.

Does the game have LAN multiplayer options?
Yes. For 2-16 players and is compatible for matches between OG Xbox, 360 and XB1 consoles.

Does the game have bots for multiplayer?
Yes.

Does this digital release work on 360?
Yes. The digital and physical release of Live and Reloaded will run on all the consoles listed in the OP aside from the digital copy working on an OG Xbox.

Does it have achievements?
No. Like all Original Xbox BC titles there are no achievements in the game.

I really, really, really wanted to love Conker: Live & Reloaded. I've been dying for this game for more than a year, both for the single-player and the multiplayer. Ultimately, I still think the single-player is a unique and awesome experience. Perhaps it's a little outdated and the cutting of certain aspects bums me out, but overall it's still great. The multiplayer is a very solid concept with some good and some bland maps (but too few all around). It's created with a lot of thought, but the balancing issues and, frankly, the lack of fun hurt it a lot. The single-player is a 9+ experience and the multiplayer is more like a 7. So, Conker: Live & Reloaded falls somewhere in the middle overall.

Gamespot: 8.3/10
Did Conker's Bad Fur Day really need a remake? Probably not. It was a fantastic game for its time, but it probably could have gone on existing purely as an N64 title, or it could've gotten a proper sequel and done just fine for itself. However, a remake was made, and for what it is, it's absolutely worth playing. Those who never tried Bad Fur Day aren't likely to ever pick up the N64 version, so this remake serves as a great way to bring a new generation of players into the bawdy world of Conker. And as for those who already played Bad Fur Day and aren't necessarily sold on the notion of playing through a prettier version of a 10-hour game they've already completed, the multiplayer component, despite a few gaffes, is certainly worth checking out. In the end, Conker: Live & Reloaded definitely has some quirks and even a few legitimate problems, but the whole of the experience is a great one. Xbox owners would do well to give it a go.

TBH, I find the censorship much funnier in here.

Especially when the Count says "Oh shit" and it's bleeped entirely.

I remember back in 2008 that lots of fans used some bullshots of this game to sell it as a next gen game, but in the pics of the OT the game doesn't look that good. That being said, I'm curious to play this version

While I have some aesthetic gripes with Live and Reloaded, I'm extremely pleased that a new audience will be able to appreciate the brilliance that is Conker without the frustrating mechanical aspects of the N64 version. The game's visuals, animation, lighting -- all that stuff is absolutely ace, and I think people will be blown away playing it at 4K. And the voice acting is mostly as good as the N64 original, if not better. (It was completely redubbed from scratch.)

I thought I would see it or at least pre download option . I bought it along with panzer dragon orta but em ..... Due to this stupidity of either ( not available in your region ) or ( can't buy xbox backward compatible games with gift card ) i am lil nervous .

Hope it shows up tomorrow at the store

It's strange . It's not available at the xbox store on xbox one on the second account I created ( even though I purchased it from the web )
But in the main US account its there but I can't buy it )

I swear to god that game back in '04 looked years ahead of everything else. I honestly couldn't believe the amount of detail there was in everything, and especially in Conker's fur. It looked like a next-gen game running in 480 instead of in HD.

Is it possible to patch in a 16:9 aspect ratio? Or would it be too much of a hassle to do?

If I own the original XBOX game, is just a matter of inserting the disc and play?

I wonder if MS are using Backwards compatibility to gauge interest in older IP they could reignite in the future?

I played this game a looong time ago. Last thing I can remember is pissing on some imps. Also this game is unforgivably hard.

Gonna be a good time.

Okay, so pet peeve. In the original N64 version, the opening shot is this:
conker_bfd-011z0u00.png

conker_bfd-013dguxn.png

Which is an overt reference to:

Complete with the tight zoom on Conker's face. One especially nice touch is how the milk in Conker's glass moves around as he drinks.
But the Xbox remake replaces the glass of milk with the goblet he drinks out of at Dracula's castle, and the opening shot is much wider. It's still a homage to Clockwork Orange mixed with Conan the Destroyer, but the overt similarity is gone, not least because he's no longer visibly drinking milk. He doesn't move at all. Literally none of the brooding emotion of the original is conveyed. He looks like a stuffed toy sitting on a throne. The entire plot revolves around milk. It's weird that such a major prop was switched.

I don't understand how/why they messed up that shot so badly. Similarly, they screwed up the shot where Conker begins to realise that he's part of a beach invasion. The door wheel thing spins round and round and Conker slowly turns his head sideways looking at it, increasingly concerned. In the Xbox version, the effect is ruined because they placed a squirrel standing in front of him. There's a level of polish to the cinematography in the N64 version that is missing from the Xbox version. Not that I'm knocking the Xbox version in general. It's fantastic for the most part. Also, in some shots of the Exorcist parody, the little girl has the wrong facial expression. There's a lot of little animation errors and incorrectly framed shots littered through the remake, Maybe it was a little bit rushed or something?

Which version did you play? The Xbox remake is dramatically easier. (Fun fact, the N64 original has hidden Easy Mode cheats. EASY and VERYEASY. Most people don't know about them.)

Microsoft is in such a dire need of exclusive singleplayer experiences compared to what Sony is offering, a new Conker would be perfect :(

It was on my buddy's N64. Actually now that I think back on it, I think it was mostly down to the controller, most of the time I found myself wrestling with the controller trying to aim in the game, and the framerate sucked too. I have high expectations for this one.

Loved the fur-shading effect on this remake, bet it looks great upscaled on XB1

Can't decide if I'd want to play the N64 or Xbox version if I replay this again later. Already beaten and enjoyed both versions

Only bought panzer dragoon orta for now. But I can be easily persuaded by 4k fur-tech.

My bar for platformers are pretty low (as long as it's not too hard), even enjoyed project spark conker.

Have always had a morbid curiosity on how L&R changes one of my favorite games of all-time. Getting my hands on an OG XBOX copy has always been difficult for me, but $10 to see what it's like on my One sounds like it's finally time to see what the damage is like.

It'll be interesting to see if the control issues I had in this game were caused by my Xbox controller or if it's just the game. It's the only game I ever played on Xbox so I had no frame of reference, but I know my XB1 controller is solid.

I dropped $20 on a copy from Gamestop.com 4 months ago, it was disc only too. If only I knew.

Still waiting on that Conker sequel that will never happen........*taps foot patiently*........

Also, Synth, stay outta this thread!

The game looks way better in motion, trust me. It still looks great to this day, at least imo.

Actually the N64 had more swearing then Xbox version. I always found it annoying how Nintendo was the so called "kiddie" company, yet their version of Conker's Bad Fur Day was not nearly as censored as the Xbox version ended up being. Made no damn sense.

Originally, the Xbox remake was going to be called Conker Live and Uncut, meaning they thought it was going to remove all the censoring, but then...for some reason, they renamed it to Live and Reloaded, and added MORE censorship, even on words that the N64 did not have bleeped out.

It's M rated, and is originally from the N64. The N64 version is much less censored than the Xbox version. The N64 version is also in Rare Replay.

Both versions have their own separate multiplayer, so there is a 'point' to owning both of them. Conker N64 (Rare Replay) has a bunch of split screen oriented modes, while the Xbox version is kind of Conker Battlefield?

I can't remember, but could you play this game's multiplayer against bots? Since the online isn't active anymore, it might be nice to still boot up the multiplayer mode and see how it holds up.

I swear I have heard of people who also had an issue with controls in this game. Same thing with Conker's Bad Fur Day as well.

Well, at least you didn't spend 30 like I did lol. I really regret it now. The worst thing is that it's from eBay so I can't return it.

The online multiplayer was some of the most fun I've had for an online shooter.
