so if pete and klob didnt run these voters would have voted for sanders instead of biden?

I was just refuting the idea of Biden's lack of money mattered at all. Those candidates spent money to campaign for the same centrist rethoric as Biden and ended endorsing him early enough in the race. Biden didn't really to spend money because there were like 4 other candidates doing so that ended converging into his campaign.

Warren solidified herself as the biggest joke of this primary season, but I guess we really shouldn't be surprised coming from someone who lied about their race, used to be a republican, voted to increase Trump's military budget, etc etc

She really sold her "soul" as a progressive, running away from M4A among other things, and for what? She was tied with new delegates with TULSI for most of the night. (1)

Biden didn't spend money cause he was broke, had no fundraising and his campaign was considered dead.

Your premise is nonsencial. If Bernie can't beat a poorly run Biden+endorsements while Bloomberg is still siphoning off centrists votes then his campaign is bad.

Looks like it will soon be time for Bernie supporters to fall in line, as they so gleefully liked to tell supporters of other campaigns. Too bad the tidal wave of youth support was actually a squirt.

I don't think you're right at all. But I hope you are.

"It'd be great if we could roll back a woman's right to her own body", "wouldn't it be swell if we could prevent non-white and/or poor people from immigrating here?", "it would be awesome if corporations got massive tax cuts and social safety nets got gutted simultaneously!"...

This is all trash that conservatives got hard over, but they seemed like pipe dreams... until they actually decided to come out and vote for people to implement it.

So I don't understand your comment about it being " Easier to believe in the thing that sounds good rather than acknowledge reality."... If there's a policy or structural change you think would benefit the community as a whole, vote for it! Support candidates that will implement it. The Right understands this but the moderate Left is busy wringing its hands over who the better foil to lose against Trump will be.

Bernie won't and shouldn't concede and Biden will not pick a progressive. He'll pick a establishment Moderate, maybe even someone of color, but someone still towing that centrist ideology.
I'm talking about the "wave of young people and nonvoters" electoral theory that's been tested and failed 4 times in the past 5 years.

It's pretty frustrating to watch people act like she didn't split the vote and they keep repeating the "Bernie has to earn her supporters" bullshit. Maybe we should take that same logic to the general and see what happens.

I'm not doing it this time. I bent the knee in 2016 and the hubris of that campaign cost them the rust belt and the election. Liberals will scream about Russia and email scandal but the fact that she didn't bother to campaign in Michigan until the very end was very telling she expected a coronation.

Biden will continue to keep kids in cages and let people ration their insulin, because that's what he really stands for. Only this time it'll be ok because he won't be completely mask off so old people can feel good about themselves that they got rid of the loud man on Twitter.

still like, this would imply that candidates like buttigieg werent actually in it to win, only to espouse and further moderate ideologies.

Let's keep posting about what movies Pelosi watches though, thats integral to the Primaries!

The amount of moderates on this site is astounding. They'll go for the worst possible choice just because it's still marked as 'liberal'. Nah. It ain't liberal. They take the easy road out.

I wonder if she keeps a bottle of hot sauce in her purse too.

Wait for old people to die and all the racism and capitalism and corruption will be gone.

Oh shit there's still old people.

Where do all the old people keep coming from.

Yeah because the generation brought up on All In The Family, shamed people dying of AIDS for being drug addicts or gay, and completely bought Hillary's explanation that black men are super predators is totally the same as our generation that's not perfect but actively promotes intersectionality.

You are also forgetting that he is not exactly a nobody, he was Obama's VP. He put the effort in the right place and then everything fell into place naturally.

The amount of "moderates" on this site is only astounding if you paid no attention to the actual vote tonight and are still under the delusion that the left makes up a sizeable portion of the American electorate.

Warren and Sanders' focus now should be to gain as many delegates as possible to extract to maximum amount of concessions they can from Biden for the progressive cause at the convention.

So Bernie can't beat a dead campaign with zero funds that is losing votes to Bloomberg but is the only candidate that can beat Trump. Makes sense.

Yep. My view has long been that Sanders would lose more heavily than any Democrat since Michael Dukakis, because relying on the Youthicorn and socialism is not a winning formula against a squalid but economically blessed incumbent President whose biggest vulnerability comes from people wanting a return to normalcy, and last night's results confirmed it.

I still wonder how he'd have fared in an oddball vs oddball general election matchup in 2016, but that ship sailed and he's been proven vulnerable without the anti-Clinton vote to prop him up.

On the bright side of things, we're going to get to see 2 old men with dementia struggle to form coherent sentences as they attempt to debate each other on live TV this year and we won't even have to pay a cent. That's quality entertainment.

What fucking effort? He got his boy Clyburn to bump for him then within 48 hours Pete and Klobs knew they were fucked but want another crack at it in 4-8 years so they sold out to who would guarantee that. Beto's the one I'm super disappointed in. I cannot believe he bent the knee after blasting Biden for months on how he's moving the party backwards.

Biden didn't have shit for a ground game and was a complete moron at almost every debate. His campaign was completely dead until he got the exact endorsements at the exact right time and now he's sailing with huge leads because his endorsers reminded people that he was cool with Obama.

Disappointing but maybe not really surprising.... And I'll put it out there one of the biggest mistakes Sanders made... again, was campaigning against the Democratic Party while trying to win votes to be the leader of the Democratic Party.

It's interesting how so many went after Clinton for calling 50% of Trump voters deplorable, but think we're fighting the Democratic Party Establishment! is a great course of action.

Organisations like the DSA and other socialist groups need to start working with older southern blacks and suburban whites outside of election season. Much easier said then done, but we need to show our worth before asking for their endorsements. Prove in practice that socialists aren't the crazed lunatics the mainstream media says.

She did that during 2016?
