Once covid is over(ish) there is no doubt there will be one E3 where they try to bring that energy back only to realize they actually hated it all along. When you follow sites like GB and EA and watch all their people head out to the venue and set up there it's a different feeling, sad that it's going to be lost forever
I miss the Gerstmann drive
Thank you, krillin.Lol I mean it still happens. Sony has their single game focused directs where devs present the work. But hey, I think the gamescom event and SGF will have an audience so there's something just for you 😉
Seems that way, he and the VGAs still need some work but they've made a ton of headway in a very short time.
It's weird to me how the perception of E3 has become that it had no value or are glad it is gone. I've had so many awesome memories and experiences from e3. I find videos that are just strings of trailers less value personally.
At least if we're talking how the expo has been since 2017. I'd welcome a return to a trade format (anno 2006) should the expo resurface next year.
I'm sure we'll see a return to on-site events once the situation allows. Stuff like Gamescom or PlayStation Experience can be really valuable to manufacturers and developers.
resetera is a follower, not a leader
I never understood why this place hates E3 so much. I don't care about the actually event. But all the press conferences from the major publishers happening within that 5 day period of each other was always one of my favorite times of the year. The summer of gaming or whatever, didn't come anywhere close to that.
Oh man. End of an Era. Kinda sad.
If Geoff wants to replace it he's going to have to step up his game. He might be able to do it though.
He didnt even have to replace it, and I never understood why some didnt/dont like his show.Oh man. End of an Era. Kinda sad.

Hell yeah!
Gonna be weird not saying stuff like "maybe it'll be at E3" . Guess it's SGF now.
Hopefully all the platform holders/publishers have their showcases around the same time. I miss having that week of solid news and trailers like E3 had.
I can't even remember a thing about E3 last year. How do you pull off an E3 in 2021 but can't make one (either digital or in-person) happen in 2022?
