Looking at the comments, people are all over the map. Someone said (paraphrase) "they're stealing money from people because it hasn't been 8 years yet" and people are upvoting that.
so basically people are being dumb again....i should have known.
But yeah, an absolute minimum 8tflop GPU with 16-24 GDDR6 RAM and an 8 core Zen CPU at 7nm is pretty obvious...i think they will try and delay as long as possible to lower costs as much as possible, which is why i think 2020 is most likely. But at the same time i think Sony will intentionally go lower on the GPU scale(around 10tflop) because they likey will be planning another Pro iteration at the halfway point with more GPU power to take advantage of even higher resolutions and visual refinements.
Even 10 tflops in a closed box will do things people have never seen before, especially considering pro and X are largely just running Xbox one and PS4 base games
I am really not convinced that Sony would be able to offer a Ryzen CPU, 24GB of GDDR5 / 5X / 6 / HBM2, a 12 TF GPU and an SSD for £350 - which is £70 less than Xbox One X retailed for - just 2 years after the X.
That is how technology works. As it leapfrogs other technologies, things get better. Jaguar is old news at this point, so is the 8GB ram capacity, and even the GPU power can be upgraded. Nobody is talking about SSD heh
