There are people here who think MCU are one of the main assets disney cares about. Which is nonsense. Not even a top 5 assert in this deal.
I haven't seen one person claim this lol

Prior to it passing regulatory approval, what Comcast was doing was essentially trying to take Fox out of Disney's cart in the checkout line.
Post approval it is much closer to essentially trying to take Fox out of Disney's bags as they are at the register handing their money over.
Predator: "Ripley DOES exist! Her heart's inside my heart."Cut to a trailer with a Alien with yellow eyes. "Predator, you're too late"
Hopefully. This take is gonna look dumb as hell in record time.
MCU is gonna be beautifully diverse in a few years.
Nah, but what you said made me think something interesting:
After the approval and assuming that Deadpool is made canon within the MCU, Negasonic becomes the first openly LBGT character in the MCU films. I approve that.
I don't think any character but Deadpool is guaranteed to make the jump.
That's not to say we wouldn't get Negasonic and Domino eventually (and I hope they just re-up on both actresses, they're great), I just ain't confident they wouldn't recast.
The fear for Disney is not wanting audiences to think anything in Fox's verse is canonical, which I get. I'd hope a quick joke would suffice to set the tone, with Wade rambling about Negasonic and Domino surviving the merger, and the two of them asking him what the fuck he's talking about lol
Divestment of RSNs is kind of a big deal. I'm sure the only reason Disney is not fighting it is because of the pressure from Comcast.
It would make fun for them to buy FloSports to make up the loss of the RSNs and complement ESPN+. It would be a lot smaller, but a lot cheaper with tons of niche content.
It went from unlikely for Comcast to counter-bid, to really unlikely.Am I missing something? Everyone seems to think the fight is over but the article still says Comcast is still intending to make new moves toward this. Very much sounds like it's not 100% official that Disney will get the Fox assets. Am I missing something here?
They better have rum ham.Alright bring on the It's Always Sunny Theme Park at Disneyworld!!!!!

Hardly anyone is cheering for anything stop trying to push this stupid narrativeSeeing people cheering mega corps getting even bigger just because it works out well for their super hero movies is so incredibly sad.
The Fantastic Four are special to me. The first comic book I ever read as a kid was a F4 one, I have an emotional attachment to them and I've been dreaming of a good F4 movie for decades. If the deal goes through, the moment that the first F4 teaser pops up on screen in an MCU movie I might actually shed a tear. I know this makes me sound like a huge dork but I don't care.
A giant one that everyone sits on and eats.
Indeed, and if they wanted RSNs, they are in the best position to make new ones. It's not a big deal because they were never after the sports networks.
I get it.
I cried when it was announced Spidey was joining, and then again when the Civil War trailer dropped.

I would place money that the post credit stinger for IW part 2 being someone noticing all of the activity near Earth and stating "I Hunger."The Fantastic Four are special to me. Assuming no other outside bids I would expect this to close by the end of the year. I also expect Disney to already be shopping the RSNs to interested parties right now. I think the FAANGs may want one of more of those, especially YES.
6-12 monthsSo now that the DOJ has approved of the merger...when will that actually take place?
Do Disney and Fox still have to wait until 2019, or can this be completely finalized by the end of the year?

It's 100% done after shareholders approval, we don't have a date for that yet, but I expect soon. It's incredibly unlikely for Comcast to change this tide by now.
