I'm so torn...I wanna get this game, but I can't seem to bring myself to pay full price. I've already sold my Wii U, so I can't play it on there right now, but I'd love to play this again.
Heh, I'm doing the exact same thing. I'm about half a world ahead of you.
It's new, but you can hear some of it on the main menu screens when you're going through the configuration for a Funky Mode game.Does the track from the Switch specific credits of Tropical Freeze appear anywhere else or is it a new composition?

Platform Problems.
Guys, PLATFORM PROBLEMS!
Pack it up other developers, platforming doesn't get any better than this. They should have named the stage Platform Perfection.
Anyone who says the controls are unresponsive after playing this level is wrong. DEAD wrong! Once you get into the groove of it all it's so good. SO. GOOD!
Pretty sure it was the most up to date version, 1.01 if I remember correctly. Can anybody with the cart version tell me what Switch firmware update version number comes on the cart?
Yeah, this stage proves Retro are the masters of the 2D platformer. No one else is in the same league.
I know opinions and all that .... But how did someone play this and score it a 5? I mean what the heck.
But game feels best when you're rampaging through levels like a crazy, bouncy simian wrecking ball. The game demands precision and that you're aware of your surroundings pretty much at all times. You need to take it slow.

I've been playing this slowly and really enjoying it. Normally with games like this or Rayman Legends I grind levels until I 100% them, but I've just been picking up my Switch and beating a level or two here or there without worrying about finding all the secrets. It's such a great game so far. I'm kind of worried about the difficulty when I play it with my girlfriend because I've even had a tough time on some stuff like the World 2 boss, but maybe we'll do a new save in Funky mode.
Thanks. lol. I have a love-and-hate relationship with this game right now.
I think it's 3DS in Original mode and Switch for Funky mode. Not sure if this has been mentioned but I thought DK's animation was supposed to be with a Switch and not a 3ds.
Besides the boss fights being god awful, probably my only other complaint would be that the grab button mechanic is terrible.Starting World 3. Getting the hang of this, but seriously the bosses are kind of annoying - all about memorizing patterns old-school style. And seriously the times that I have missed a vine because I forgot to hold down the grab button ... I haven't been white-knuckled playing a game in a while, and get stoked when I hit a checkpoint
Holy shit that first Boss Theme. I was not prepared for this epicness
I love the theme on the 5th boss... probably my favourite boss fight of them all.
The HD rumble is pretty good on this game but the Pro controller is just so much more comfortable.
The final stretch of this level (starting at 1:15) is the most intense section of the game.
I like this game. I really want to love it, but I feel like there are way too many incidents of stuff like this happening:
Could have sworn I was holding climb. The controls just feel like they're one tweak away from perfection to me.
What controller layout is everybody using, by the way? Is one considered better than the others?
