New Vegas charting that high in a revenue chart while costing 2.49 is impressive

Thank you for explanation.
Achievements aren't that important for me, but hope I won't get many crashes! :D

EDIT:
you can try these mods but if you do, disable FPS boost and possibly HDR depending on the mod

without the mod, FPS boost on, Series X

Wow, didn't expect to see mods like these on consoles! Thank you for this.

Can't wait for all the LTTP threads!
I'm really considering giving Fallout (probably 4, maybe New Vegas) another shot because of how great the show is. Only Fallout I ever played was 4, but it lost me after a couple hours.

I'm hesitating a bit because of how they have aged graphically, but I imagine there are mods on PC to bring it more up to date.

According to listings on the PlayStation 5 console, the Fallout games are among the most popular titles on PlayStation Plus in the United States. Fallout 4 headlines the top 10 list with the #1 spot, and Fallout 76 is close behind at #3.

I hope this is the fuel that the development behind 76 needs to keep the steady amount of content flowing.

Seems like they've been fairly consistent so far but it's nice seeing such a resurgence.

I've never played a Bethesda game other than Starfield, which I quit 15~ hours in. Is this a lot like that game w/ the same type of formula/gameplay?

Here's why I quit Starfield:
  • Story seemed boring/lackluster
  • Space travel (travel in general really) was annoying due to multiple loading screens at every corner
  • Inventory/weight was a slog to keep track of
Due these issues persist in the Fallout series as well?
Fallout is more interesting, even the divisive FO4 has a better opening. Same goes for exploring the world, the UI and sorely missed Pip Boy. Starfield obviously has better shooting but the Fallouts have VATS and infinitely more mods and no ridiculous amount of loading screens. I'm currently playing New Vegas (mostly vanilla) and despite its age, it's still a fun RPG.

You can count me as one of these people. I haven't touched a fallout game since 4 released, and at the time I found it a little disappointing. No real reason why - I think I just found the Bethesda formula a little tired for me personally at the time.

Now I'm 8 hours deep into Fallout 3 on the steam deck, completely loving it, and I finally decided to learn how to get through the opening difficulty spike of Fallout 1 after watching some YouTube videos.

Of the two, Fallout 1 has seriously gripped me in a deeper way. It feels a little small in comparison to modern games, but I love how it approaches storytelling and only gives you minimal suggestions on what you need to do, trusting that you can think through things, since it doesn't have a traditional journal to keep track of quest steps. I'm over here taking notes on my iPad whenever people say something is going down, and I also love that it doesn't feel completely off the wall like older adventure games - most solutions are fairly logical…aside from where you find that first rope (I bartered with the guard at the front gate of Shady Sands).

Excited to get back into it and bust a shady casino operation later tonight.

Only thing I hate…holy shit some items are so hard to see on the ground. I wish it had a Diablo-esque "highlight items" button. I see it's available in mods, but I'm 4 hours deep on a vanilla save and I hear the saves can be kinda finicky with corruption, so maybe if I move on to fallout 2 eventually I'll mod that one before playing.

Damn, it's passed a new all time high CCU today on Steam. 51,368 now. Could have sworn yesterday it was only like 45,000 or so

With all the amazon prime free offers and gamepass you know 76 is actually way higher. Crazy.

It may justify investing in a whole new mode with more players at once etc... It's not like they have ANY new game on the horizon so fleshing out 76 is their next best thing.

Do I play Fallout 4 or Fallout 76? I will not be playing with other people. I want to explore a world, collect loot, and kill stuff.

I just picked up Fallout 4 GOTY for $8.50 on GMG. Going to wait to play it until after the patch before I mod the crap out of it.

Started putting together a "comprehensive" modded install of New Vegas last night, since I haven't played the game in like a decade. Went to finish it this morning and Nexus is getting absolutely destroyed:

"Investigating - We are experiencing much more traffic than usual due to the popularity of the Fallout TV series."

Absolutely wild.

IGN released a video yesterday showcasing the Begin Again FO:NV modlist on wabbajack. That vid has 250k+ views and judging from all the new people in the discord, fair bet this is contributing to the Nexus slowdown (on top of all the other Fallout lists being downloaded).

Begin Again is really solid, I installed it a few months ago and love basically everything about it.
