Brazil only have themselves to blame
Brazil only have themselves to blame
FIFA objective for this world cup is met. An European champion. Good job referees.
I don't think he's feeling too good.
It is dope tbhWell, the and only brightside of that happening would be hearing that bitching cold war like anthem of theirs.
This match is basically a repeat of the Euro finals. The (significantly) superior team lost because they couldn't put away their chances.
Not enough to be the best team only for the last 30 minutes.
We played terrible. We just had some attacks in the end because Belgium decided to defend.
If losing in quarters to Belgium is considered good now, we have really fallen to a point of no return.
This match is basically a repeat of the Euro finals. The (significantly) superior team lost because they couldn't put away their chances.
I think you are overthinking this. The Bosman Ruling made it so that Latin America loses its best players really early, so Latin American teams are forced to call players from abroad instead of the local leagues. This affects in terms of travel time when players have to meet for national team duty.Posted this 3 weeks ago, and it's more true now than ever before.
-----
In 1994, 11 Brazil players played in Brazil (1st place)
In 1998, 9 Brazil players played in Brazil (2nd place)
In 2002, 13 Brazil players played in Brazil (1st place)
In 2006, just 3 Brazil players played in Brazil (out in quarters)
In 2010, just 3 Brazil players played in Brazil (out in quarters)
In 2014, just 4 Brazil players played in Brazil, including 2 backup goalies (7-1 incident)
In 2018, just 3 Brazil players played in Brazil (out in quarters - goal against Belgium scored by player based in China)
Why does this matter?
Every player wants to play in Europe. That's where the money is. No questions asked.
The World Cup is about representing your country and the love of the game. Sure. But it's also the most important job interview of a person's life.
If you're playing in Brazil, this is your chance to be seen by every team in the world. It's your ticket to financial security for you and everyone you know for the rest of your life. Everything is on the line. If you can play at level 10, for the World Cup, you're going to 12.
If you're already playing in Barcelona or Real Madrid, and you fuck up...it doesn't matter. You're already at the top. What matters is your performance at the club level.
Look at how the Argentina players all acted on the 3rd goal when they stopped and let Croatia walk it in. They could not give less of a shit. Why? Every one of those players already has a cushy job in Europe. There was no reason to go the next mile and prove themselves.
Now, this only works for Brazil, Argentina and Mexico because their domestic leagues are of high quality, which means the players are getting a high level of practice week in and week out. The leagues are competitive enough that if you don't make it at Corinthias or America, you can find yourself in the 2nd or 3rd division. Obviously, Saudi Arabia isnt helped by the fact that all their players play at home
You can't have a team with one diva and 22 scrubs. You need to be solid all the way through.
Not from me. You antagonize everyone in this thread. I'm just here.
Go party outside or something.
Now that's a proper Brazilian football team.
This match is basically a repeat of the Euro finals. The (significantly) superior team lost because they couldn't put away their chances.
Hardly
FTFY. lolEveryone please take a moment and remember our lord and savior.
Unfortunately Brazil doesn't have a good forward or striker aka goal getter, otherwise this would have been 5:1 (2)Brazil had this on their foot. You need to convert some of these chance.
Super proud of our performance today, finally we showed up in a big game this World Cup.
Glad Belgium won, and it was satisfying to see the ref tell Neymar to get his ass up so many times.
What
I received 10 mentions when we were trailing Japan 2-0. Don't be a bad sport and take the banter in stride.
