Its skills were always worth taking (minus breath). Th eikon ability itself was looked over because Shiva was better defensively and Odin was better offensively. From patch notes it sounds like it's now a comparable middle ground which will have a place in loadouts.
Giga isn't meant to be interesting. It's just direct damage. Something like mesmerize is a lot more interesting to work with due to its low cd and various mechanics. It synergizes with lightning rod perfectly too as the extra hitbox allows for proximity detonation of all 6 projectiles.
Why? If you're in the beginning area you haven't added much if anything to your NG+ save. Just load that up, play the DLC and then if you feel like doing a NG+ run just skip cutscenes until you get back to your state.
I would have to replay NG+ all the way to the end again for the DLC no?
I assumed you saved your save clear file in another slot like I did. I have like 28 save slots used. The ones with the clear data will have a star on it and the quest will be "back to the origins". When I started NG+ I immediately made a new slot save.
After a 130 hour play of Rebirth I went straight into FF4 because I had Final Fantasy brain. Which was excellent! Never played it before. But then this DLC comes out of nowhere lmao. Like I was going to pump the brakes on all the FF, but I guess nothing stops this train....
Storywise, FF4 is the FF game that reminds me most of XVI (other than Tactics, maybe). It's one of my absolutely favorites.

Garuda: Will-o' the wykes, Pile Drive
Ramuh: Lightning Rod, Satellite
Bahamut: Gigaflair, Impulse
It's a fun caster like build that let's me play a lot of keepaway. Build Megaflair with dodges and stack up Blind Justice(it feels a lot better to use now with faster movement and a quicker return to neutral), set Satellite and Impulse for constant damage while charging the above two Eikonic Feats.
I'm keeping Garuda for now because the Devil Bringer is fun and I don't feel like trying to build up Zantetsuken with just Oden's weapon. Should be a good spot for Leviathan when I get to it. Pile Drive isn't really needed either, I just wanted an AoE for now.

I'm with you, but I have lost almost all hope, haha. Yoshida's answer during our interview at TG just felt… final.
It's why I dropped all ability-specific accessories ages ago.

Yeah, that's an unfortunate oversight.
Hopefully gear sets can be added later too. Since the PC version still isn't out, it won't be too crazy if we see at least one more update.
Kairos Gate is kind of a roguelike mode right?
Can you play on the higher difficulties even if you didn't play through the main game on those higher difficulties, and will that be feasible? I don't really want to replay the game on FF mode, but would be interested in tackling the combat challenges at that difficulty if I can.

But ability accessories are how you break the shit out of things like getting three to four Zants in during a single stagger window.
I'll keep playing the counter game with phoenix, garuda and titan mixed with some Shiva and some stuff. Plus, we have to consider Levi's power so, there's that.
The game is easy enough without needing 4 zants in a single stagger I feel lol

Love to see it. Hopefully the DLC fleshes out the relationships between the cast like this some more, it's a simple yet nice touch.
At this point, it's all part of the allure. The Mists in XII are like some of my favorite things in part because of their names lol
I was hoping to see more of this in the DLC. Party banter was sorely lacking in the main campaign.
Just got back from jury duty. I'm really excited to dig into the new patch after playing the first dlc a week ago.
nothing seen though yoshida stated before the ending wasn't being changed. What is still missing is the big epilogue quest that is supposed to tie everything together.
