How is 7 an outlierIGN gave the campaign an 8.8.
So far GameSpot is likely an outlier.
Sounds like the changes don't really push the franchise forward that much or aren't that meaningful, and also that the story is a bit disjointed here and there, but overall the game is still pretty solid.
This is the first review posted and that I've read.
9/10 from us. Best Gears game yet.
I was just thinking the same thing lmao!
Although it has a few stumbles, and an obvious setup for Gears 6, the overall campaign package is a satisfying experience whether you're a long time Gears fan or entirely new to the series. It's great to see The Coalition trying new things here, though on balance, the team still played it pretty safe. The campaign in Gears 5 is more of a minor iteration than a major evolution in gameplay. Maybe Gears 6 will push the envelope a bit more.
Such a useless comment that negativly contributes to the thread.
It's almost as if you've been on the internet before.Watch people ignoring all the other reviews and focus on Gamespot 7/10
Hard to score a game without knowing how good the online infrastructure is.How in the world do you give a score (7/10) to a "review in progress?"
Shouldn't the score be saved until the review is... done?
So you picked the one "meh" review so far and made a straw man already. If you're going to do this then you can leave the thread.
Nowhere near at the moment.
Here comes the troll.
Despite those issues, Gears 5 is a strong entry in a series that had been undeniably flagging on its campaigns. Gears 5 has a few too many new ideas, both narrative and mechanical, but its choice to put Kait at its center helps carry the game over its rougher spots. Gears 5 doesn't top the original Gearstrilogy, but it's easily my favorite of the latter-day Gears games.
Damn. The dream is dead
