I finished the main quest today and was floored by the ending. I kept expecting a final huge boss fight while I climbed the mountain but it never came, and the ending was so much better for it. Intimate, yet the effect of seeing the giants, was incredibly powerful in the grand scheme of the lore.
The reveals for Atreus and the "final scene" were legitimately mind blowing, as well. The ending is perfectly executed—wasn't too short that so much had to be inferred and not overly long as to overstay its welcome.
Balrog and his team should be proud of what they accomplished. A massive game without some of the tired tropes of AAA gaming.
Now on to beat those fucking Valkyries. And wait for a follow-up...
