NEW: Federal prosecutors in Manhattan formally announce a press conference at 11amET to announce charges against Jeffrey Epstein.
They say Epstein will be charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking if minors.

Trump so far has somehow managed to be connected to just about every disgraceful thing possible. The only reason he's not directly in the Panama papers is that he's just terrible at keeping his money.

The indictment talks about commercial selling of the girls in New York. Hopefully they have everything else he did and a list of all his buyers.
He's rich and white, and has a ton of dirt on other rich, white people. It's pretty clear why he got a slap on the wrist (and why I expect the same this time around).

Epstein sex trafficked a current Hollywood actress when she was a kid iirc. It's going to be tough for victims to speak up inherently, AND they have to deal with potential death threats from both wealthy abusers and their networks and rabid Trump supporters.

The judge really needs to set no bail because if there's bail he'll flee immediately and they'll never find/get him.

Ongoing investigation, most likely. They don't want to taint their case, or potential future cases against other perpetrators (of which there are no doubt many).

Long time coming, too long, but glad he's finally going down. Hope they get him to squeal big time. Rich and powerful get away with too much shit, this kind of abuse needs to be rooted out no matter where it goes or who it touches. At best too many people just willfully ignore reports and rumors of this kind of stuff because guys like Epstein have money and power. If simple human decency and morality won't keep people from doing business and associating with guys like him, if not outright protecting him, we need to turn their lives upside down and make anyone associated with him thoroughly regret it.
