Awesome Xeno numbers! Lets hope it does well worldwide as well. SW numbers are great once again.

Still surprised at the poor output from Japanese devs on switch, such a wasted opportunity.

so...did the switch already go past the "out of original stock due to pandemic disruption" and now we are seeing new supply? (eg they moved some supply out of china)

also - first line I read was AC numbers and I thought...oh wait this is last weeks.

Somewhere. I think.
This is both hilarious and sad considering there's an incredibly obvious growth opportunity in front of their noses.

Nagoshi: "Kondo, my man! Let me introduce you to that new hot platform to sell your games. Everyone wants it, it's crazy, demand is through the roof!
Kondo: "Come on, told you I wasn't interested in expanding our audience"
Harada: "He's talking about the Xbox One you idiot! lol"

Sorted out? Haha, you're funny.

Quick question, are all those numbers Famitsu? MC has nsmb dip under 100k for week 11.

that said AC is the most impressive still because 1) Only one to be missing sales aka digital, 2) Pokémon games had holiday periods which kept them afloat, 3) nsmb only one like AC to be outside of dec had DS lite selling 150k-200k+ weeks while NSW is barely able to keep up and highest weeks are 100k with most being sub 50k

Really put things into perspective

There are still 4 weeks for this quarter remaining and Switch shipments will play some role but even with 50k systems per week Animal Crossing won't have problem to exceed 6m until June.

It looks it will be somewhere between 6 and 6,3m at next Nintendo report, closer to high estimate.

80k/week physical next 4 weeks give 5M total. Perhaps 10% digital of ~200-300k (2.4M physical in Q1) adds about 1.1M digital for a total of 6.1M. I remember seeing guesses of 6M at ACNH launch and with some closer to 6.5-7M.

They take longer to make than a cart. They are big and less can fit on a pallet. There is a global pandemic.
I understand there is a pandemic but even before that they were having issues. What I mean, and I should have elaborated, is that they managed to build the Wii fit board no problem so why not the ring for RFA?

they had higher expectations for the wii fit board? RFA exists in a post-plastic accessories world. and after the relative failure of Labo

id be very surprised if xenoblade 2 pops back into the charts this week, because of the promo they did for the DE + 2 voucher combo. i feel like almost anyone aware of that option, along of course with an NSO sub, would purchase them that way.

Stock needs to be their hardware wise for ac to avg 80k weekly imo. I think it'll drop to 60-70k next week. Hopefully I'm wrong

Animal Crossing going as high as 6,5m at the end of June (3,5 months after release) is not impossible but is the very optimistic scenario.

Fastest selling game ever in Japan is Pokemon Gold / Silver with 6m+ after 1,5 month and 7,17m after 4,5 months. Sales fell over a cliff after that period since it stopped at 7,3m.

How much do The Legend of Heroes games usually sell? The series is pretty famous but these sales seem really low, especially since these threads taught me that jrpgs don't have legs

How did pokemon GS sell 6mil in 1.5months when accord to famitsu it did under 5mil after 11 weeks?

GS doing that much better just makes me wonder what AC could of done if it released during Nov and/or had hardware not be supply constraint.

Looking at NSMB that did so well with its legs at the same point of time as ACNH, DS was selling consistently over 100k-150k weekly.

ACNH is the 2nd fastest but going by ever greens and me predicting that NSW sell thru isn't at the halfway mark of its lifetime sales AC will continue and outsell RB eventually

Xenoblade's weakest market is clearly Japan.

Monolith/Nintendo should aim for the West.

2D turn-based Xenoblade 3 for the Switch Lite in Japan.

3D pseudo-open-world real-time cinematic battle royale mo-cap gritty relationship adventure for the Switch Pro in the West.

Am I doing this right?

Gotta imagine that XBDE is close to XB2 with digital/vouchers. Good result.

100% right.

Next Xenoblade is gonna be a 3rd person cinematic experience featuring a dark anti hero, probably a middle aged dad who lost everything.

God they gotta sort out the ps4 supply issues

Do they? This late life cycle surge seems like a dream scenario. They sold a ton of units at full price and cleared out inventory before a new system launch. With the stay at home orders dying down, they can resume light production and likely sell through wha they manufacture.

How much are used PS4s selling for? Curious if we can get an idea actually how much missed opportunity there is here.
