my line of thought is: if a jRPG of a established franchised published by Nintendo during the strongest month of the year sold less than 100k. Maybe we should consider 90k for Octopath a good number.

It was also sold out on Amazon.ca the other day. It will be interesting to see if its inevitable worldwide success along with the success that Rabbids had last year gets any additional third parties to think outside the box a little with regards to Switch releases.

20 games (!!) in September and 11 for the whole Q4... yeah a Nintendo Direct is coming sooner than later.

Switch sold around 1.8MM units from October 2017 through January 2018. With significantly bigger games and no shortages (or at least much larger shipments) this year, Switch should sell more than 2.5MM units from October 2018 through January 2018. If third parties miss out on the party again, the numbers that Nintendo's evergreens put up are going to be outrageous.
