Really? Switch has been so not spiky this year.
Bizarre that demand has been so consistent.
That means regardless of whether Octopath had supply issues or not, I believe Taiko's first week sales would beat OT's second week sales, being that 69k is a damn fine number.
That makes it even weirder because aren't the New 2DS XL game bundles technically download codes? (Pre-installed)
Both Media Create and Famitsu count bundle sales, actually.
But the New Nintendo 2DS LL bundles do not include a "normal boxed copy", though as Hieroph pointed out it's not a Download Code either.
Hmm...might have been there as well.
You can't count as a sale something that is given for free.Well it's weird then that last holiday season when Sony bundled every PS4 with Everybody's Golf download code those sales were not counted. Or when back in a day Sony bundled download codes of Bloodborne with every PS4 for a while.

How is BOTW now ranked in sales compare to the previous Zelda games? Has it already beat OoT?
Nintendoland.Excluding 3DS Software. We are looking at the following software sales distribution in the Media Create Top 20 this week.
Switch: 92.5%
PS4: 7.5%
That Taiko debut is definitely very strong. It has the makings of a 600k-700k seller, assuming its legs won't be worse than what the 3DS first entry showed.
Best Taiko sales:
IMO Switch version should slot in somewhere in between those.Code:PS2 Taiko no Tatsujin: Tatakon de Dodon ga Don - Tatakon Bundled Set 64.002 743.334 Namco 24/10/2002 NDS Meccha! is likely gonna keep going down, Amazon JP dont have more stock till August 4thNice that all Hardware is up. Expected the drop from Octopath, let's hope next week it sells the same or more.
Yep, running joke for that exact reason. I don't follow Asia news so I had zero idea 10 people have died from a legit heat wave. TBH that comment I thought meant 10 people were "banned" aka "died" from using the joke. It's a running joke in SalesAge because once it was used to justify sub-par sales or something or other. But I agree it's in bad taste right now. A little 1st grade boy died of heat stroke a few days ago near my area. That said, I don't think anyone making these jokes is aware of how bad it is here right now and I don't think anyone is trying to offend.
Zelda is more impressive to me given it's a single player game. but it goes to show that freeform gameplay is the way to go to extend the legs of single player gameplayLast year this game debuted at No.1, now it's still in the top 3, let that sinks in
there hasn't been a major release in a long while. what still releases for it are niche games like visual novels and a lot of them seem to be jumping ship to the SwitchAnother week without a Vita game in the top 20... It's really dwindling down, eh? :-/
I think at least one or two of those can do pretty well. Don't CoD games usually do around 300-400k? That's pretty good, especially for a very western-focused series.KHIII January 2019. RDR2, Spider Man, CoD, BF are not big in Japan.
CoD and Rockstar games....are def. big in Japan.KHIII January 2019. RDR2, Spider Man, CoD, BF are not big in Japan.

Spiderman should do quite well too.
The impact on console hardware sales might not be as big though.
So you might say... they are bigger than niche, but not a breakout hit?Well "big" in the sense of over 200k maybe, but "big" in the sense 700k or more I don't think so.

To be fair...the games that fit the second definition have been the same for the last couple years.Well "big" in the sense of over 200k maybe, but "big" in the sense 700k or more I don't think so.
When is the next big release for any platform? There is Mario party in October but is there much else between now and then (like say 50-100K opening)?
Winning Eleven 2019, FIFA 19 , Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch, Warriors Orochi 3 and hopefully a couple of surprises (TWEWY, Xenoblade : Torna ...)
given how Kirby did in relation to Mario, and historical data, I'm not too certain overcrowding is much of an issue. especially since Mario nor Kirby lends itself to legs (despite it's updates). BotW, on the other hand, is far more open and freeform in its design, allowing for more unique (and gif-able) experiences that help extend playerbaseZelda is outlegging both Kirby and Odyssey.
This shows the uniqueness of Breath of the Wild and also the overcrowding of platforms on Switch.
No one cares about Sonic in Japan. So are we to assume that none of the Sonic Mania plus charted?
Decent line-up of games. Definitely still hoping for a surprise or 2 but not expecting anything.
