Robot Kit likely killed Labo off early. Will probably still end up selling 3M eventually and it should be pretty profitable, but that's unfortunate

dont get me wrong, im sure that Labo is made with pocket money tier project. if it fails it wont put a dent on Nintendos bottom end. the one that things Labo fail = Nintendo fails at any chance please the ultracasual market is Aquamarine
Nintendo mentioned that Labo was supposed to be a driver to have the casual audience buy the switch. It's obviously not at this point and while it may not have lost them money they have been banking on the Labo to help them get to 20 million switches sold. So it has a more significance than your letting on.

Well if they hit 20 million through other means then I guess it's a wash. 20 million is a big number so that's a successful year overall for Nintendo if they get there.

Not all of Nintendo's ideas are going to stick, but they should keep trying and see what catches on anyway.

Never heard about him :p
He was a staple of the mid to late 2000s Media-Create threads on NeoGAF. He had a pretty famous standard of 300k being a successful game and would often argue about what a bomb was or not. I literally just searched a random thread from there with his name and this came up:

There are many thing im not sure in life, but one that I am is that in no way they were putting hoppes on a Labo as a driver for the 20M shipping targets

After the lukewarm LABO performance I am even more down on games with external shit. It's why I think that Atlas game by Ubisoft is going to be a massive bomb.

Super Mario Party and Dark Souls Remastered should be the biggest Switch releases in October.

Not sure what to expect from the latter at this point.

For me, to consider if Labo is considered flop tenure or not is quite easy.

If in Holiday, there is no uptick of marketing push by Nintendo, it will means that Nintendo already check their marketing research and they dont deem the push will be worth the earnings at all.

In initial showing of the game, they had the physical toys since at the time there were skylanders etc.

But at at the E3 reveal with the Nintendo tie in, there was much more focus on this being playable as a Starfox game (that people actually wanted and Nintendo wasnt giving them)

What with the story cut scenes etc specific to the switch version, I think the game with basically be playable with digital. I want to buy the game just for the starfox type gameplay and story without purchasing any toys (or additional ones)

Disney released Infinity 1,2 and 3 as pure digital games for PC. You can play with the full set of figures all digital.

So I think now that TTL games no longer exist, ubisoft pivoted to make the game playable with much less focus on physical toys.

Level-5 booth at TGS. Yokai Watch logo is on the big screen on the right. I bet they are releasing the first trailer for YW4.

It seems that Gungho is pushing Ninjala hard.

Yo-Kai Watch 4 first footage is someone recording off screen demo monitors

It's an action rpg now, big change from the barely gameplay original.
Have ranged and melee attacks and a devil trigger
Looks weird

Man, what a holding for Spider-man. Simply amazing, even more for an western game. It's probably one of the big launches of one in this gen.

Yikes at Black Clover. They really tried to make that franchise happen.

Well, the manga sells above 200k in it's FW and generally reaches 300k which is really good and the anime is only behind Pokémon, Boruto and Gintama in revenue for TV Tokyo so I wouldn't say that.

It got renewed for at second season. It's doing decently. Just not game wise.

It wasn't a second season, they renewed the series post 52 episodes.
