I might be in the minority but I don't think it's that consequent.
DQ Monsters is all but guaranteed to be switch first, PS4 secondI might be in the minority but I don't think it's that consequent.
It means of course that from now on, Switch will always get the games in the series at the same as they launch on the PS platforms.
Hopefully this translates to other Squenix series as well *look intensely at Dragon Quest*

Given the gap (less than 50k) the real battle might, for once, take place on the respective digital shops. I suspect that whoever discounts the game first will reap more benefits at the end.I bring it up more because the first week sales were higher for PS4. It is interesting to me to see how games like this can leg on Switch. And because at the time it was stated that "the gap is never going to be substantial between the two SKUs".
It's not there yet but I wouldn't be surprised if in the end the gap becomes noteworthy.
Kamiko and SubaraCity are coming to PS4, XBO and PC. Flyhigh Works plans to release them within March and April this year.

At least a couple of years out, I reckon. How'd DMC6 looking, with the last trailer dropped + release imminent?
(historically, has DMC been a more western-tilted franchise?)
One week is left and nothing seems to have changed. There are possible 2 scenarios for Devil May Cry 5.
Pessimistic says it will open at 100-150k
Optimistic says it will open at 150-200k
Inazuma Eleven Ares was showcased during latest Inazuma Walker livestream. Does look a bit rough at the moment.
Also, they announced a new mobile game, Inazuma Eleven SD (temp title).
No release date yet, but anyone want to bet on how many times it will be delayed? ;)
Official recording of full livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wui9Jk_WlQM
If someone wants to make a separate thread (only posting that here because everyone here looooves Level-5 games, especially when they're delayed :P), feel free (too busy at the moment).
That's unlikely, Golden Week is only 2 months away. Spring lasts until mid June and Yo-kai Watch 4 is still dated for Spring. Level 5 still has a chance to benefit from Switch slow release schedule before things start to accelerate a lot.Slow thread this week, does yokai have a chance to release in Golden week still?
That's actually a higher 1st day sell-through percentage than I thought it would have.First Day Sell-through {2019.02.28}

Are they including the $150 deluxe sku (with more games) in that number?Darius Cozmic Collection seems to have done pretty well, for a collection of retro games. Sell-through is alright too.

Also worth noting there's no digital numbers for it, it's a rare packaged exclusive on Switch.

But this game is still gonna flop like mad.
Yes, people comment on 1st day percentage sell-through numbers in terms of whether it's good, bad, etc all the time in these threads.Do people actually have expectations on 1st day sellthrough when shipment numbers are not known...?

I was expecting 20%, because Left Alive has actually had advertising in Japan per users on this thread, and so I wasn't expecting a miniscule shipment for it.I know but I have never heard of expectations about 1st day sell-through for which we don't know much about shipments.
What we comment is the positioning relative to other games.
I'm curious. Which 1st day sell-through were you expecting, why and on which figures?
Japan will save AnthemDengeki:
Anthem:
- 90% sell-through
- mention game selling out at stores during weekend
- second best debut for a new IP this fiscal year (#1 is Octopath Traveler with 101k)
February (January 28th to February 24th)
Lack of major new releases hurt market. Top 5 is 4/5 games from January or earlier.
- Hardware: 350 000 units sold (-30.2%) / 10.7 billion Yen (-29.2%)
- Software: 1.68 million units sold (-22%) / 11.4 billion Yen (-27.7%)
- Total: 22.1 billion Yen (-28.4%)

The figure being the 1st day sell-through percentage, what other figure is there for discussion?
And have you really never seen a comment like "X sold 60% sell-through it's first day, that's in line with expectations" or "Y first day sellthrough was 40%, that's pretty good since it should have legs". Having expectations of something is the only way judgement of good, bad, mediocre, average, etc can be given. Without expectations there is nothing in terms of commentary or discussion, just data.

I'm guessing that Flyhigh Works is testing the waters with those 2 titles. Maybe if they do well, more games including Fairune Collection will appear on PS4/XBO/PC in the future.A little surprised there's been no appearance of the Fairunes on PS4 and XBO (I think it is on PC, though?). Would seem a very reasonable thing to include along with Kamiko.
