Rebuild was a mistake anyway. Don't @ me.I kind of doubt it. Funimation dubbed those with a lot of the original cast, so I don't think they'll have the rights to them

I don't understand how you can consume most of the work and then ignore the most thematically significant and purposefully author-representative episodes in it.
Death & Rebirth was the first Evangelion thing I ever saw and it made me curious enough to buy the Platinum Collection DVD set. But yeah, if you watch the director's cuts of episodes 21-24, and you watch the End of Evangelion, Death & Rebirth has no additional scenes. If you're gonna skip anything, you could probably pass on Death & Rebirth instead of episodes 25 and 26.
I believe around 15.
Oooh nice. Once they do that, I'll add it to the op.Waypoint crew reuploded their discussion on the first two episodes and will be covering the new ones over time
It's going to be 1996 all over again.Oh man. The deluge of horny idiots who completely misunderstand every point the show is trying to make, instead dumbing down these psychologically damaged teens to fuckable sex objects is going to be maddening. Waifu discussions in the context of this show are sooo disgusting, man.
Subs is the only way to go.Who will be watching with subs versus dubs? Def gonna go subs for me. Never seen this series before but am excited for it!

Definitely recommend subs for first-time watchers, but I've watched the show so many times that I've gotta take the opportunity of this new dub to change things up a bit.Who will be watching with subs versus dubs? Def gonna go subs for me. Never seen this series before but am excited for it!
Probably subs this time around since I personally got to know a few of the dub actors over the years working anime conventions loving their work on the show, and I never got around to watching it subbed.
They are the best episodes tho.
I don't know about the new dub, but there was definitely something lost while watching with the old dub. The Japanese VAs are worlds better.
Fuuuuuuuuuck i'm torn between watching reliving the crazyness of EVA or binge-watching S2 of Dark first.
Also, isn't End of Eva basically what episodes 25 & 26 were supposed to be if they hadn't run out of money and weren't forced to cobble together those episodes with previous footage and still frames?
It's a different version of the same events with a bigger budget and more context aroundAlso, isn't End of Eva basically what episodes 25 & 26 were supposed to be if they hadn't run out of money and weren't forced to cobble together those episodes with previous footage and still frames?

1080p most likely
99% certain it will be the DC episodes. The broadcast versions have been rendered obsolete.Do we know for sure if they're gonna have the Director's Cut 21-24?
It's based off the Japanese BD release, so I think it's a 1080p remaster.Anyone know if it's 4k, 1080p, or 720p?
idk what the original show or movies were in 480p?
ok ty, I guess I won't need the 4k Netflix subIt's based off the Japanese BD release, so I think it's a 1080p remaster.
The big question I have is if they preserve the 4:3 aspect ratio. Hopefully they don't crop it to widescreen.
The trailer (in the OP) is 4:3 so it should be fine. It's based off the Japanese BD release, so I think it's a 1080p remaster.

Do you remember being an alienated, depressed teenager? If so you should be fine.Ive never seen it...hope I enjoy it been meaning to watch iteration years.... how does it hold up if you're not a kid anymore?
If you watch dubs and the new dub is quality, should be amazing. If you prefer subs, it's definitely still amazing. It's an anime classic for a reason beyond the vast amounts of shitty merchandise.Ive never seen it...hope I enjoy it been meaning to watch it for years.... how does it hold up if you're not a kid anymore?
Oh God noNetflix is gonna ask if I want to skip this and that is a crime.
