Thanks very much!
Looking forward to jumping in tonight and then looking longingly at the demo icon until July :(
Ah so I should use boosted abilities even for simple enemies? But it uses PT so I would have to use items to refill. I find strange the need to use special abilities even for weak enemies. That should be reserved for tough enemies. It's not like there's any deep strategy to it.
Progression carries over to the full game? When is this supposed to release?
Your HP/SP refill whenever the character levels up, too, which is pretty often, and there are SP restorative abilities and passives in certain classes. Between those two things, it's rare to have to use SP restoration items.
Don't tell me you'd prefer a game where you could just auto-attack kill all the non-boss enemies. :P
Did you guys play the original demo? I knew from the very first reveal trailer that this game was for me since I LOVED Saga Frontier as a kid, and the demo sealed the deal. I'm excited to try more characters in this updated version, and I'm so glad progress carries over. The game is great! Visuals, characters, etc.
My roommate and I are so hyped!
You can make a new file (you only get 1 save file in the demo, in the full game there is 9), and only that newest file will transfer to the full game.
Oh, that's great, means I can play any of the other stories I want since I wasn't planning on playing my main's starting chapter until a couple of days before launch! You can make a new file (you only get 1 save file in the demo, in the full game there is 9), and only that newest file will transfer to the full game.
Question for those following Cyrus' path first
I was struggling with the first main boss in the cave (with two ice minions), and was using way too many items just to KO the minions with fire. Looked online and found someone had a thunder spell... where did I miss this? I thought I hit everything beforehand but obviously not. I think the time limit has me flustered not to explore everywhere
I guess the way they should do it is to let you play as much as you want in the demo if you pre-order (maybe you get a code if you pre-order on Amazon/Gamestop and it can automatically unlock on eShop).
But you can understand why they wouldn't want people playing the demo for 20+ hours, burning themselves out and not buying the game.
Played a little bit of the thief's path. Interesting story set up.
I then went and got the hunter chick, which actually prompted me to go through what I assume is her first chapter. Is there a way to switch on the fly back to my thief boy?
This is where I'm at. I played both demos and, while that game certainly looks neat, there was not anything about the story or gameplay I found particularly engaging. I may pick it up when it's on sale for $30-40.I had fun with the demo but it kind of hurt my eyes after awhile. Something about all the graphical effects and darkness really mess with me. Either way, it was cool, but not $60 cool. I'll wait for a sale.
Go to the tavern from each city and the bartender allows you to switch.
You should have gotten a mini tutorial on how to aquire skills when you Hht level 2 or 3. Open the menu, go to skills and purchase the lighting spell there.
There's more voice acting than I thought there would be and it's all pretty good. Also took me a bit to realize how I should be maximizing my damage in a fight but it all felt good. Felt like a snappier version of Bravely Defaullt.
Haa'nit (is that her name? I forget how it's spelled) has a speech pattern that really bugs me, though. She was the first party member I picked up
This is exactly what I did too, and also the reason I stopped playing her. The whole "olde englishe" is layed on on super thick in a really off-putting way (at least to me). Still, always liked Hunters in games, especially ones that could range multiple beasts, so I'll give her another shot. But first impressions weren't great
Yeah, I believe it's six. Any more after that you have to replace one.Her combat style is awesome (does she have a maximum number of monster summons she can have, or is she basically just a blue mage?), so the fact that her speech pattern is SO offputting is really frustrating. It doesn't even seem consistent.
Supposed to happen later in the game, I don't think that part is in the demo.how does one mix classes? like give Prim Dancer + Merchant and so on
Yeah, I believe it's six. Any more after that you have to replace one.

Ah. Is there a limit to how many times you could use each one?
One thing you can do is boost regular attacks in order to multi-hit. Each boost adds another hit, and each hit can shave off one of the enemy's break points. If you have a team, you can then have a second character boost to take advantage of that turn of vulnerability.I still haven't, any tips? Only thing I thought of is "breaking" the enemy with normal attacks (assuming they're weak to the weapon you have) and then boosting to max and laying on with skills once they're broken. But, that still feels like it takes too long.
Nope, 3 hrs total. I managed to recruit two additional characters in that time.
Ah. Is there a limit to how many times you could use each one?
Nah, it's not MP, it's number of uses. I think most of them are 5 uses each, but I don't think it's the same for all of them.
There is only one save file in this demo. Once that save file hits three hours, you can no longer progress on that save. However, you can restart as many times as you like and overwrite the old file with new ones.
Yeah, that guy is unlimited. The other ones have a fixed amount of uses before you'd need to catch another one.I had two that said 7, and then her jaguar friend seems to just be unlimited-use but also you can't choose what attack it does.
oh okay thanks, guess i'll just wait until it comes out to do moreYeah, I believe it's six. Any more after that you have to replace one.

That makes sense. I was capturing every monster I encountered and after a while I was like "there has to be a limit to this". Otherwise she'd just be completely broken.
Nah, they just cost MP to use.

I haven't felt this giddy since the Lunar Silver Star Story Complete demo came out for PS1. It was the same deal. I played the SHIT out of that demo because I just couldn't wait for the full game, and I knew progress would carry over.
That's what I figured, thanks. Though I wonder if I'm the full game you'll have some sort of "monster pen" where you could send monsters you arenta using like in Dragon Quest 5.
That'll change once you leave town lol
