I have to imagine McD has a guarantee from NE to replace Bill either this season or next because this really tarnishes his rep with other owners/GMs.

I thought when McDaniels left that Bill was sticking for another 5 years. If McDaniels is back it's only because Bill is leaving much sooner than later. The backlash from sitting Butler must have been enormous.
What I'm thinking as well. Why accept and then back out hours later? Schefter is saying Kraft is ponying up more money but it's got to be more than that. Colts GM and McDaniels have the same agent as well. I'd be pissed if Colts GM. Def would fire agent

MCD says yes to colts so they don't try for any other top guys available then after everyone is hired he backs out. What a terrible thing to do. Sorry colts fans.
Bill's retiring soon, or Luck is more fucked up than anyone is letting on.

I'm really starting to think that Bill is about to retire.
I doubt McDaniels has learned anything new about Luck's health in the last few days that would cause him to change his mind.
It only makes sense if Bill is retiring now, or at the end of next season.
Because this decision kills any chance of him ever getting another interview.
There are really only two scenarios:
1. McDaniels was told he will be the head coach of the Patriots in 2019
2. McDaniels was told Andrew Luck will never throw a football again.
