A Hat in Time is a better game but a worse Switch port. I'd wait for a sale on A Hat in Time.

I probably will get it on sale, but the wait is killing. It's never gone on sale on eShop while the PS4 version lacks the DLC.

I actually enjoyed what I played of Yooka. I don't get all the hate.

Want to try and sell me on it? I've heard lots of negative things, while Impossible Lair is awesome.

Well, in fairness, I only played the first major area after the opening bit, but that's more a reflection on my attention span than the game.

It's got a lot of personality and the levels seem fun to explore, with lots of variety in things to do. Although I only played one area, I did spend a decent amount of time exploring it and finding collectibles and things to do.

Performance was also pretty good.

If it looks like fun to you, I honestly can't think of anything about it that would put you off.

Having said that, I'm aware that I'm in the minority, so maybe take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Just so everyone knows, after like 2 years of waiting for N++ to go on sale in NA, i've gone ahead and picked it up at full price (which isn't that high I guess), so you can definitely expect it to be on sale for the first time next week

I'm playing Yooka Laylee 2 right now and I'm enjoying it enough that I think I'll definitely bite on the Yooka Laylee 1 sale.
I'm a huge Banjo Kazooie fan and even kickstarted Yooka Laylee 1 and I thought it was just alright.
It plays pretty well, but it just didn't live up to BK1 in terms of level design for me and feels a little held back by its budget at times (especially the Casino level which feels a bit bland looking). I liked it enough to buy it again on Switch, but I still haven't made it through the whole game just yet.

It's definitely improved since it first released, a big update they did added signs to the hubworld to help you find levels (it was a confusing hubworld, so the signs helped a LOT). And the Switch port is really solid, so I would still recommend giving it a try if they price is right for you.

Well I'm gonna give Yooka-Laylee & The Impossible Lair another run now that the Impossible Lair is less impossible.
